Brother you got it right. Pantera loved their fans like they were best friends. I met Dimebag Darrell backstage and he was literally there for 6 hours talking to everyone who wanted to meet him. It was daylight when he finally took off to the hotel. But he made dam sure that every single person there got a chance to talk to him and get a autograph. I did a shot with Dime and Vinny, and they were two of the most down to earth guys you could ever want to meet. They weren't about the money, they were about the love of music and the connection with the fans! Rest in peace Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott and Vinny Paul Abbott.
I have watched many, *MANY* reactions to this, and only once did I see someone *NOT* headbang.... I immediately reported the reaction for crimes against Humanity, and considered them Aliens from some other world.
That my man is what's known as dime time! R.I.P. to the great Abbott Brothers! Big Vin and Dimebag will live forever, thankfully through videos and recording! Metal legends.
I’m late to the game here! Phil (lead singer) has permanent damage in his body from performing so hard! Nobody can or has matched him!! 🖤🤘Welcome to the Metal militia my friend!!! We love having you here!!
I love it so much! The anticipation of seeing the reaction to that massively epic breakdown at the end is priceless! I watch every reaction video just for that alone! 🤘💀🤘
These are my brothers and I love and miss them so much. Back in the day it was rare to see a black man at a metal concert. Now days when I see the mix of the crowd it makes me very happy, just like when i go to a Rap or any other concert and I may be one of the few white guys there but we are all vibbin' together, it just shows don't buy into the stereotypes and listen to EVERYTHING. Enrich your world and allow the music to take you places you haven't been before. Peace and love to you Lex!
That's why I love the punk scene! Especially the 2-tone ska!! Check out "the SPECIALS" they're the ones that SMASHED the wall down! Just read a quote from Einstein! "Its amazing! We have the power and understanding to take smash and take apart an atom!.... but we cannot smash prejudice" With the (well my country, US) way the country has been in the past few years! Its broken my soul to go from such HIGHS! (I cried watching Obama's 2nd inauguration and literally said aloud to myself "were winning! The old dinosaurs are dying off! Theres finally a change!) The the lowest lows of seeing the racism and slurs come out from people whom I used to respect. We basically got a Orange David Duke facist in there. To always have the SPECIALS tango and listen to! Theres still a spot in the sun and the world for all of us whom HATE the HATERS of sex, race or sexual orientation. As long as the fire is in our hearts!!! We can burn down ALL the walls that prejudice can try and build!🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘💚🖤💚🖤💚🍻🍻
his face after the squeal is the face everyone makes and knowing that someone else has the exact same feeling in that moment, is why there will never be another band to perform live like pantera could, and i was born 08, 4 years after dime died, and 6 after pantera broke up, but pantera will always be my favorite band, forever.
Pantera and Slayer gained their fan base through awesome live performances and constant touring that being said I love both bands, they always gave their best to the fans and we loved them for it
This world will never see anyone like the Abbott brothers ever again.I grew up thru the 80s and 90s.What a awesome time to be alive and to experience all the wonderful metal and rock musicians of that era .Just wish i could have met Dime and Vin.EVH as well
Sick. Their shows were something else. They put the best in metal, they found the groove. They also made Metal fun vs the 80’s devil, war etc themes. Likely the 3rd most influential metal band ever.
Not a trance, a huge group of shared love and respect. Was fortunate enough to see them live 7 times. Even more fortunate to meet and hang with them 4 of those times.
Best single live performance ever for me, personally...how can this not make you just wanna wreck everything in sight? I did for about 20 years...my house, my neck, my endocrine system....I feel like shit everyday now in my 40s because Pamtera was the soundtrack to my youth. I would pound a couple bottles of liquor while listening to metal, and end up going nuts and running my head through a wall or refrigerator or whatever was around haha. Good times!
