Excellent way to do such a review. Getting instatanious reactions from your every day FatShark goggles user was brilliant!
Couldn't have said it better!
I agree. That was helpful for me
I just startet FPV a week ago. I learned so much from your videos and my first build is working nice. Usually i don't write comments but here weg go: Thank you! I have to smile a bit everything you say "...and you gonna learn something today" :) feeling like a child in school. - Philipp from Germany
Oh hi Phillip!
It sounds like those who already had the top fatshark goggle (HD3s) are more reluctant to consider the HDOs, than those coming from the lower end (Attitudes or Dom V3s), probably because it's not enough of an upgrade to justify it, whereas Attitude or Dom V3 people have probably already considered upgrading before HDOs came on the scene.
-Dom V3 owner ;-)
I agree. Most everybody coming from smaller FOV like attitude or DomV3 love them.
BWFPV hay i just wanted u to now i think u do a first class job .keep it up ..llfpv
The price is the only thing keeping me away. If it had the low-hanging-fruit features that customers have been requesting....like one plug-in for the power to goggles and fan, power button, ability to turn the fan on and off (no timer), adjustable aspect ratio, better battery...or better yet, include the battery case and a pair of 18650 cells. This would make th $500 much more palatable.
Joshua Bardwell I had and still have the DomV2. I later got the HD2 and HATED them. The soft pads I had to use made the goggles dig into my forehead when I lifted them up. The blur was horrible. I had to use diopters to improve it which made it better (and FOV smaller) but still annoying. And the image in general was not as good as the old DomV2. For what I'm to understand, the HD3 is better but still has edge blur issues. So HDO sounds like the best upgrade for me, but not unless my DomV2 goggles break or are stolen.
True, but the way I see it (and I'm probably just trying to justify it because I've almost already committed :-) is that visual FPV quality is probably the 2nd most important aspect of FPV. Let's face it, why do we do this? To collect some HD footage on a gopro? The only thing we have is the real time experience and the video feed has always taken a back seat because of an impoverished anolog signal. For that reason, I think the quality of the video deserves as much (or more) investment as the quad itself. We're usually willing to invest in more than 1 quad (some of us have many) with little complaint about the $200-500 cost per unit... I think I've talked myself into it. LOL :-P
Man that smile at the beginning makes me soo happy 😊😊
Just picked up the HDO's today and they EXCEED my expectations! Coming from HD3's I could not be happier with the sharper cleaner image. Best FPV upgrade I've done in 2 years.
caymandiver75 isn’t the fov very small
I own the HD2 and got the opportunity to try the HDO's yesterday and I would never ever switch, unless they bring out a 45°FOV goggle.
Bloody JMF that’s where I’m at. If they can bump the FOV up somewhere between the 37* it is now and the 52* of the HD2 I’d consider it but until then I’ll hold onto the HD2. Unless the HD2’s break and then it will be a toss up.
My first pair of goggles are HDO's so I have no comparison really lol
All goggles suck given the current year.
When an analog signal gets weak it glitches and gets snow but you can still see. When a digital signal gets weak it freezes. I'd rather have snow and a weak picture than it just freeze.
I agree that they could do better for cheaper, but that's the market right now and as long as they can sell incremental upgrades why make something leap years beyond.
I am hoping for the SkyZone Sky03 V2! Hope they will release it soon!
EnuffsEnuff318 I think the DJI googles with the Mavic are pretty good... you can put the same transmitter in the smaller quads too but the delay would probably be to long for racing. For freestyling it could be okay.
Ok man iam looking forward to your perfect goggles coming on the market soon...
they not need to freeze. Using digital technology we can transform (rotation, zoom) staled and even live video based on the real sticks input and this can actually give zero latency, which is simple impossible in today products.
Still stuck with box Google's.. 😪😪😪 Thanks Joshua!
Loved the format of this video a lot. Great vid Bardwell! 👍
Fatshark is the Apple of goggles. Small incremental upgrades with sales in mind, just look how many models they have made. Goggle screens could be much better very easily and probably for less. OLED has been around for years and just now they use it? And charge another $100 to boot. My HD3s are only a few months old, no way I'm dropping another $500.
This is simple - lack of real competition.
Found a pair of HD3's today for 360 with a reciever. going from a Teleporter V5
Best review ever - you can't beat the reactions of racers and the degree of personal preference is really interesting. I don't think anyone said they preferred the HD3's.
