Thank you for going to Homestead Horsemanship to help Luna and show them how you have been dealing with a much worse case with Boaz. You are still at it and so are your farriers. What a journey!
He has come so far in the last eight and a half months, it's incredible, it's like looking at a different horse, truly amazing for this beautiful horse. Thank you so much for all your wonderful work with this wonderful horse, thank you too for sharing his journey with us 🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴
OMG!! I did not in a million years ever think you would be able to sit and ride Boaz!! That is so so awesome! Congratulations of a job well done. He looks awesome and you look like a queen on Boaz!! ❤❤❤❤
I just love seeing Reuben work! He's amazing ❤ Was fun watching you teach JR how to put a diaper on a hoof too 😉😄👍 Big hugs from Stockholm, Sweden ❤️❤️❤️
I bet he was so proud to have you able to ride him. Handsome Boaz was a sweetheart you are. How wonderful that he has come so far. You have worked so hard for him❤.
❤ Boaz! ❤ The clever, handsome, gentle boy! Of course you should take the opportunity to ride him! He's a curious boy, so I could see him being interested in what was happening, his ears were perked up and he was responding positively to you. He looks so much better than when you first took him off the trailer 8 months ago. ❤ Thank you Michelle, Todd and the amazing Rueben and all the wonderful people that support 8E. Also, thank you for helping Emory & JR @ homesteadhorsemanship with Luna's hooves.
Huge improvement in his hooves Boaz has come such a long way since you rescued him, you wouldn't recognise him as the same horse, absolutely fantastic and it's down to all your hard work with him, thank you so much for sharing his journey 🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴🐎🐴
I think hopping on his back for a few was just fine. He looked like he took to it just fine. I don't know how you waited as long as you did to get that 3-minute ride. I know it would have been torture for me. LOL It was nice to see that 'mile wide smile' on your face. He's a peach!
Found you from your help at homestead horsemanship wrapping blue moon's canker hooves. Thanks for all you are doing for horses. How long do those wraps stay on? How often do you have to wrap the hooves. It is quite an ordeal.
I have found that a 48 on/off cycle works best for our draft but some vets recommend wrapping every 24 hours…. I think it depends on the severity of the canker/disease.
Glad you had the fun of a ride. I remember the kids on him I think. I'm sure he overall liked the communication as you've done so much for him over time. Watching the Open Gate site, I have hope for long term healing projects. That also potentially means you can do basic riding, ground training with him.
He won’t be rode much… just a ride here and there in the yard when he feels his best. I know the best temp days for him are between 65-70 degrees and drier weather. lol!
We rescued Boaz from an auction in Feb 2024. You can check out his original and all videos throughout 2024 for more details. But the short answer is we aren’t sure what started his canker. When we got him he had the worst case of thrush, white line disease, and canker that four certified farriers have never seen! He was in terrible condition and was left for slaughter.
@@8ERescueRanch I just watched JR & you wrapping Luna, I asked JR if he prayed over Luna, do you pray over your horses Michelle? I love your videos & I will pray for you, family & horses. ❤🙏

I was so excited to sit in him I could barely remember how to ride that day! 😆

Hi family.❤ What a beautiful vid.❤ Yea,yea,yea. 💯

❤❤❤❤❤❤
After you put on his bandage, I bet that it's going to be hard to take off?
It does take a bit of work, but he's a good boy about it! 🫶🏼
I came over from Homestead horsemanship. What breed horse is Boaz?
We believe he is a Percheron cross.
Just out of interest - is Boaz’s feet so misshapen from the canker or was something else going on as well?
We rescued Boaz from an auction in Feb 2024. You can check out his original and all videos throughout 2024 for more details. But the short answer is we aren’t sure what started his canker.

WHT are the cattle lowing so much?
I am unsure… we met Rueben at a local cattle ranch because it is closer than his farm. They were noisy critters!
What’s the matter with the cows?? They sound very distressed!
Weaning time ?
The farm we met Rueben at operated a cattle ranch and feed lot. Just had a lot going on over there!
Possibly so!
