4:50 it was statistically guaranteed to eventually run out of balls. The mean increase in number of balls per unit time is 0. More specifically, its # of balls/mean time to bounce - # of balls/mean time to bounce. Every bounce is just as likely to add a new ball as it is to lose one, and even though bounces become more and more frequent as the number climbs, the trend remains the same.
As a result, the expected value for the number of balls was constant, and the number of balls was simply dancing around the mean by its standard deviation. It was only a matter of time before the number of balls gets so low below the mean that it reaches 0, after which the simulation stops.