Great video ! Loved the crowd testing.., I have spent the money... Just waiting for them to arrive!
Crazy to see how far Goggles have come just between then and now
I switched to the HDO from HD3. My living room looks straight out of OZ. Just waiting for a munchkin to top out of nowhere singing.
I like the smaller FOV. I feel that it helps me fly with more precision.
The head strap and face plate padding are nice stock feature.
I would have liked to see the fan power being integrated with the goggle I/O.
Maybe having a power switch on the goggle or on the battery. I hate to keep pulling out and reinserting the barrel connector.
Weight reduction would always be an improvement.
My eyes fit within the IPD and I have close to 20/20 vision, so no issues there.
I have the HD3 and HDO, color saturation, black levels look much better to me in person. With the predator or eagle 2 really vibrant. More clear and crisp. Glad I bought them! HD3 are now backups.
Black background behind the two screen displays in your vid was much improved on your the previous demo, thanks. Guess new pilots will be forced to choose but as a creature of habit / cost, I'll stick with what I have. Habit and familiarity is such a powerful thing ( I seem to struggle to fly without using my trusty lanyard) .
Couldn't agree more - the inevitability of an HDO-2 is what makes me excited, because that will finally be another step beyond what I have enough that I'd want to consider spending money to replace what I have.
Hopefully there will not be a time when built in obsolescence makes an appearance to keep us buying new kit. To date both my doms v1 and v2 have been bullet proof. I had a fault and fatshark servicing was spot on. Good work there Fatshark, not to be undervalued. Relatively recently I upgraded to a diversity receiver, yep, very slow getting round to it but money well spent - a huge improvement bang for buck. Who knows where the next big improvement will come from as it may not be the goggles. A decent image still needs a decent signal. Whatever, things keep getting better. If I was new to this lark I would likely buy the HDO fatsharks. At present I'm squeezing the last drop of fun out of the Dom V2s. They have been a real blast.
By far the best review on googles ever! thank you!
Love these goggle reviews! Keep up the great work!
great job, I will stay with my hd3
What about the new fatsharks! Which are best!?
Nice job on the review of the HDO.
I, however, just bought a pair of hd3’s a few month’s ago, and I’m sticking with those until the next generation for sure. Even though it’s tempting😁
nice to hear all these opinions. if they were a little cheaper, and had a better dvr, on/off button and a larger ipd range.. id buy them but they just seem to be a small incremental upgrade.. hmm i hope the next model is a total re-design.
Best video about these goggles I've seen.
Needed to see this vid. Thanks for making JB. Got mine back ordered.
Great video with all the people getting to try and say what they think! 🙌🏽 I think I need the HDO's 🤤
It seems like the people with poorer vision were the least impressed by them. As a marketing guy, I notice either people notice crisper images or not some something like social media. My guess is the best trained eyes are noticing the difference. My biggest concern is how long they will wear without screen burn from the OSD.
Greetings from Russia! I choose my first fpv goggles, I have the same question. How long will this oled display last?
@@Hugo-kv7qf I just bought the HDOS, I am interested to know as well, how long will they last?
Thank you for all your efforts though
For someone who hasn't had fatsharks yet. Should I get the smaller fov, higher resolution HDO or bigger fov, lower resolution HD3?
hi joshua .. can i know how to fix the brightness in farshark goggle?
I just sold my HD2s for 300 bucks and got the HD3 for 330 of Hobbyking :D That is such a nice upgrade deal for me that it is just not a discussion wether the HDOs could be better.. Maybe in a year, when they drop the price like the HD3, I would change, considering Fatshark goggles have an extremely low value drop over time...
Next time the wife really screws up I am getting a HDO :D
Roee Mazor or you could be the man of the house and just buy them...
man up dude
Game of Drones hehe, I wanna try em out first :)
Roee Mazor I know right, I can’t see paying $500 for them when I just got a set of dominators 3 months ago lol
Game of Drones yeah its getting crazy expensive! I can build another really nice quad with that money (or more than 1 lol)
I believe that all the hate on these goggles are coming from people that spent $400-$500 On HD3's in the past year. So from their perspective, of course it's not worth upgrading. But to just say flat out the goggles aren't worth the price tag I think comes from this skewed perspective. I paid $500 for my HDv1's three and a half years ago and I just picked up the HDO's and they are totally worth it. But it's all perspective, you just have to try them for yourself.
500 is a lot of money. At least to most people.
