@@BitesandStrikesFishing my gf and I went to Surfside Jetty today.. I'm completely wiped out. I need a cart!!! A pond with some fun action looks less demanding on energy and lots of fun!!
@@FinancialFreebo honestly for me, pond fishing is some of my favorite. It’s relaxing, easy access, and sometimes holds monsters. Only downside is more people around
I’ve been meaning to carp fish there. I saw some huge ones there during the summer. I also found out there are fresh water mullet. That place is stocked with them.
Would you mind showing how you rig your spirals for ground bait? I went ahead and ordered some … trying to break into the carp game up here in the Woodlands. If I find some I’ll hook you up with some map dots.😊
Great day on the water. Bummer on the first one you lost, it ran like a huge carp! Questions: What kind of scale were you using? Do you like it? What type of mat do you use to hold the carp when you’re weighing it? I definitely need a good scale (when I caught my undisputed PB carp, I didn’t have a scale☹️). Thanks
For carp and fishing scale will work. I have this one, amzn.to/44o1mZK I don’t have a landing mat but I do have a weigh bag that I got from Big Carp Tackle. It’s about $60. Carp have delicate lips and gills and weighing them in the bag prevents injury.
I generally use 2-4oz weights. Lighter weights for slower current and heavy weights for heavier current. I use the No roll weights because I make my own. ua-cam.com/video/i7M4OFFoBpU/v-deo.html
@@BitesandStrikesFishing - thank you sir for the info. I make my own leaders now after watching your video on how to make them but I wasn’t 100% sure on what weight range to play with since I’m usually out on a river system that fluctuates in current now due to the rain. Wondering if you ever fish the Brazos or would make a video out that way? Would be cool to see what you catch out that way since your a more experienced fisherman then myself
@@chrisp3982 I hit the Brazos from time to time. Access is a little hard since most of it is private property. I’ll use 2oz weights there unless it’s rained. If it’s rained that current will be ripping and you have to find an eddy to cast in.
That is a Beatle spin!
Thanks for the info! I need to step up my bass game
Great video as usual man!!!
Thanks! Did it make you want to try some ponds now?

Damn that break off hurt!
Hell yeah it did.

I have caught a crap just like that too
Nice
They fight like crazy

Good luck to you! I think most people are missing out on some wild fights if they dont.

I’m planning on putting together a video on my setups shortly. Stay tuned!
Guess maybe I should spend a little more time trying to get a few more carp next year. They do seem to be a good time.
One of the most fun to fight. Such an underrated species

Thanks, I bought most of my carp gear from BCT @@BitesandStrikesFishing
Do you mostly use a 2 ounce no roll or 3 ounce no roll when fishing in general and or fishing a river system ??
