That being said, enjoy :D
If you watched milo Murphys law it shows they have a inverted Murphys law as in what can go right will go right also there were episodes when the mom found out including in the future when there is basically no point in acting like she did not know
The one that had me thinking this was at the end of Last Day of Summer, when the group plays a huge rock concert in the back yard. Linda comes out, sees everything, and still offers pie like nothing happened.
Yeah because if it did then somehow Phineas would be aware of the fact that Isabelle kissed him before they lost their memories in the 'across the 2nd Dimension' movie
Also let's not forget that Linda was a popstar in like the 80s so clearly she would have money left over from that, not to mention her parents and possibly even the Dad's parents, helping pay the bills from their years of fame and activities, both Linda and her mum were both pretty famous and successful people.
It's funny how Linda has even been told by her husband about Phineas and Ferb's inventions, as well as yelled at by Candace every single day about it, she has literally seen a few inventions right in front of her at a few points, and it really seems like she is ignoring it on purpose. And isn't it really bizarre how Linda can withstand that crazy surreal car ride with Candace literally bouncing over obstacles to find Phineas and Ferb, but their invention is too extreme for her to believe??? Oh and in that one time travel episode, Candace tells older Linda about their inventions, giving her proof, and she doesn't even get mad or have ANY emotion to it, and even says "I don't have custody over them anymore"
@@vibes8930 yeah, but in the episode when Phineas and Ferb build an old timey wild west town, Candace MANAGES to bust Phineas and Ferb, and just as Linda is about to ground them....I think time rewinds and shifts or something (I haven't seen this episode in a long time) so the brothers don't get busted in the end
@@floricel_112 yes but thats explained in the video. Since the public eye was all on her, she had no choice but to go along with it. If you look at how she reacts, she actually seems to be more disappointed than angry.
I always find Linda being so sus at some moments and she doesn't even hide it like she literately know what's gonna happen and it is on the boys' side.
@@Jegcopo I mean if I was on Linda's place and if Candace was calling me to bust her brothers I will immediatelly try to see what they are building and I would be even impressed. And if she is disappointed like I'm not "bust" them I will say "let them to have their fun" and I will be so proud of them. And if you think about it when they can do literatelly everything what you can imagine that even the world hasn't seen like: animal translator, super computer that can do everything or even cures for like cancer, COVID 19 etc. These boys can literatelly make everything happen even stopping world hunger and making a world peace. Also not to forget they are like 10 years old and this is even more impressive than they can do even more than average grown adult - even like 100 of them or even more. Imagine if Phineas and Ferb existed in real life and they did these things - that would be so incredible. I know some people might have entirely different view from me about Candace, the boys and Linda but that is my perspective.

@@postsniper-7532 That's messed up. He clearly shows that he loves all his kids. He encouraged Candace parallel park and focus on growing herself instead of her obsession with busting, is all around supportive and non judgemental, and loved seeing her happy in the father daughter competition
There are moments when Phineas and Ferb put Candace in danger and Linda doesn’t bat an eye, yet if the roles were reversed then Candace would face a serious punishment. I can’t blame Candace for slowly going mad from her mother gaslighting her and her brothers taking joy in inflicting terror on their big sister.
Lmaoooo no fr, like at the end of the day she doesn’t actually blame her brothers because she knows that’s their job, to annoy tf out of her. But what’s annoying is bringing something to your parents attention and being blown off, especially if your sibling was to do the same thing but your parent take THEM seriously 😂
It's definitely a possibility, she did get quite famous and that could explain the majority of her family's wealth, and possibly that's the reason why she bought that house in the first place as well. And, of course, the money she would earn selling Candace's stories could only come in handy starting from *that* specific summer and not anytime sooner. Thereby, I reckon the money she earned as a one-hit wonder is what allowed her to get to where she was till that summer (economically speaking). After that, the money of Candace's stories would serve the purpose of both maintaining what she already had AND support the family in view of the moment the money from her past would run out. At least, that how I see it xD I wanted to mention this in the video as well, but the whole thing was getting kinda long, so I had to cut something out x)
With enough money in a savings account, she wouldn't really need a job to support them, but music royalties might not be enough, but winning the lottery would be.
