@@ShadowFri3ndDark Souls has a much stronger thematic through line in my opinion. It deals with themes that are more personal and relatable compared to Elden Ring.
ER is obviously trying to do something different and there's nothing wrong with that. It just means it never really gripped me the way DS did.

This song gets way more powerful when you have the true dark souks experience which is getting stuck at a fog wall and dying over 50 times but not giving up. After yourblast rage quit youve decided once again that you WILL succeed even if the odds are stacked against you. This song embodies that feeling of being void of hope. Sitting in perpetual despair. You will not overcome without great struggle. And yet.... the ashen one rises once again.
If you're going up against bosses 50 times without winning, you should maybe change your strategy.
@@Sekowon this was part of me learning how to play souls games and/or being stubborn about a boss. For example my first real run of souls was ds3 and therefore iudex gundyr BEAT MY ASS until i learned how to really play. So i definitely had more than 50 deaths by him alone. More recently margit in elden ring beat my ass too more than 50 deaths because i was just plain too stubborn. I had a terrible build but thought that my skill would cover the difference. It did not. But i got gud all over again in that struggle. Dying is part of the process

This still beats the Elden Ring menu theme for me. And I don't say it lightly considering that theme also absolutely slaps.
it's funny that this was chosen as the main menu theme because it was originally supposed to be the final boss theme, which was Pontiff (going by a different name of course.)
Good thing because pontiff was entirely forgettable and definitely felt like a random halfway point boss.
If u don't pay attention to lore and if u decide to parry him then yea I suppose he would be, otherwise you are wrong.
@@churro5322he felt random because his final boss moveset I believe was just placed halfway through. I’m sure if he really was the final boss he’d have a lot more characterization than he got, but his character is still INCREDIBLY important

Fromsoft are the creators of the ost and the Game bandai are just publishers
@@kpsproductions5768 Fromsoft created the OST, but Bandai were the ones who copyright struck all of the highest quality OST videos, thus letting the fire fade. Because of that, I might have to boot up the game just to listen.

Ds3 was an ode, a love letter, and most importantly a goodbye to a dying world and its final moments. And for that, unlike bloodborne, it's not terrifying, nor is it sad, it's somber and simply quiet, nowhere near the grand scale it once was. And for that i can't help but call dark souls peak writing because throughout all of the three games it told a story of a world that was blinded by it's own desires and hatred between each other, and in the end slowly died due to that. It encapsulates a part of the beauty of life no other series tend to even try to and that's what makes it so amazing in the end

This main theme really embodies the "stakes have never been higher" motif where legends and gods alike have given up on this decaying world where lord kings great minds and progenitors of history have said nah fuck it we no longer care where duty honor lineage matter not ... not anymore its very heroic but also sorrowful like a mourning theme signifying an end of a cycle that has lasted millennia where one door closes a new one opens and the age of dark has been kept at bay long enough.
I'll always remember the first time I started the game and was greeted by the ominous choir. It's like the game was saying "you picked the wrong house, fool".
Add to the fact that I never played any souls game before so I noped out and played from the first Dark Souls to show respect. Best decision of my life.

For me the 1st time i heard this theme it told the story of our journey in soulsborne up to this point to the player
From going all the way back to demon souls as "the slayer of demons"
To dark souls 1 as "the chosen undead"
To dark souls 2 as "the bearer of the curse"
To bloodborne as "the good hunter"
All these heros we played with, all these adventures we experienced, the challenges we faced, the journey we took, the tremendous odds we overcame, and the fate we chose for the world at the end of our adventures.
All cuminating to now... the end of the dark souls games! Dark souls 3! Starting as "the ashen one"
The end of dark souls! And the beginning of new journeys in soulsborne.
While knowing this is your final adventure in the dark souls games, you felt encouraged, and heard rootings from " the slayer of demons, the chosen undead, the bearer of the curse, and the good hunter" to finish your last adventure in the last dark souls game!

I tried to play Dark Souls games but it was too difficult, but I can tell you that I did persevere into the Souls games, Dark Souls 3 would be my favorite because of its fantastic soundtrack.

It has been 4 years since i finished dark 1 2 3 + dlc and secret bosses along with all weapons and boss souls and later lost my ps4 along with all the games progress and I'm only have some of my games that i buy on disc(spider-man 1 god of war 4 nioh 2 gta and few others) and since dark 1 and 2(along with the rest games) were buy from ps store i have no interest on buying them again so 3 years later i got a ps5 and buy some games and a year later now i am finally beating skyrim on my second playthrough and i just finished watching a UA-camr playing dark souls 1 for the first time and this got me to watch the ost of the dark souls series again and since dark souls 3 was my first soulborn game i am having tears in my eyes right now thinking of everything i did on the game and i feel like there are voices of the characters from dark souls 1 2 3 along with my own soul calling me to come back and reclaim my throne so now ones i beat skyrim again i will beat dark souls 3 and get all the weapons armors souls of the bosses and in the mean time i will save some money to buy dark souls 1 and 2 again and do the same thing all over
