    Think it’s funny how many ofthese I had in my childhood at all my friends’ houses and my own and I make for my family. None of these are gone or declining!

      Exactly what I was thinking also. I still make or buy a lot of these things. One reason they are no longer popular is because families rarely make meals and eat together... secondly, people want quick and easy meals. A lot of Gen Z are ordering fast food and having it delivered via Door Dash. They don't even go get it. Very unhealthy.

    Most of these are still alive and well in Canada haven’t gone anywhere. Yes there are always new fads but these have not died. Brush up on your research. They are classics for a reason❤

      If you don't make it right, it can be dry. I would only eat my maternal grandmother's meatloaf and I learned her technique.

    We make at least one of these meals at least once a week in our house. Most of them are not costly, are very tasty, and are easy to modify to our individual tastes. I would hardly say that they have "vanished!"

      So true, none of these have vanished, what's vanished is the skill to cook in America, especially since microwaves were invented by NASA. If you want them back just learn how to cook and stop reheating what's in a can.

      Yes, you are right.🧐 However, for some unknown reason they discontinued my very favorite "Hamburger Helper BEEF STEW"! Why did they do that??😱🤔

      @@CharlieChilders-wm9gb probably the same reason they stopped selling the quart sized cardboard cans of soup starters, processing dehydrated chunks of vegetables cost too much for the amount of packaging needed. Everything is smaller for profits today because corporations only care about shareholders today.

    Enjoyed the throwback; still make and eat a lot of these foods. I was just thinking that back when these foods were popular and mostly made from scratch, that people weren't horribly obese. Now that so many foods are processed with chemicals, we aren't that healthy and have put on pounds.

    • @xx_Joker_xx
      @xx_Joker_xx 19 днів тому +1

      Yup! Because they are quicker and easier. They come frozen. Plus, kids don't play outside much any more. Gen Z just orders fast food and has it delivered via Door Dash a lot of the time.

      Buy organic and avoid GMO. I've noticed that people from other countries aren't fat like Americans. That's because GMOs are frowned upon in other places. The US can't even sell corn to Mexico because they don't want our GMOs ruining their heritage corn varieties. Think about that... then think of all the additives in food and the high incidence of cancer especially among children.

    • @xx_Joker_xx
      @xx_Joker_xx 17 днів тому

      @@chiarac3833 problem is also labeling. Not everything that is labeled as "organic" is actually what most people think "organic" should be. Food producers have found sneaky ways to get around requirements.

    There vanishing because the middle class is vanishing. Hamburger Helper at one time considered poor mans food. You would get this in food pantries and if you were lucky enough to get a can of chili, you had dinner to feed the kids.

    I still love Hamburger Helper, Hormel Chili, beef stroganoff, TV-dinner salisbury steaks, chicken-a-la-king, Underwood deviled ham, spaghetti with meat sauce, and tuna & noodles (only made with chicken instead). Also Beefaroni and Spaghetti-O's. Every week to ten days my wife will make something for dinner that she loves but I hate. Then I enjoy one of these guilty pleasures. I especially like to torment her with a Hormel chili-cheese dog because she says the chili looks and smells like vomit. (Remember the chunky soup scene from "The Great Santini"?)

    Everyone knows that the Frito Pie is a New Mexico tradition started and made famous at the Woolworth's lunch counter at the Town Plaza in Santa Fe, NM.
    Yes, texas (texans) have tried to take credit for it. But history doesn't change just because someone wants it to. 🙂
    Remember, the only way to do it right is with either red or green NEW MEXICO chile made from NEW MEXICO green or red chiles.