I really like this theory that Linda is casually using her daughter's insanity with her brothers as a secret plan, but Milo Murphy's Law already discussed the positive negative energy that the brothers and Milo have, so it's really all down to the "mysterious force" that Candace and Stacy tried to appease.
@Balance of The hill Episode 38 of Milo Murphy's law talks about the Phineas and Ferb effect. It's a property of the universe that they are super lucky, just like Milo is unlucky.
@@fleuttre4510 Yeah...that's the point of the show. The whole family's Murphy's Law curse radiates bad luck, but the curse's resulting carnage also has the bad luck, so no one actually dies because of it. Hijinks ensue.
Alternate theory She knows that she has supergenius as sons and wants to let them express themselves, she can´t just let them build whatever because someone has to be the responsible parent of the couple and she wouldn´t look responsible. She also doesn´t acknowledge her daughter claims both because she doesn´t want to bust the boys and because she wants Candance to grow up from trying to bust her brothers all the time, that would also explain why she wants Candance to be with her siblings all the time. About the money its easy, things are just cheaper in that universe, Doofenshmirtz has a giant skyscraper and build thousands of inators just with the alimony from her exwife

I've always thought that there was no possible way that she of all people was somehow the only person in their town who somehow has never seen her sons' inventions. Even her own parents and occasionally her husband knew about some of Phineas and Ferb's inventions.
Yeah but it but would loose its comic effect since this is one of the biggest running gags and I mean Candice wanting to show her mum the inventions and failing every time in a very comic way is kinda one of the main plots of the show. Y‘all talking about it as if it is real life. Yeah if this would play in real life alot would have been impossible…. Such as a platypus being a secret agent
Fun fact: Caroline Rhea, the voice actress for Linda Flynn-Fletcher, tweeted that she believes that Linda was aware of the boys' shenanigans all the time.
Stranger: hey you're phineas and ferb's mom right? Linda: yes i am Stranger: your kids are cool they built a roller coaster and a beach in your backyard Linda: oh yeah they are re- wait what? Candace: yeah wait what? Stranger 2: oh and the time they made an aquarium too Stranger 3: how bout the time they became fashion desginers? Linda: wait wait hol- Stranger 4: you must be really proud of them Stranger 3: yeah they saved the world too from conquering robots Candace and linda: O_o
Linda: "Candice, why you are you pulling random strangers into your nonsense?" Candice: "But" Linda: "No buts Candice." *Looks at strangers* "I'm so sorry about that" *Walks away while pulling Candice*
Here's the big issue: it's stressed that she's a great mom and cares about her children and family greatly- it is expressed throughout the show that Candace repeatedly going through the failure of busting is hurting her mental health Why would Linda not tell her, notice Candace's mental health is declining, and STILL not tell her? It's unlike her character.
True I definitely see your point. But I think the reason she never did anything to tell Candice Dispite here mental health is because ether 1. She didn’t think Candice would be THIS dedicated and that she’d give up after the first few attempts to bust them . Or 2. She still continues to play ignorant to try and get Candice to unintentionally spend time with her brothers and because she knows some of the things they invent are to benifit Candice and therefore show candice that what they do is a great thing and they don’t need to be busted for. Best example being when they carved Candice’s face into Mount Rushmore for her birthday (which she literally cried tears of joy for) and when they helped her get her drivers license.
Sorry I didn’t see your comment earlier, but what you’re talking about is what I’ll be covering in the second part of this theory x) And well this is called a “theory” because it tries to make people change perspective introducing a new point of view on things, shock and let people have some fun, it’s supposed to go AGAINST people’s beliefs (in this case the fact that she’s a good, loving and caring mother), otherwise what would be surprising about it? xD
@@reddiamond_1753 1. After a while its very easy to see shes not giving up, then she could have intervened 2. She has tried to get candace to stop in multiple episodes. She would not do this if the whole reason was to make them hang out together. Linda's a good mom and I do t think she knew.