Ok I was born and raised just north of Arlington, Texas( a suburb of Dallas) where Pantera is from. I was in the military, stationed at Ft Lewis, WA. I took a black and Hispanic member of my Ranger platoon to a Pantera show up in Seattle, in 1993. They were both a little iffy on being at a metal concert. They had ever heard Pantera before that. I purposely made sure that they didn’t play any of their music around them. I wanted to see a pure reaction to seeing them live! They were blown away, and ended up in the mosh pit, by the middle of the show! They might merch and later all the music in the catalog at that time. For maybe three years, all you heard was Pantera rocking all through the Company barracks and in everyone’s trucks and cars. You’re welcome, boys, was all I could say! I even got everyone drinking Jack And Jimmy and dipping Copenhagen. I still have my Texas State Flag signed by every guy in that company, and even the Battalion Chaplain! About 95% of them either signed it with “Cowboys From Hell” or “WWPD” (What Would Pantera Do). 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Yeah, it's so obvious, how Vinnie & Darrell interact - feed off each other... Like they have been playing together since childhood - Dime is an elite guitarist, and, Vinnie ain't no slouch on the drums.... He may be the hardest hitter since Bill Ward of Black Sabbath, or the 'late' legend John Bonham of Led Zep. Vinnie beats them like they owe him money. He wears leather gloves for grip, and plays with inverted sticks. . Monster
You stopped it right before dimebag did his bottle rocket tremelo move!!!! Remember, this was LIVE! No screwups, never missed a beat!!!! I will guarantee you that metallica didn't want to even go out on stage after that! RIP Dimebag Darrel (guitar) and his brother on drums, Vinnie Paul!
Pantera is and always will be the best Metal band ever, to me!! But even to this day nobody can make a guitar scream like Dimebag Darrell could 🤘🤘 so happy you enjoyed Pantera 🤘🤘
They opened for metallica. Only band to make metallica "shrink" ( not being able to overcome the energy they unveiled to the crowd) over 1 million humans fucking rocking out
Hmmm. I almost missed this one. Phil does get cracked in the head with guitars and microphones and various other things and keeps on performing. He does it to himself sometimes, for inspiration. There's footage of him getting whacked by a guitar atop his head with his other, other band Down and finishing the song with blood running all over his face and shirt.
Gives me chills seeing dimebag so thankful I seen pantera in 2000. Look at Phil’s t shirt it’s Tyson vs Holyfield the fight that didn’t happen because Tyson went to prison
I remember this like it was yesterday, Part of Monsters of metal tour 1992, This was done in Russia, First metal concert allowed in Russia after the all of the USSR in 1991.
Dimebag had that certain sound and swag about his sound and style. When you hear dimebag you know, Eddie Van Halen and Randy Roads had the same signature sounds
Pretty much every domination reaction: "u see how many people are there" "I thought he was gonna hit him w the guitar" (Captivation from dimebags solo) (Bob head to heaviest breakdown ever)
Whelp, Pantera went on at 1300. When my Brothers in Arms and I went to Moscow, we had to get a briefing from our G2 (Intel) on what was going on. We took 10 days of leave, went there, and had a fuckin great time. The Russian kids that were there were cool as all hell. We stayed at a shitty hotel that had rooms like prison cells. Ah, good times man. God bless the Army for giving me the opportunity to see Pantera live in Moscow. And Pantera, what you saw on their videos? They weren't kidding, man. Thos fuckin commie conscripts with the rubber Rodney sticks took full swings on kids in the pit, man! It really upset us. We went into the pit by the sound board. Fuckin commie conscripts tried to swing on us. No no no..."We're Americans, fuckstick! Lay the fuck off! You hit me with that shit? We're about to have an international incident motherfucker!" my brother from the South Dakota rez told them in perfect Russian. Their eyes got real big and they laid back and let us have our fun. Fuckers! For that whole festival? Shit, from hanging out with Russian metalheads after the show? Holy shit! All I can say is this. Music brought us together. Two people from two different countries, totally different ideologies, yet found Brotherhood through music. Our species sucks, man! Signed, A Veteran
