Nagakura is more comical and an airhead like Heisuke, but seeing him and comparing the suffering of both and seeing these dialogues from Nagakura feels very mature of him. He didn't want the Ochimizu, but unlike Heisuke he can feel life, not just people, but animals and insects as he himself mentioned. I don't know if I didn't see it before, but Nagakura despite suffering had to accept things his way. He doesn't want to accept it unconsciously, but the reality is so harsh that he can't do it today. The image of Chizuru hugging Nagakura is beautiful and motherly. She felt very affectionate and how the love that the artist gave her was transmitted. What a beautiful relationship these two have. Plus developing Nagakura gives it an extra bonus. Good work! Keep it up I support you and everything!
Totally agree, they managed to convey very well the ideological conflict of shinpachi and the affection that chizuru has for him, it is a very nice scene. I love those thoughtful moments when he opens up to her 🥺❤️

I agreed with you analysis but I dont see him as an airhead or just a comic relief. Well the historical Shinpachi write, known litterature and have a good education and political knowledges. In some way we find this in his Hakuouki version when in a drama cd he is excited about new books in library (It's a really funny drama you can watch subbed here : ua-cam.com/video/1lIoEpSq0ag/v-deo.html) and even Miki says he is "better" than Harada concerning text studies which is rude indeed. But well it's Miki XD (KuroYami translates some drama cd too, here the one with Miki and Heisuke too ;) : ua-cam.com/video/KWKPkRx26WQ/v-deo.html). And in the Prequel Reimeiroku or somes routes in Hakuouki we see his political knowledges. But well, this is why I really love him and Heisuke and all the baka trio : they are more complex than what they show and you explain it goodly in your commentary ^^