@@bugatti296 You have a good point. Unfortunately, it's way too easy for adults (myself included) to excuse the behavior of children because "but that's just a kid! Kids make mistakes! Kids don't know better!" because you can separate yourself and behaviors you're capable of from kids and what they're capable of. Yes, you should be kinder to kids, give kids some room to grow and more forgiveness, but that attitude doesn't help the kids who are absolutely hurt by other kids. The cartoon example is a bit different because Candace is older than her brothers and their parents and everyone else actively encourage the gaslighting, so it's easier to see that Phineas and Ferb are not malicious from their actions, but it still messes up Candace and her relationship to her brothers. I'm glad that the movie Candace Vs. The Universe helps somewhat heal the relationship with her brothers, while it also showing the problems with their parents more clearly.
her brothers i cant get mad at them either, im truly only disappointed in the mom. for not being concerned that SOMETHING might be happening or the daughter might be crazy so she could've seen a therapist or sat in the yard to see what the kids did at least for ONE day.
Another piece of evidence that could support the “pretending not to know” theory is that there were multiple times when Phineas or Lawrence have told her that they’re doing something big, and she just passes it off as imagination, playing with toys, or a figure of speech. You’d think she’d get some sort of logical connection between Candace’s stories of the projects and somebody else’s mentioning of it.
I always had a theory that even if Candace did bust them, Linda would be proud of Phineas and Ferb rather than mad at them. I'd be amazed of my kids created some of those inventions.
Yeah me too honestly. Why would I bust them for being super geniuses? I'd encourage it and in fact I'd ask them to have me join in next time they make an invention that's rideable lol. Of course I'd play the responsible parent part and remind them to be super careful and not get themselves hurt 😛
In the dream episode, Linda was actually mad at them, but you could argue it's a dream, but in alternative timelines (basically future versions of themselves), when Candace busts them, Linda was also mad. So in the context of the show, if Phineas and Ferb were to be busted, she would be mad.
i never understood this show for this very reason lol. there was no suspense or anything for me because i can’t imagine anyone being mad at their child for building, like, a fckin time machine
I bet Linda earns money by selling fake antiques... hence the line to Vivian: "see you Monday for Totem pole carving." She carves totem poles and has them look so authentic that their overcharged.
You forgot to mention the episode about their mom's birthday where she witnessed them throw a huge bday party for her and the Love Handle episode where they made a huge stage in their front yard in your theory. She's known ever since season one!
I was so ready for this to be "Linda is an evil genius and that's why she and doof dated back in the day but he was too bumbling for her so she went on to be a super rich super villain" but "author who let's her child go crazy to steal her hallucinations as stories" is good too
I know, it's so sad to think that even in a Disney show, the mom has spent Candace's entire life gaslighting her...as someone who has been gaslighted for all of my younger years, it makes me feel for Candace...if only she had told Candance that she knows but she is choosing to keep it a secret then maybe things would have worked out. But anyways, I know most people just want to watch this because this theory is amazing, so I'm gonna stop talking about mental health now.
What if Linda divorced her first husband because she saw him getting mad at Candace for creating something big for her age and that became a trauma for Candace thus she’s so enthusiastic at busting Phineas and Ferb for their creativity but Linda ignores her because she doesn’t want to think that she was wrong for divorcing her first husband as she’s already deeply in love with Lawrence.
That is such a stretch and I don't think it's a good reason to dislike Linda. There is no proof. Linda could've divorced the guy because he kissed a monkey. The guy could have divorced her because she didn't know how to blow up balloons. What you wrote is fanfic and while I'm not mad at putting it out there I am upset the person above me would add it as a reason to dislike Linda.
@@_sinco_clair_2301 thank you. People were sitting in another reply section people were saying she didn't care about her daughter's mental healthand was using it as a reason to write books and i had to explain to them that tbis was a theory with no proof and that Candice begged to be in charge when Linda didn't want her to be.
"Where do they get all the money" Me: "Perry works for the goverment, gives a lot of money to the family, and also have maids that clean their house..."
I always hated how Candance was treated because well, she's trying to bust them because they're kids, who could've easily gotten hurt at any time, without any rules stopping them from doing so.
It’s a cartoon and I am sure that’s what makes it funny, whatever phineas and ferb also do is not possible in reality , and that’s what cartoon are made for!!!
This is kind of a similar situation with Dexter's mom from Dexter's Laboratory. She too knows what her son is up to with his crazy inventions or plotting something terrible on Mandark, Dexter's arch-enemy. That's why in almost every episode, she never questions him why he wears his usual lab uniform all the time.
