I do struggle a lot with"mistake No. 4" stopping the ball with the first touch, and I really do mix it up.. appreciated sir. I thought that was a very unique mistake that I only make but I'm realizing it that I have similar people around me who just makes the same mistake as me. And I started playing football because I enjoy it so much.
I'm a beginner and I'm in my 50s. Never took to it at school or watched much apart from the last men's Euros. Gone from nothing to five hours a week. Haven't a clue what most of the rules are yet but it's bloody good fun. These videos are excellent. God knows what took me so long.
Same here! I'm in my 30's, had the odd kickaround in school but never played seriously. Got interested in it watching the Lionesses on their way to winning the Euros, signed up for a women's beginner league and have been having a (heh) ball so far :D These tips are great, I've been guilty of clearing the ball into a dangerous area (seems safer to aim for the centre of the pitch, I don't want to be the last touch before it goes out giving the other team a throw-in) I'll try to work on that at my next practice
I have been around football most my life but now at the age of 13 I am now entering a team with no knowledge whatsoever. I am quite clumsy in my movements but these videos help me try and get better
Same. I’ve always loved the sport but I never joined. I play a lot with my friends, although I’m not as good as they are. I’m planning on joining the team at my school since the season starts next month. I’m trying to improve and practice as much as possible before I do, wish me luck lol
Great advice for new players the only thing I could add is for when you’re clearing while it is generally a bad idea to clear to the middle of the field you can IF you clear it right to a teammate which is where you want to aim at when you clear the ball in general or just get it out
i am a teenage girl. i recently got interested in soccer when my dads friend came over and started playing w us and taught us simple things like passing and receiving. i would always try to 1v1 w him but he was so good with controlling the ball and new a lot of tricks like the roullete, cuts, fakeouts, neymar rocket, and more i can't name. i always wondered how he did it so i have been watching lots of tutorials so i can stand a chance. i never was a soccer fan, i was always more of a softball girl. but i realized how fun soccer is and how much harder it is than people think + includes way more excersize than softball. excited to learn more!!
I’m a complete beginner to football, I’ve always had a fascination for it but I just started learning the knowledge a week ago, today marks day 3 of practicing with the ball. I’m 18 so I’m trying to work as hard as I can in order to catch up, I want to be able to play in a game. I dream of going pro, today I managed to land my first semi curve shot on a free kick (solo practice). The feeling I had in my left foot was immense, like unstoppable. I’m still horrid at dribbling, my first touch, juggling, honestly even my strikes sometimes, But I’ve noticed improvements, like I’m making more and more contact with the ball, Although I’m still heavy footed. I’m determined to see my dream through, these videos are all to thank honestly. I might pop back up to update my progress after the first week :)
Update: I’ve improved exponentially, I can keep the ball between my feet, my curve shots are improving with accuracy and power, I can actually juggle the ball with just one foot but also both now, I can feel myself have more control
I started when I was 2 and a half got recruited literally off my preschool playground lol and my love for the game just kept increasing started club when I was 5 and played for Missouri Rush for 6 years and unfortunately had to stop playing because of mental health issues and honestly the politics on that team started to make me lose joy for the game at 12. I can’t wait to start playing again I truly love the game and was actually really good I wasn’t as fast as everyone else but I always got to the ball and got it where it needed to be for my team to score
Im been playing for 30 years, first step is to learn to control the ball, stop the ball (since you can recieive the ball at varying pace and heights) and how to pass it with both in-step and out-step.Then learn to pick your head up (awareness and vision) and look for space to receive and to make a pass. Do the simply things, the rest will folllow.
