The speed and width that they can spray is incredible. 11,000 acres in 3 days is mind boggling ! All the other numbers are just crazy huge for 3 sprayers. Thanks for taking us along for the ride BTP ! Thumbs up always.
Hey I just wanted to give you a shout out to Churchville NY! I live in Webster, NY (other side of the City) grew up around the corner from a dairy farm and spent countless hours in the cab of the neighbors machines growing up loving tractors just like you! We now own and operate a small USDA certified vegetable farm so my dreams of driving tractors came true. Keep up the good work man, love your channel
Back in the day crop dusting (using aeroplanes to apply chemicals.) was the chemical application option. John Deere also has a 132’ boom width boom option.
Matt is very good at what he does on the farm. You can see him in other BTP videos: Corn planting: m.ua-cam.com/video/Sf-hrHEsAt8/v-deo.html Winter spraying m.ua-cam.com/video/ZPqiCie0bqs/v-deo.html Tillage m.ua-cam.com/video/ONAD3OO-7rg/v-deo.html Harvest m.ua-cam.com/video/qI7GEgRqYZU/v-deo.html
It is neat to see what the tech can do. You can see in the field footage where it snaps on for a second on a headland turn on a point row to catch a tiny skip area.
Another great informative video.People don't understand that disease and fungus infections can ruin a crop in 24 hours.I learned that from peanut farming. No matter how many acres you farm if you can't spray it in less than 5 days, you can loose your entire crop.
Thank you for watching. Fungus can be really bad here in WKY because of humidity. I see it in my own lawn. One day it’s all green and over night rust pops up and it’s dead in patches. You have to spay fast here. Really if you start seeing blight your almost too late.
@@bigtractorpower It's the same with tomato spotted wilt virus in peanuts. It will be a small patch in the middle of the field and 24 hours later you will have patches all over the field and once it's there,no pods on the plant. We were only spraying with a 2955 john deere with a 300 gallon tank and 30' boom.It would wipe us out before we could get over.
They apply lime and dry fertilizer in the September after the corn his harvested in August. The fields are disked and the wheat is drilled. Nitrogen is sprayed on in January and April.
I noticed on some of your videos they run at a angle across the rows can they set the satellite to run at any angle they want , if Matt has time could he show us how he sets it up
The fuel tank is on the side and is black plastic. The black tank on top is for fresh water to rinse the solution system and boom. Everything is standard. No options on fuel or water.
Mark Stengel yes Mark, way cheaper than an airplane. As long as it’s dry, the farmers will always want to use a ground rig or someone who custom sprays.
According to Case IH’s website a Trident 5550 list price is $325,246. The sprayer for the Trident is $69,361. You are looking at $394,607 for a Trident. The Trident is $100K less. I would sure like to see a Trident in the field.
The farm does not farm 92,000 acres they just run over their acres that many times with the sprayers. They actually crop just under half that many acres. I am not sure how large the biggest farm in the U.S. There are potato operations that farm in multiple states covering ground from the Dakotas to the Carolinas.
They will power wash the sprayer top to bottom once the application is done. They knock out 11,000 acres in three days. No need to wash it each day just to get it dirty again.
What kind of drift control does this machine have. We all know buzzing across this field at 15mph in a cab your not going to feel the wind. A gust of wind comes up. RIP their go's the neighbors rose bushes, fruit trees and half the yard.
That's why you can only spray in good conditions. If it's too windy you can't go. Also you have products that you mix in with the pesticides to help stop drift.
You use drift control agents along with good drift control nozzles. Keep in mind they are spraying fungicide. Fungicide will not kill the neighbors anything. It the neighbor was smart the neighbor would thank them for a little drift.
Justin D you are 100% right. I joked with Matt about swing by my house with the R4045 to spray my lawn. With 80 degree days rust and fungus sets in fast on a lot of plants at this time of year including lawns and rose bushes.
Good question. If it’s windy they do not run. In this case with the fungicide it’s not going to hurt anything. I joked with Matt about bringing the R4045 to spray my lawn to prevent rust and fungus in the grass that starts around this time of year. For herbicide they mix in products in with the seed killer that are sticky and heavier so as they spray it drops and sticks to the weeds and plants and does not blow.

Very cool. Congrats on being able to farm. I have been to Webster many times. Glad to have a WNY viewer.
These guys certainly believe in the adage "Go Big or Go Home" Another great vid Thanks
They want to get everything covered efficiently. They maximize to use of their machinery.