Henry Griffiths when you are talking about a hobby where you are taking a $300-$400 piece of electronics with a $200-$300 gopro strapped to it and are inevitably going to smash it into the ground and hit trees/Gates at high speeds.... $500 for something that sits on your face and will last years seems pretty negligible imo
I wish we had older dudes in our local community, thats awesome!
Joshua, let me say my HD2 which did not work for me so when i swap the optics of my HD into the HD2 body i got perfect flying goggles, getting 45 degrees FOV, and i can tell you now i would stay on my goggles and only buy the HDO maybe???? for 399
I came here after a year long hiatus hoping to find something a lot better than my old Dom 2s that I have the V3 upgrades on . From all the comparisons , I just don't see a leap forward in quality that will change the experience for me . A better test here would be to somehow not let the person know which goggles they were putting on and get their reaction .
I have been flying box googles for a year now, a week ago, a fpv buddy showed me his dominator v2... i really dont know what to think
Hi. It seems to me the ones that loved the hdo were younger with possibly better eyes .I have very poor eyesight almost opposite to Joshes . and have had to cut up a pair of specs to fit my aomways .
I get my glasses from zeni optical $45 AU a pair and good .
I live in mid west Western Australia , about as far from the real world as I can get.
Cheers
I just bought a hd3 core and it is on the way. I got it for $370 after discount. After seeing more reviews on hdo I am very convinced it has better screen quality. I am coming from attitude v3 either one definitely is an improvement. But hd3 is $130 cheaper and I do not think I can go wrong. Money does not grow on tree. It is tested. Still in the back of my mind i have a craving for hdo. Who doesn't want the best. With the saving I just need pay extra $20 to get the rapidfire module. I hope I will not regret it.
can you do a similar video where you compare all the good goggles out there? aomway commander, dominator v3, flysight, hd2, hd3, hdo, skyzone etc.. just a side-by-side roundup of all of them.
That would require a LOT of cameras and assistants.
I appreciate the work you do. I'm new to FPV but I bought V3 last fall and love them just fine. The controls kind of stink but I won't be longing for these new ones. maybe next gen.
I wish that you can choose or like have an option of when you buy the HDO you have an option do you want 30 Degree field of view or 40 or 50 that would be the best
It was a tough decision to buy something I don't "need" but I ended up with the HD3- no regrets, the extra $100 would have been worth it If I knew if burn in was an issue, but I have OCD on that kind of thing and played it safe.
My first "good" pair of slim goggles, I came from multiple box goggles, and I was just fed up with that heft and bulk.
finally an interview with more than someone being paid to review them.... definitely will be waiting until the next hype comes out lol
Have you tried with 1080p 60Hz input from the hdmi output from the furious hdmi adapter ?
Thanks mate been waiting for the hd3 vs hdo's my opinion this is not a upgrade but another choice if that makes sence
So the way I see it, I’m getting a pair of HDO for $100. I ordered a pair of hd3 the week before the hdo came out. I was going to spend 400 anyway and over the circa 3 years I’ll be using the goggles, how do I feel about spending an extra 100? Also how will I feel this time next year if I didn’t order the hdo? Considering all this, I’m sending the hd3 back and getting some hdo from the next batch when they come out. It’s a personal choice and I’m always complaining about fatshark issues, but this is as good as it gets in the hobby right now and since I’m coming from Dom v2, it’s going to be a massive upgrade.
I was looking for my first goggle and considered starting at the top with these HDO's...but i didn't, and ordered the v4's. They arrive tomorrow. Seems like an ok place to start...
thank you for this video, i appreciate the real world pov to why and whot not in regards to buying these
What do you think 💭 comparing this new baby to the glyph avegants? I have them and I didn’t find any better till today.
I'm going to have to find someone with the HD0's in IL your side by side the HD3's had more detail to me witch doesn't make sense and I like the bigger screen. I'm looking to finally upgrade from my Skyzone GS500's I think they are the best box goggles.
Jason Bartlett yeah, I noticed the same thing, the hdos had more contrast but the hd3 had more detail. I’m trying to choose between these two for my first pair of goggles. Do you know of any hobby shops in IL that would let me test out the hd3? I’ve been looking forever and can’t find any.
Am I weird for like the attitude the most out of every hd goggle? Hd2 hd3 and I may need to try the hdo again but the smaller fov of attitude feel better
The 37 degrees FOV kills it for me, had they been on par with the HD3 or even my HD2 I'd be twitching and looking at my bank balance.
licensetodrive Same here, all the way.