I don't think Linda actually knew what Phineas and Ferb were up to as the universe itself was actively making sure she didn't know. There was that one episode where Phineas and Ferb built a project under Candace's direction specifically to find out why their inventions kept disappearing. They noticed that it remained until Candace started making attempts to show Linda the project. Every time Candace started trying to show Linda, the invention got hit with an invisibility ray and then hit again (so it reappeared) when she stopped attempting to drag Linda to their backyard. When she made her final attempt to show Linda by covering the invisible invention with paint, the invention was disintegrated so Linda wouldn't see it. She only finds out about everything in the future (by time-traveling Phineas and Ferb) where it doesn't matter anymore as they are now adults outside of her authority.
Yes but you can also make the argument, that the reason why there inventions disappear, is spasificly to mess with Candace, and not Linda In the episode where Candace gets dragged into throwing a party, the opposite event happens where for a moment, the “mysterious force” tricks Candace into believing the same force that makes phones and ferbs inventions dissapear apply to her as well, and she happily lets her mom check it out, only for the party to return INSTANTLY, and Candace gets grounded, because her mom told her NOT to throw any parties It’s possible that simmaler to Murphy’s law, Candace’s mysterious force is likly trying to urge her to enjoy herself and not worry so much about the things her brothers are doing, because she’s shown on multiple occasions that when she’s with them, she can do what he moms asked her to do, all the wile, enjoying more of her life, and her brothers When you look back at it, she wasted way more of her summer then the boys did, and there are multiple times where she, her friends and even her mom acknowledge that Candace’s obsession is ripping her appart, they exspress consern, and suggest that she just let it go, or at the vary least, take a brake And normaly she’s at her happiest when she does so fully Just look at Linda’s parents, her mom was a roller rink champion, and her grandfather was an elobrate prankster, together they would go to some pretty far lengths to pull pranks, or archive something Then you can look at lourences parents, the flying fish monger, and, whoever his mother turned out to be, I can’t remeber. There’s also both parents Ex Lovers, who each most have had something strange going on with them as well And to top it all off Linda herself is a multitalented entertainer It would make MORE sense if she was always just turning a blind eye to the boys, because she knows there going to do what there going to do, but for one reason or another, she Dosent want Candace to know that, (again likly for a book, but I don’t think that’s enugh) it could also be that she herself is fully aware that Candace can’t be making it up, but maybe she herself Dosent actualy want to see, or acknowledge theses things, because she knows that if she saw just how intense there inventions were, she instinctually couldent stop herself from shutting down the boys for good, and instead puts her trust into Candace, who again, has actualy been keeping them safe
Shes actually the creator of the entire show. She writes what candace tells her for the story of every episode for the story, then animates it. And the entirety of Phineas and Ferb is just her cartoon, which originates fully from the moms life and candaces stories
@@evermurphy8337 This doesn't sound like the creepypasta, where Candace dies and all. It's more Linda animating everything for fun because she thinks her daughter's dumb yet creative.
there was actually an episode where she found out that phineas and ferb built a rollercoaster, and then she continued to (almost) prohibit them from doing anything at all, and doofenshmirtz could take over the world that way. candice then travelled back in time to stop her mom from finding out.
New theory: Flashback scenes suggest that Phineas' and Candace's biological father was out of the picture before Phineas was born. I think he was super rich, died during Linda's pregnancy, and, as Linda had her own money from her one-hit wonder, he left everything to Candace (he hadn't changed his will yet to include Phineas). Linda, at some point, spent all her money and has since been embezzling from Candace's inheritance. She's now gaslighting Candace so, before Candace is old enough to claim her inheritance, Linda can have Candace declared mentally unfit to be in control of her own life, gain guardianship, have her institutionalized, and maintain control of Candace's money. She's keeping a journal of all of Candace's "stories" to act as evidence in a court hearing.
It could also, simply be that Linda's family has money seeing as her sister and brother-in-law are able to afford to spend their lives traveling around the globe without either of them having a job.