Thanks for the video. The individual knowledge in each tractor and implement and set up is something in itself.
Thank you for the compliment and watching.
You have one of the best jobs out there 😎

Great video sir! Nice sprayer!!!
👍
Looks like a good crop coming along! Man my farm would LOVE a 1600 gal self propelled sprayer. We’ll see what happens in the next couple years!
The 2019 crop is in the home stretch. Hopefully no sever thunderstorms catch it in the next few weeks. It should be a good harvest.
I would like to say I love these videos brings back a lot of memories for me thankyou 😊
Thank you for watching. It’s fun getting out to film these machines.
It’s a great video big tractor I like seeing the sprayer work in the field😉 take care my friend👍🏻
They are impressive machines. Hard to keep up with to film on the ground because they are so fast and wide.
Muibien el equipo trabaja excelente me gusta canto vale ese tractor
Hey Big Tractor Power I watched the entire video. Great sprayer video. Just need that Mike Less guy down there to drone film this for you.
As they say on the Price Right “Come on Down”
I enjoyed watching the video.
Thank you.
Is there much bounce in the cab travelling at that sort of speed in the field ? Thanks for sharing.
It’s not bad unless you hit a rut, wash out or sink hole. Then you are going to bounce.
Tank you vidéo magnifique bravo super
Does John Deere have a granular spreader with booms or is it directly out the back with the fans
Can't wait to see you film a new R4060...I want to see one with 132 foot wide booms...
I do too. Hopefully next year.
Crazy. We’re just getting into the swing of seeding here in Canada. And they’re spraying fungicide
The warm climate here moves the crop along. They are probably getting ready to cut wheat in Texas.
Did they apply any fertiliser before planting when they worked the ground or did they plant the seed with urea
They apply lime and dry fertilizer in the September after the corn his harvested in August. The fields are disked and the wheat is drilled. Nitrogen is sprayed on in January and April.
@@bigtractorpower did they apply any anhydrous before planting corn
What farm does Matt work for?
Does the crop that gets run over die or is it stunted when compared to the rest?
At the head stage where it is in this video it’s done. The first three passes it does stand back up.
I noticed on some of your videos they run at a angle across the rows can they set the satellite to run at any angle they want , if Matt has time could he show us how he sets it up
Stay tuned. In the next video on spraying corn Matt talks about running at an angle.
Like seeing them big sprayer s get it makes my little 60 footer spray coup look tiny
I like Spra Coupes. They remind me of X Wing fighters in Star Wars.
Did you do a little fishing that day ? Seen the pickup and fishing boat sitting out on the highway.
Not sure who that was. Not me. There are nice lakes near by so hopefully some one had a good day of fishing.
Nice video as always!!!
Thank you for watching.
Great video
Thank you for watching.
Are the black plastic tanks on top of the stainless chemical tank a fuel tank...and if so is it a customizable option or is it stock
The fuel tank is on the side and is black plastic. The black tank on top is for fresh water to rinse the solution system and boom. Everything is standard. No options on fuel or water.
Nice toys!😄
👍
Morning ! Is it more expensive to use aircraft to spray farmer's fields than by tractor ? Enjoyed this 2nd pt episode. Bye
Mark Stengel yes Mark, way cheaper than an airplane. As long as it’s dry, the farmers will always want to use a ground rig or someone who custom sprays.
Good vídeo btp!!!👍🚜
Thank you for watching.
Do you know what application he is using on his iPad?
Unfortunately I do not.
Did you get your tractor out at all this spring?
Yes I did. Stay tuned. If you would like a preview check out Big Tractor Power Facebook videos.
How they irrigate so much land?
This farm does not irrigate. They rely on rain to make the crop. In fact they focus on installing drain tile to draw water if their land.
Why do sprayers have so much space under them?
To clear taller crops like corn.
Wonder a CaseIH Trident 5550 cost compared to one of these

RTK signal to help auto steering?
This sprayer uses SF3.
Wow 92 k acres that's be a lot! I heard the richest Farm owned 489,291 acres and they owned 20 Combines and 15 sprayers
The numbers they are doing is crazy. Can't even imagine.

Gitr-Dun BTP. Nice Vid.
They cover some ground in a hurry.
Man that's a ton of ground in a season.ithought I covered a lot a 9000a year
It is. Several passes are made over the same fields. I forgot to mention a few hundred acres of hay ground get sprayed in addition to the grain.
wich nozzle model is being used?
Fan type.
@@bigtractorpower turboteejet? greenleaf? hypro?
A ground rig is a crop dusters nightmare.
Jimmy LaBuff not if the ground is wet and the farmer is desperate for his crops to be sprayed.
Very expensive, but very necessary when you have 10,000+acres to cover. B.T.P..
Yes. When the crops need to be sprayed there is a short window to be the most effective.
Hey Matt , has Matt got a Facebook page
He is on Instagram at iamatt567
I would atleast clean my sprayer