I'll always remember the 1991 BBC Horizon program Colonizing Cyberspace (ie, VR) where someone was talking about developing a HUD for fighter aircraft and they said that VR FOV up to about 60 degrees you feel like you're looking at a picture on a wall, but about 80 degrees and over then you feel like you're in the picture.
If your vision is good, then I would agree. But my vision is terrible, so 37 degrees compared to the 50 degrees FOV of my HD2's is a huge difference. My first pair of "real" goggles were the Aomway Commander V1's, and I sold them immediately because 32 degrees is way too small. I must say, I really want to try out the HDO's before coming to any conclusions.
37 degrees FOV isn't that massive when you're used to 50.
I bought some EV100's as spectator goggles, the 28 degrees FOV is just about flyable for me but I fly better with my HD2's because my eyesight isn't perfect and when I get tired my right eye can wanders making it especially hard to line up the small displays, which isn't such an issue with the 50 degrees of HD2's.
licensetodrive I'm in the same exact boat, right down to it being my right that wanders as well. I stricly use my left eye, making the 50 degrees fov very desirable.
Joshua what is the best goggles lately.
Should have asked if they had to by a new set of goggles right now what would they choose. A lot harder to justify the expense when you have something half decent already.
There it is, man. Thanks!
Just bought HDO and Im very dissapointed. The image is very blurry at the edges, cant fly with them more than 5 mins as my eyes gets itchy. I have perfect eyes, my IPD is in range of the goggles. Just cant help myself ... Any advice? I wrote to fatshark support .. As I googled, it was quite an issue even with previous fatsharks ...
If you have a 16:9 cam, do the goggles not even display with black bars, they just stretch out the image?
Correct. Some goggles have the ability to letterbox or pillarbox the image, but these don't.
I just got notice these were available from my Canadian retailer. With the LaForge V4 and diversity module, almost 900 $ Cad. Yup, I just bought them.
i just reviewed this again and Joshua i can tell you why HD3 isnt as sharp, it the plastic optics, try the HD1 optics. I replaced the optics of my HD2 and placed the HD1 and i can tell you they are 3 pcs glass optics far superior than plastic lenses. Ive recently tried the HDO, im not gonna replace my HD2 with HD1 glass optics.
I think FatShark has to do something because they are now dealing with competition that never was there before. On the HDO's I will have to see them first, but so far, as an HD3 owner I don't think I will be changing anything anytime soon. If it was awesome and 50FOV then my attitude would be different. Thanks for the vid Josh.
How are you testing these? Same camera Everytime? Or does the camera/goggle combo not really matter?
Whatever camera is available when we shout, "SOMEBODY GO UP SO WE CAN TEST THESE GOGGLES!"
I do have to say, the HDO plus the RunCam Eagle in Skitzo's quad was nearly jaw-dropping. But I already love the Eagle so...
Joshua Bardwell that's what I figured. Thank you for the reply
Will the HDO with the Runcam HD split micro or Caddx HD have a noticable difference in picture quality?
Question smoked 2 control boards connecting a buzzer ,is there something I should know about 2 wire buzzers from BG.
Generally all you need to do is solder them to buzzer+ and buzzer-.
Hey JB my x4r-sb went out and I replaced it with a brand new one and now my telemetry doesn’t work, still have the settings and got rssi. Any suggestions? Maybe would make a good troubleshooting episode
Since you know your config is fine, the problem is probably in your wiring.
Joshua Bardwell the wiring worked before and I left it soldered up just swapped the main unit, so you think my telemetry wire is broken and I should just swap it out? I’ll give it a shot. Thanks
is HDMI working? I can not connect it to my MacBook at all... And it looks like a common problem
I'm a tad colorblind and could definitely see colors better with the HDOs. Looks to be worth it but I'll wait for another version, 16:9 with a HD DVR.
do you still have the topskys can we get a look through them with your camera setup from andyrc they seemed to have no screen door pixel effect. i also have seen ppl run trued on them firm ware flips image too.
Topsky image is large and relatively clear from edge to edge but very washed out. But Topsky goggles as a whole have a lot of manufacturin and design issues that mean I can't recommend them, even though the image is not terrible.
thanks i was thinking about why ppl thought they would get more from fatshark eachine ev200 specs and images with quadversity at 300 they may never come out but it put an image in the minds of whats to come thinking fatshark would drop a titan got to have model.