@@rishana5551 It's never officially said who Phineas' father is, but there are a number of reasons that it being Doofenshmirtz just wouldn't make sense. 1) The writers explicitly said that they never plan on getting into Phineas' dad or Ferb's mom because that's not what the show's about. So it wouldn't really make sense for them to put Phineas' dad in the show. 2) Candice and Phineas are implied to be full siblings and if Linda didn't like Doofenshmirtz enough the first date to continue dating him, or hook up with him, I doubt she would have slept with him once, let alone twice afterwards. 3) Vanessa and Candice are around the same age so Doofenshmirtz would have had to have had an affair shortly before or shortly after she was born, and then again several years later.
There is literally an episode where Candace says she drove a car and her Mom immediately believes her but doesn’t believe any of the things about her brothers
Well once you think about it, which one would you believe? 'Mom, Phineas and Ferb built a teleportation machine that sent me to Mars and I became their queen!" or 'Mom, I drove a full sized car (without a proper license) that Phineas and Ferb built!' Also for the latter, I'm pretty sure Linda would've thought Candance was trying to place blame on her brothers for something was considered illegal.
“Didn’t Linda earn enough money as a popular singer back in the 80s?” I did want to mention it, but ultimately decided to cut this part out in order to avoid making an excessively long video x) Here’s my answer to that: Linda did get quite famous in the 80s, due to her song “I’m Lindana and I wanna have fun”, and this could explain the majority of her family's wealth, and, possibly, that's also the reason why she bought that house in the first place. Remember, though, that she was a one-hit wonder: she performed only a few times and then once again in a reunion concert before the current summer, so the money she earned as a singer would be kinda limited, meaning it would EVENTUALLY run out. After all, she did raise two kids by herself with no job before meeting Lawrence (as far as we know); the antique shop she currently runs together with Lawrence is likely her husband’s business that she became a partner of after the two got married. (For the sake of simplicity, let’s assume her first husband/partner didn’t affect Linda’s life economically speaking: neither in a good, nor in a bad way.) As for royalties, considering how ruthless and shady Huge-o-Records intended to be with Phineas and Ferb's single "Gitchee Gitchee Goo" (profiting off of their song without the boys' consent), I suspect the very same thing happened years before to Linda herself. And, of course, it’s pretty obvious that the money Linda would earn selling Candace's stories could only “come in handy” starting from *that* specific summer and not anytime sooner. Thereby, I reckon the money she earned as a one-hit wonder is what allowed Linda to get to where she was till that summer (economically speaking). After that, the money from Candace's stories would serve the purpose of both maintaining what she already had AND supporting the family in view of the moment the money from her past would run out. At least, that’s how I see it xD Her past life is pretty blurry, so for all of you who kept talking about her song money: many of us know about her “singer arc” but let's keep in mind that she didn’t rely on any other income (that we know of) after those few concerts in the 80s. After all, there’s approximately a 15-year gap, between her pop star years and the current summer, we know nothing about and I bet the money Linda earned as a singer wouldn’t last more than 15/20 years x) And even if it did... This is just a theory. A film theory, aaand cut xD Brief reminder for those lovely complainers out there: a theory is just a fun mental exercise, a supposition intended to explain something (in a fun way, I might add), it doesn't have to be the one and only truth, otherwise it wouldn't be called a theory but just "facts" x) Have a nice day, people!
Great job with the video, and yes, I don't get why people expect Linda to afford everything she and her family have with the money she earned as a one hit wonder: how can that money support them for like 30 years and more? It seems like they barely remember this one little detail about her mostly because that singing thing was mentioned in season 1, I doubt those very same people know what happened after season 2 and they expect to be the ones who are right here.. Oh well.. Then if she was famous enough to still have so much money from her singing days after like 25 years, why isn't she filthy rich amd famous then? She got forgotten very easily after her diva tantrum, how could she have THAT much money? Love Handel were MUCH, MUCH more famous then her, and look where _they_ ended up... This singing thing seems a very lazy excuse to try to make this theory fall apart, I don't see why they would do it, after all, it IS just a theory and it seems pretty straight forward 🤷🏻♂️
This all well and good but if it was relief then she would be getting child support (if the ex still has personal rights or her husband didnt adopted her children), royalties from music career, stocks, bonds, savings, inheritance, and not to mention what ever her husband brings to the family (he could have savings from before the marriage). Also they could of had a good budgeting plan too.
