    Fantastic job blending your background 2D buildings/terrain into the foreground 3D stuff. Hard to tell where the real stuff stops and the fake stuff starts. I know that's really hard to do, but you have one of the best I've seen.

    Super awesome! The proto throttle with momentum, absolutely adds more realism to the locomotive operations, and you have it programmed just right! Great job as always. 👍

      I second that. The way you have the Proto Throttle set up, with momentum and braking, significantly enhances the realism of the operations. With a little practice, an operator can throttle his switcher almost exactly like a prototype.
      I definitely want to try a prototype throttle myself.

    That ADM plant is really coming along. I love your approach to construction; where you develop scenes as you go along. Constructing a big layout & finishing one stage before moving onto the next is a good way to burn out.

    • @SeaboardCentral
      @SeaboardCentral  Рік тому +3

      Thanks! Yes, some folks choose to build all the Benchwork then do all the trackwork and so on and so on. Not me. I’d go nuts if I did it that way. I build one area at a time to a semi finished stage before moving on to the next. This way I get to operate one part while I am starting the other. Keeps things interesting and avoids burnout.

      Thanks Deryk! Yes sir, the ProtoThrottle is a lot of fun when you have the decoder programmed right. You never go back to the other controllers.

    This section could be a layout by itself! very nice. I like your proto throttle. Even without the proto throttle I program my decoders with maximum momentum and use the brake to stop the train. It just looks, sounds and feels so much more realistic. I would enjoy a video on how you program the decoder to work with the proto throttle, particularly using only 8 throttle notches. As always nice video, Thanks

    Nice one. Do you push the spotted cars in one by one occasionally too? I assume only one car gets loaded / unloaded at a time? For brits like me who are unfamiliar with some of the US operations and terms, could you do a short video of what the plant takes in and where, and what the plant puts out, please?

    • @SeaboardCentral
      @SeaboardCentral  Рік тому +2

      Thanks! I plan on putting in some car pullers which are large ship type ropes attached to an electric motor. There is a hook on the end of the rope that can be attached to the cars and pull them slowly through the building. I’ll be sure to show them in a future video. I also plan on producing a car forwarding video early next year to show how cars are routed. As far as this plant goes, it receives inbound loads of corn and produces outbound loads of DDGs and ethanol. Tim

    • @SeaboardCentral
      @SeaboardCentral  Рік тому

      Thanks Gary! I use uncoupling picks to uncouple my cars. No under the layout magnets. Personally, I don’t like the trip pins. They aren’t realistic looking and are a distraction due to their size compared to the semi scaled couplers I use. Eventually, all of my cars will be equipped with magnetic air hoses. Tim