An awesome display of Crowd control in a live concert that'll probably blow your mind, is Spit it out at The Download Festival by Slipknot. Not sure of the year though. Any concert where they play that song will blow your mind. But try and find the one Joey (R.I.P) is revolving on his drum kit sitting vertically while rotating! Very cool!
This is the same concert where Metallica performed songs like "Enter Sandman" and "Creeping Death" (based on the story in the Bible about the seven plagues)... The Monsters of Rock concert in Moscow 1991 is such a once in a lifetime moment.,. Great reaction video!
It was around the collapse of the Soviet Union, and people came that were never able to go there before. This was a 2 or 3 day festival to announce Russia was open for business and touring.
Man besides the music and the powerfull performance, look at the iconic t shirt that Phil Anselmo is using. Tyson x Holifield. Riff in peace Dime. Drum in peace Vin.
I think there was near a million in that crowd that day, the highest attendance report was 1.6 million and 20, 000 russian army were posted there and loads of fans got beaten. But if I was there I wouldn't give a toss. This is music with soul and unity. It's not popular mainstream and us metallers don't want it that way.
No one out there in this generation understands how motherfuking powerful this concert was and how relevant it is to the times we're living in with Russia and the Ukraine people just want to be free and as one if you watch the full concert you see the soldiers go from beating the kids with sticks to ripping off their shirt and taking part of the f****** crowd and throwing up their hands and their sticks in their badges away in rocking out as one what the fuc why can't we have that now the stuff has gone to s*** since someone walked up on the stage and took Dimebag from the world the baddest motherfuker ever🤘 this is more metal than the World Trade Center
His is Darrell Lance Abbot. He was an amazing dude. He was legendary before he was murdered. He didn't have beef with anyone, didn't overdose, or kill himself. He was just the best metal guitarist and so down to earth.
Phil was also performing that way as drunk as he can be to mask the back injury pain from performing the way he did. He would not get his back fixed so he could stay on the road and do his thing.
I love seeing people’s reaction to seeing Dimebag live for the first time
i saw "the IdoL" 13 times and my biggest regret is not going to see DAMAGEPLAN at the ogdenThree3 weeks before the worst day of eartH GetchapulL66
I agree, and he truly likes it
Seriously - makes me so happy. Dimebag loved playing- he wanted people happy and he did it!
I seen them in 2000 with slayer R.I.P. dime and vinnie
This to me is the greatest live performance by a guitarist, the never missed a note.
Brother you got it right. Pantera loved their fans like they were best friends. I met Dimebag Darrell backstage and he was literally there for 6 hours talking to everyone who wanted to meet him. That breakdown is so heavy it created a black hole.
I think you have to say 'African American' hole now bro...be careful 😉
Right!!!
They didnt know..
Bro they where the kings of metal in the 90s all there songs and albums are awesome
RIP Dime and Vinny!! Love ya guys! The GOATS of groove metal!!
❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻❤️
In my country it is actually illegal not to headbang during that heavy ass breakdown
I have watched many, *MANY* reactions to this, and only once did I see someone *NOT* headbang.... I immediately reported the reaction for crimes against Humanity, and considered them Aliens from some other world.
In the land of Phil everyone must headbang for the whole concert. Im not kidding. He will constantly remind you. At least back in the day he did.
We must go back to old country.
Respect
1.6 million people were there. It was the Moscow Music Peace Festival.
Monsters of Rock festival
Monster's Of Moscow...
AC/DC, Metallica, The Black Crowes and Pantera opened the show
I was there!
the latest count, is 1.76M
RIP Dime and Vinnie!!
That’s why pantera is my fav band of all time! So much talent - no explanation necessary
Yep..the band gives out energy to the fans by their performance and the crowd returns that energy
I love it so much! The anticipation of seeing the reaction to that massively epic breakdown at the end is priceless! I watch every reaction video just for that alone! 🤘💀🤘

