    Great tips 👍 I like kohlrabi, I often eat it raw, grated and marinated in vinegar and olive oil 💚 I also make juice 🧃

      Sounds really good grated and marinated. I'll have to try that one of these days. Thanks for the tip. Hope all is well!

    Love Kohlrabi, I think it tastes like broccoli stem, which happens to be my favorite part about broccoli.

    Thanks for the video. We have some growing in our garden but I had no idea what to do with it. Good to know I can just eat it raw.

    Raw! :) This is new to me. Just saw this vegetable once in a specialty deli. Wasn't expensive. I'll probably try it-raw. Thanks!

      It's very good raw. Not super sweet, crunchy,, and juicy. You should definitely try it! Let me know what you think when you do.

    Apparently some of these seeds were mixed in with my cabbage seeds that I bought.
    I have 2 of these coming up in my garden.
    I guess I will be trying it this summer.

    I'm ashamed to admit I've never tried this. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for one. It kind of looked like and reminded me of jicama, does it taste anything like that?

    • @ChrisThePlantBasedRunner
      @ChrisThePlantBasedRunner  10 років тому

      Yep I was scared to try it for a long time and now it is one of my favorite snacks. I don't think I have ever had Jicama. I'll have to grab one next time I see it and find out if they are close or not.

    • @TheVeggieNut
      @TheVeggieNut 10 років тому +1

      I will try a kohlrabi and you have to try a jicama. They are so good! Crispy, yet watery. I love it! I will let you know when I try one. Looking forward to it!
      Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    It’s better to peal it with a peeler not to waste half of it. I’m diabetic and not allowed to eat fries so I cut the kohlrabi in fingers and imagine eating fries.super yummy and healthy

    I've always had it raw, cut into 1/4's and just like an apple down the hatch

    I I accidently spilled a bunch of kohl rabi seeds in my seed starting mix and have a ton of it now growing! Oops. Ha ha. I plan to eat with home made hummus. I think I did a good job imitating Whole foods hummus. They list lemon powder as an ingredient. So I ordered lemon peel powder and also use some ascorbic acid to add it it. Adds that tart taste you get from really good hummus. Whole foods is the best store bought hummus. They ruined it for everyone else lol.

    The "Arms" are actually stems. The "bottom part" is the root. He cuts half the damn thing away to the trash, how wasteful!!!!!!