In the last episode she Saw the giant flat screen.and see the video of they previous inventions, it Candace books she sold stuff in the whale,or song one,
Linda has a background in astrophysics - and apparently was such a major player in that field that Jeremy Johnson’s father was HONORED by her visit to his lab. People tend to assume that Phineas gets his inventing prowess from his biological father, but it’s perfectly plausible that Linda is drawing income from multiple profitable patents. It could also be a factor in her blasé attitude (and/or gaslighting of Candace) over her sons’ technological shenanigans. A brilliant mom might not see anything out of the ordinary when her kids are making cars fly or, in Candace’s case becoming proficient on every known musical instrument that starts with the letter B.
Also something that supports the theory of their mom using Candaces rants for profit is when she played music when Candace was reaching out to her in the EVIL BOYS song. Instead of helping her stop her busting obsession, she uses her to make money of her music.
She probably actually makes her money from music royaltys, and child support is phineas,s dad and ferns mom are alive. Why y'all making Linda a villian
So constantly reminding and encouraging Candace to enjoy her summer while it lasts while spending quality time with her brothers, whom even her friends enjoy hanging with, instead of wasting her time and energy tattle telling to her about what they are doing every day, is considered "toxic"?
i have a weird theory how phineas and ferb became very smart and how they got their knowledge on a lot of things- maybe one day doof made an inator which makes people turn into geniuses and decided to shoot himself but then perry went to thwart him as usual and hit phineas and ferb during pery and doof's fight but thats just a theory but id like to believe this one
Perhaps adult Phineas and Ferb used a time machine to introduce their inventions to the people in the past, but got sent back to the Mesozoic era and lost some inventions, one of which was a small device that could maximize a person's intellect. Millions of years later, Lawrence Fletcher discovers the device and the other missing inventions and creates an antique store. He sold all of them except for the intellect-maximizing device. Perhaps one of these devices was bought by Dr. Doofensmirtz and helped him construct all of his inators. One of them could have been bought by Major Monogram and was used to give his pet human-like qualities, starting O.W.C.A. The intellect device was misplaced and accessible by Phineas and Ferb as toddlers, who activated it.
Actually it’s because Phineas and Ferb have a very creative imagination and because they have the Phineas and Ferb Effect they can pretty much do whatever they want and if that’s what they want to do than the positive probability ions of the Phineas and Ferb Effect provide. (Note: most of what I explained in this is kind of explained in in the Milo Murphy’s Law episode appropriately titled The Phineas and Ferb Effect)
@@at-mose Well, being lucky and creative doesn't mean you can construct rockets and moon elevators in less than a day. There's a lot of skill and intelligence involved in doing what Phineas and Ferb do daily.

She used to be popular music start. The family lives from her royalties from her music. Specially, that we even see that her music is still popular to this day, as the records studios made a tv campaign to advertise their releas of her remastered music and later she was even invited for the concerts to play at. Also, I believe that dad, aka Max Modern also brings some royalties with his music that he made in the episode when they made up the retro music star.
She did look worried, so it could be explained the same way as the "Rollercoaster" episode, meaning she wasn't aware of it yet (the episode could have taken place at the beginning of summer), or, considering how she didn't get mad at the boys, she could be faking her surprise just to mess with Candace, who knows x) She probably wanted to go for the "You guys did that? dan povenmire (co creator of phineas and ferb AND voice of doof) said that phineas and ferb get the money for their inventions from the rollercoaster. there's one line in that ep where phineas said "we should have charged more". so they charged people for riding on their rollercoaster. they invested that money very wisely and it's been funding their summer ever since.

I like to think her motives were that she actually wanted Phineas and Ferb to make the contraptions more than she wanted Candice to get the satisfaction of busting them. I’m sure she can just go on another reunion tour whenever she’s strapped for cash.
@@YujiUedaFan I don’t think you understand. I said Linda sacrificed Candace’s satisfaction for the brothers’ freedom of creativity so I’m not saying Candace is satisfied.
If I was Linda I would have to bust the boys for the sake of Candance's mental well being. Or get a therapist for her because Candy isn't well. It's all well intentioned because she doesn't want them to get hurt or die. Her anxiety levels are through the roof
0:52 i was just telling my mom about this scene French lesson: "turn around your kids are entering a spaceship *repeats the same thing in french*" linda: "No one is going to use that in an actual conversation."