Excellent reaction again! Keep on what you’re doing and enjoy your musical journey! Dimebag Darrell was awesome at what he did!
Sick. Their shows were something else. They put the best in metal, they found the groove. They also made Metal fun vs the 80’s devil, war etc themes. Likely the 3rd most influential metal band ever.
Close to 2 million ppl at that show. Only in metal! 🤘
Not a trance, a huge group of shared love and respect.
Was fortunate enough to see them live 7 times. Even more fortunate to meet and hang with them 4 of those times.
Metal is about letting our emotions out as hard as we can - that's what your seeing Lex! Welcome my man! 🙌🙏👍

Monsters of rock.... Pantera and many others in Russia.... 700k+
Baddest breakdown ever.
Yeah, it's so obvious, how Vinnie & Darrell interact - feed off each other... Like they have been playing together since childhood -

Monster
My all time favorite song and band. I got to see them 5 times live best shows ever.
Making of a metal head……. Fuck yeah!!!
You stopped it right before dimebag did his bottle rocket tremelo move!!!!
Remember, this was LIVE! No screwups, never missed a beat!!!!

RIP Dimebag Darrel (guitar) and his brother on drums, Vinnie Paul!
Impossible to not bob your head during breakdown 😂😂
Awesome reaction my friend!!!! On a different topic I absolutely love your NASA shirt!!!!!
Almost pissed myself laughing at the Jeep Wrangler comment. You’re hilarious dude!
Yup! Pantera always brought a can of whoop-ass when they played! Ministry was very much like this as well as Sepultura! The 90’s ruled!
Darryl abbot was and is one of the best musicians of all time….
They revolutionised metal during the grunge era
They revolutionized metal after thrash
Pantera is and always will be the best Metal band ever, to me!! But even to this day nobody can make a guitar scream like Dimebag Darrell could 🤘🤘 so happy you enjoyed Pantera 🤘🤘
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys 4 times with some of the other great band of the 90’s
Rip Dime n Vin. Pantera is the baddest fucking band to ever live.
These guys are why skill and talent ate the gagas and pinks..... Drums, G-tar etc ... pre 21century ......
Pantera are a force of nature.
You can't stop a hurricane or a tornado.
You can't stop a volcano you can ONLY WATCH IT GO!
FACTS BRO #RELENTLESSGANG
Welcome to the metal fold!🤘🏼🤙🏼
You have witnessed the MOAB - Mother of all Breakdowns! Untouchable for eternity! PERIOD!
Ozzy was more happy to see us, then we were to see him, that is metal.
Legends! The best to ever do it! 💯
That was the very first time US metal bands went to play to USSR just before their fall... People went crazy! Bands gave their best! Iconic!
Been too many metal and hip hop gigs, love both but nothing beats metal live. It’s another level in terms of energy
They opened for metallica. Only band to make metallica "shrink" ( not being able to overcome the energy they unveiled to the crowd) over 1 million humans fucking rocking out

It popped up later on, I didn’t see it anywhere before the day before yesterday.

Not a man alive can shred like Dime. Not a f*cking soul! 💯 RIP brothers
Dimebag had that certain sound and swag about his sound and style. When you hear dimebag you know, Eddie Van Halen and Randy Roads had the same signature sounds
Pantera gives a clinic on performance intensity!!
captivized and artisteses...I'm learning so much
Pretty much every domination reaction: "u see how many people are there"
"I thought he was gonna hit him w the guitar"

He played like that after drinking the fake mouthwash whiskey. Fake seal and all....gotta love it.

Listening to Pantera, this song in particular, raises a guys testosterone levels by 500%. Proven medical fact!
When I listen to this track its like I'm a fast car that has dropped all the nitro in one go. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhh! Pantera are the best
6:00 that was such a bizarrely awesome description of how the song made you feel to that point 😂🤘

13 steps. Floods. Lots of pantera to react to👍🏼
Each time I watch this video my hair actually grows longer.
1.6 million people were there at the concert I think it holds the record for the most people in attendance
Although I wish it was true, it is not. Rod Stewart of all people, 3.5 million people in 1994
You should check out the studio version so you can catch all of the lyrics. Very powerful.
just EPIC moment
I think there was near a million in that crowd that day, the highest attendance report was 1.6 million and 20, 000 russian army were posted there and loads of fans got beaten. But if I was there I wouldn't give a toss. This is music with soul and unity. It's not popular mainstream and us metallers don't want it that way.
I’ve been to a lot of concerts but nothing ever touched the energy in the crowd at a Pantera show.
Exaclty
Pop acts: I'm having fun guys!!
Metal acts: I'm here to work bruh
damn it... now you got me looking at Jeep Wranglers...🤣
The world was better with The Abbott Brothers in it. Man do we miss you boys! #getchapull
Pantera = gangsta metal!!
awesome!
The crowd was five hundred thousand it was a two day show.one million people attended to see two bands
Dimebag. RIP. ❤
I hope you can get around to checking out Slaughter to Prevail, Demolisher as well as their song Baba Yaga. I been enjoying your reactions
Lead guitarist Dimabag Darrell. Or Darrelle. Whatever the fuck his name is.
His is Darrell Lance Abbot. He was an amazing dude. He was legendary before he was murdered. He didn't have beef with anyone, didn't overdose, or kill himself. He was just the best metal guitarist and so down to earth.
Suggestions...
Nightwish
Lacuna Coil
Band Maid
Wagakki Band
And totally different but amazing...
Loreena McKennett
Phil was also performing that way as drunk as he can be to mask the back injury pain from performing the way he did. He would not get his back fixed so he could stay on the road and do his thing.
rock rules. you can have rap/rb hip hop whatever they will never draw the crowds that rock does.
It’s crazy that this is 33 years old
1.6 million there 😊
Listen to the studio version
Reactor - I'm relaxed.
Pantera - Lemme show you why you're wrong.
You dont get much better than that.
RIP DIME AND VINNIE! ❤