How can the possible resolution of these goggles be recognized when the signal from the fpv cam isn´t even better than 600TVL (and for sure far away from 720p)?
I agree that 960 resolution is more than is needed for SD but remember these goggles are sometimes also used with HDMI input from HD sources.
Press 0 on your keyboatd a few times :) Great video
haha :D
Wut is thus?
I feel like im too dumb to understand what ya mean
You can't notice it from your video, but do YOU, personally, notice the smaller FOV and do you regret not having 16:9 capability? I'm currently rocking HD3's and, quite honestly, I'm probably not going to upgrade to anything until it's digital. But I would be interested in your opinions on my two above questions.
I don't run any 16:9 cameras so I don't miss widescreen and actually I prefer 4:3. I think the 37 degree FOV is noticeable but not a deal-breaker for better image quality.
Thank you. As I say, if I were just starting out, I'd get an HDO. Owning a HD3, it's just not worth it to me. I also run mostly 4:3 now, I guess the "option" is nice, but it's not a dealbreaker. I think the FOV would bother me IF I were going from HD3's to HDO's, but otherwise, no. Quality review and appreciate the response.
RMRC sent me an email on 4/23 that said the HDOs were shipping that week so I ordered them right then. Still says shipping any day on their web site so i emailed them and they are now telling me that they won't be shipping for another freakin month! Bad thing is I had a chance to sell my HD3s so I did thinking that i would be getting the new ones soon so i am screwed. I don't know if Fatshark found an issue but thats a messed up way to do business by RMRC and Fatshark. At least GetFPV has the truth on their site.
Real pilots. Real knowledge
It seems crazy to me that they aren't able to letterbox into 16:9 at the very minimum.
I recently put my Commanders back on after flying with my HD2s and realized I hate the FOV of the HD2s, my flying improved significantly, so I think the HDOs would be perfect for me.
perfect review. I am not going to switch Thanks Jogh
I would like to see the HDO displays two years later of usage, if they will be that colorfull...
the side by side looked awful for the HDOs. Why did it look substantially better against the HD2s in your previous video? Possibly the cloudy weather
I will find a pair IRL to stick my eyeballs in
for some reason Joshua doesn't own a Gopro. Other have done similar comparos that make this one look really poorly done. They used a Gopro
Joshua, What is your favorite FPV camera and what angle of inclination do you use?
thanks a lot, in terms of numbers its FSV1122-02 , I checked banggood and the HDO we can pre - order is coming with 18650 battery case and not the 2S lipo , also I asked painless360 and he confirmed it does exist, but you are the one I would listen at the end of the day , personally prefer the 18650 battery case , but dont want to buy something is not the real thing, specially at these prices , I also check the official fatshark website and there was noting about a version with battery case instead of 2S, so ,,, Dont know what to do ?! is there any way to make sure of it some how please ? so many thanks Master ,
p.s. I don't think banggood is cheating, maybe its the core version as painless 360 called it, like what they did with HD3 , what do you think ?!, God,, sorry I'm getting crazy, ;-\/
I also prefer the 18650 case. Banggood is an authorized Fat Shark retailer so I would believe this is a legit product and it just has not been widely announced yet. Maybe they ran out of the 2S batteries and are substituting the 18650 case instead.
I bought HD3s a little over a month ago. I bought HD2s and SE goggles and I still use my Dom V2s because the contrast and image quality is better. I've been disappointed in fatshark so many times, I can't justify giving them anymore of my money.
The reason i still use my v3s is because i love a small fov as it doesn't distract you. Thats why i don't like the hd3's but idk about the hdo's
I have dom v3`s and have the blur edges.. is it worth going for hdo or hd3`s?
How did the rapidfire module look in them?
What camera was on the quad?
The 4 things that are important to me. 1. Price! 2. Screen size! Measured diagonally and focal point distance. (FOV of the monitor) 3. Resolution or DPI. 4. Aspect Ratio! In that order.
If fat shark would put this data on each of the goggles it would make it easy to choose and easy to compare. But they do not! This is what I hate about the fat shark goggles.
On a budget it is hard to get a good grasp of what would be best for me. The opinion of others is highly subjective and it is hard to rely on. OLED is better on everything no matter what the device but it itself is not enough to justify $500. The resolution is great but what about the size of the screen? To me it just looks like the monitor was reduced in size and not really increasing the resolution thus increasing the DPI. But I can not say that for sure since i can not find the actual monitor specs for the other fat shark goggles. The ATTITUDE V4 also have OLED monitors but I do not know what the resolution is and why not compare these with the HDO just for the contrast and colors!. To me it looks like fat shark just wants to confuse customers. Any comments or suggestions welcome.
