Farm equipment is so cool, no matter what it is!! Thanks for all the time put in!!
Thank you for watching.
@@bigtractorpower I dont always comment but I do watch!!
I agree so cool
Great video Big Tractor Power! It's almost too wet lol. I've got a couple of sprayers stuck before. It's no fun..
It’s no fun to get stuck.
Deere released their updates to the 2020 sprayers,NEW R4060 with 1600 gallons tank and 365 hp, new Command Drive system which allows the engine rpm to be way down if running on flat ground and other benefits, the R4045 also gets the new Command Drive for 2020. Very awesome video as usual.
I think the R4060 has been available in Australia this year. I was just talking this farmer about the R4060. I would guess I will be filming one in 2020. 😉
I have never been lucky enough to spray with a real self propelled sprayer. I use to work in forestry specifically forest replantion site preparation, basically farming the woods and before the tree trenching for replanting everything green in the site needs to be killed off so the new trees have a fighting chance. The sprayers I use to run were logging skidders converted to spray in the spring/early summer. We could only put on around a 500 gallon tank and a 60 to 80 foot boom. I always hated that job there's nothing more scary than side hilling at half a tank then running over a stump or rock and it sloshing over and picks up a wheel on the machine just about to flip then the water will go back and set it back down. just a little pucker factor haha. Thanks again for the awesome video always good information and well edited. B.T.P. is better than all the BS on TV now days.
Thank you for your great post. That sounds like an impressive way to spray.
At least you can get in the fields in KY. In MI were still dealing with rain. The ground is so wet and it’s mid May!
I hope sunshine makes it way to Michigan.
Awesome as always!
Thank you for watching.
Man that's thick planted wheat! It'll make a good crop
It did well this. 110 bu.
Love the videos
Thank you for watching.
No thank you for making the videos
@@BACKTHEBLUETRUMP i agree with you.
Impressive machine
👍
Wow they really use that sprayer And times three quite the investment obviously it’s paying off for them
It allows the farm to get the crops covered efficiently.
I would love to drive one of those units ☺
They are impressive machines.
BTP, does this Farm use one of those sprayers to spread dry fertilizer, or they just use urea? Great video as always.
These are only used for liquid. The farm has a local CO-OP spread dry fertilizer for them with Terra Gators.
how many acers does this farm have? Great Video!
They crop 33,000.
Nice btp!!!👍👍🚜🌾
Thank you for watching.
Wish I could get out of the city. Been wanting to work on farms for so long now and I'm eager to start but I have no idea where to go.
Go to an agricultural equipment dealer and ask around.
@@Watchyn_Yarwood I don't know of any around me but I will definitely look them up to see. Thank you.
Perfect!
were you wearing any personal protection equipment standing out in that feild next to the chemicals?
I don’t stand in the chemical to film.
At $1,500,000 tied up in sprayers, they had better be getting used every month of the year. That is quite the investment.
sprayer works a lot more than tractors and combines... its well worth it.
If each one sprays 30,000 acres/year, then it’s money well spent!
Now I understand why the Welkers built their own sprayer.
It’s all about running over the crop fast when it’s growing. March, April and May is when these machines really cover a bunch of ground. In the first week of March these three machines could spray 24,000 acres getting the wheat sprayed and then spraying burn down on all the corn ground.
I may have missed it, but how fast was he going across the field?
Thanks for the videos.
Believe he said 15 mph around the 2:05 minute mark.
@@dwightl5863 Wow that is fast. Thanks for the reply.
Yes it is traveling 15 mph.
@@bigtractorpower Thanks. That is moving on out!
What nozzles type/size were used in this application ?
Is that mirrors half way out on the boom.
Yes. They are for road travel when the booms are folded up.
JD just introduced a R4060.
Yes they did. I expect to will see the R4060s here in WKY in 2020 on a few different farms.
They now have the 4060r look it up
Yes it’s been on the market in Australia and will be available here next year. I suspect there will be a few here in Western Kentucky as soon as they are available.
Are you going to fill many cotton harvesting this year?
I am not sure if I will get to cotton country this year. I will have to see how the fall shapes. They are impressive machines to see.
first comment first view!!
Thank you for watching I like your enthusiasm.
Is that Matt running that sprayer
Yes he is. We will talk to him in part II. You can see him filling the sprayer in this one.
Will this wheat land be double cropped with beans?
Yes it will. Next month right after harvest.
@@bigtractorpower Thank you
What row spacing is the wheat on?
It is ribbon seeded. So it’s two 7 inches side by side with a 15 inch gap. This farm uses Horsch 60 ft air seeders.
@@bigtractorpower THANKS Love your video's!
Holy motion sickness, Batman
There is allot of bouncing at 15 mph in the field.
Spray Time. Hi, This was interesting to watch and learn about the John Deere Sprayer. I wanted to know about that square tank he emptied products into then it rinsed the jugs. They sit high up, they having a high center of gravity must roll easy. Rolling over the young crop dosent kill the plants ? I enjoyed this episode. Have a terrific weekend 🇺🇸🚜👍
The square tank is where the chemicals are added to the 1,200 gallon water tank. Yes the tires knock down plants in their path. They were grow back but in the fungicide pass in the next video they get knocked over for good. It has to make a path to improve the rest of the crop.
Why such a wide tire?
Lucas Bertão they have to have flotation for a 30,000 pound machine.
1200 gallon tank plus the machine is pretty heavy!
Flotation over the ground so they do not cut ruts in the field. It’s no fun cutting wheat with a combine going over sprayer ruts. The sprayer puts on skinny tires later in the year.
a lot of acres, a lot of expense, ...I wish it were just that easy
Makes my 30ft sprayer look little
It can cover some ground.
Notice the government was also spraying, but in the skies that day! Do they consider us to be insects or weeds?
To early only 360 so far, back soon
Back and great stuff as always
Poison the land
You can certainly tell that's not in the EU, no PPE (disposable splash, spray resistant overalls, no faceshield, no mask, no wellies, no rubber (nitrile) gloves, no collecting and storing foil to be disposed of appropriately, no triple rinsing containers and oh the horror not carefully pouring the product sideways so not to cause glugging.

same thing here in brazil...
Much less regulation on farming in the United States.
But for how long ours really came about after a couple living near farms complained that the sprays were affecting their health with the rules coming in not only to show that the application was taken seriously and professionally but to also protect the farms against litigation.
Knowing how many lawyers are in the US I wonder how soon it would be before rules like our own come in especially with cases like the Roundup one as it wouldn't have been the chemical company that would have been sued here or only sued here it would have been the employer who would have been the only one sued for failure to provide training and PPE with the manufacturer being had up only if they had not got a warning on the label to wear PPE and was found to be hazardous.
If the employers had shown that they had made sure he had PPE that was appropriate, fitted him and was in working order and that he had training and equipment fit for purpose his case would have been thrown out as it would be down to his own fault for not using the supplied PPE that he had it go over him