Is there any goggle that has a good FOV. I like my box goggles for that reason
HD2 has the widest FOV of any FatShark in recent memory. You can still find them used.
i bet some of them are probly on the hdo now
It's interesting that the HD3's look sharper in the side by side.
Definitely. There is no doubt you could tweak the camera, as well as the goggle settings to give identical color/contrast. I for one see what amounts to zero difference.
The HD3 looks like a different receiver unit in it ..noticed a difference the other day with experimenting with various bands in my fatshark.. goggles ...ended up going back to my flysight...spx`s...
Lots of used HD3's for sale on FB right now
Wait until fatshark releases the HDR with full Retina display, they’ll be a grand at least. (When they actually make them anyway, that’s just a guess at what they’ll be called)
Can this test be done as a blind test? Don't tell people what they are using, then their responses will be unbiased
It's impossible to do this as a blind test. The difference in the screens is totally obvious. There is no way anybody would confuse one for the other.
ok I can understand that, OR choose people like me that have never wore either??
I'd love to try them, but I really like the FOV on my HD2s... I'd have a hard time giving that up.
Hey Joshua- and anyone else with knowledge- what are your thoughts on new gopro cameras? It appears that the Hero 5 Session is discontinued, and the 'cube' form factor won't be used in any upcoming models.. i think. Is this true? As someone who doesn't have a [Hero 5] camera, should I be trying to snag one asap? I was planning on getting one eventually, like several months from now, but since the Hero 5 is discontinued and the new base model Gopro kinda sucks, is a Hero 5 a worthwhile investment? Will there be a more FPV friendly coming out later? Thanks!
yeah you should get one but i hear they arent under full warranty like before soon they wont be in the stores only online then price can do anything.
there is runcam coming with new cube camera
Soo, I can't wait for the HDO2 Goggles. If they go bit 16:9 OLED screen, then I will be among the massive hordes screaming "Curse you Joshua Bardwell" because we'll be spending lots of money.
Will hdo work with Fimi X8 we
I tried HDO and I own the dominators 3 and quite frankly do not see the value of the HDO.
I keep going back to my 7" screen on top of my transmitter. I know it looks kind of silly but I've had 3 fatshark models (not the HDO's) and thought they were all just ok... I hate the screen door effect!! The tech just isn't there yet. Fatshark needs to step it up for the next model!
It’s funny the young eyes liked them unless the FOV was an issue. The old eyes didn’t think they were a significant improvement. With my old eyes, I’m 52 the HD3 is excellent. As you get older your eyesight resolution diminishes. So picking up that clarity is counterintuitive. Especially when corrective lenses are involved.
Is it just me or is the HDO not as smooth framerate wise? Like it might still be 60FPS or whatever it displays at but it seems like the pixels don't refresh quite as fast or at least in the footage I saw there. Probably something i'd have to see for myself, but it just seems like it's a little sluggish in the video. Hopefully I can run into some people with both so I can try them on in person. The clarity sounds nice, but I do rather like buttery smooth FPS. There's a reason I have three 144hz screens to game on :P
I didn't quite have time to watch the whole video at the moment but i'll come back for it, just wanted to see some footage of them side by side.
The HDO is smoother in person in my opinion.
Camera recording probably doesnt capture the same refresh rate. I wonder if fpv cameras have something to do with it too.. it’s like gsync.. is the camera rate synced up with a higher refresh rate screen? Especially at low latency.. though im not sure. Whats the max fps an fpv camera can record at?
Currently have the HD3's and am really on the fence about switching over to these. Sounds like (from the RC Groups thread and recent RR podcast) the next size up OLED optics we all would be hoping for (42-45 degree FOV) would almost double the price. I'd like to wait around for another year to see what the HDOv2 would be but have a feeling it would just include some of the bells / whistles that people are complaining about (i.e. power button. . . BTW, why the hell is a power button so important, what is so inconvenient about unplugging / plugging in a barrel connector?)
*Edit. . . NM. . . who wants to buy some gently used HD3s lol These damn online retailers always send that email "Hey, saw this in your cart, well here's free shipping, better checkout before they're all gone!!"