I always assumed she knew and while she wanted the boys to express their creativity, it scared her to see them in reckless situations. While she chose to support the boys, at the end of the day it was better she didn’t see all the chaos as to avoid a total freak out on her part. I think it’s possible that one day she did see their invention, had this huge understanding that Candace had been right all along. Understood that if she stepped in now, Phineas and Ferb wouldn’t be able to grow in creativity like they should. And both of the boys had already proven many a time that they would be safe about it. So she just decided to remain in a state that aired on the side of denial. This was also in hopes that Candace would mature and let go of her urge to bust. That’s why she was constantly reading about troubled teens, so that she could deal with Candace and be ready for Phineas and Ferb if things ever got out of hand. She understood she was entirely out of her element when it came to finding solutions for the boys’ antics and just decided she was going to do the best she could to support them in her own way. Taking this to the extent of encouraging Candace to hang out with her brothers as a way to come to terms with the fact that her brothers will always be like that and she should learn to appreciate them for who they are while they are younger. Anyway that was always my thought process because I distinctly remember Linda’s voice actress saying she believed that as she was a mother herself and Mom’s know everything.
Some episodes such as the love Handel concert or her birthday surprise she was playing along the whole time because at least she would say something along the lines of how did you do this
Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh are actually Phineas and Ferb, when they trying to get a job, they retell all of their contraption in their childhood, rather believing their story, the interviewer think its a really amusing story for a TV show, that is why we have Pheneas and Ferb
My dumb theory: she knows. She knows her kids can do things that could probably solve half of mankind's issues. And she wants them to build more and more stuff to improve on their engineering and ingenuity. However, she might feel that acknowledging that to Candace puts her under comparative grievance because smart, brave and tenacious as she is (also talented singer), she's not A FUCKING DEMIGOD. Teen self-esteem is already shaky without having brothers that can do unimaginable things. Ask Dr. Doof: comparative grievance hurt him enough to shatter him, and he was the talented one. Is this misguided? Yea, I would say so. But being a parent is hard work, and it must be even worse when you've already gone through divorce (or death of husband) and you have to deal with 2 of your children being extremely talented geniuses.
Linda was a rock star. As Lindana, she made enough money for her and Lawrence to effectively retire. They probably make a little money from the antique store, but most of their expenses is covered by her record sales.
I’m convinced that Candace is doofs daughter. Her and his daughter look way to similar and her mom and him did date awhile back. And since candaces mom raises her that would mean she gets child support from doof. Which could explain how they have so much money also.
Since when do they look alike? One looks like a fun gothy badass and the other looks like a giraffe with clothes. Not to be offensive or anything it’s just that neck is *e x t r a L O N G*
@@BlueSoulGamer they don’t look exactly alike. I know that. It’s just the similarities I’m talking about. Same height. Big stretch I know lol. Long neck and same shape of head. Even how the hair is is very similar. And we know their parents dated and they are around the same age. So all I’m saying is they could be sisters and he got one kid and she got Candace.
@@andreeacat7071 well that’s what I thought but the voice actor for doof has recently confirmed that phineas is not his son. And he made it a point to say several time that phineas is not doof’s son. Which makes me wonder. Why say that about phineas and only phineas several times. Which makes me think even more that Candace is his daughter
@@algrehkselvarh5323 there was one episode where perry was swapped into Candace’s body and went in front of doof and he didn’t recognize her in the slightest. If he was the father you would think she would atleast look somewhat familiar.
I always thought maybe she does know, and doesn’t say as to not ruin their fun. I also always thought….What if Linda was just as creative and inventive as her sons when she was their age and is proud of them
Something that I always found sorta bittersweet is the one time that Candice might’ve actually gotten a win was when Linda asked the boys for that big finale thing
Pure negligence. She's enabling her daughter to go on a downward spiral. Even 10 years later Candace works for a company that can bust people even if they have no evidence.
Well, there's also the fact that she outright saw a concert happening in her own yard on her anniversary. She loves Lawrence but I'm positive she's aware that's a tad bit above his skill level.
My biggest question is...why is Candace so desperate to see her brothers get in trouble in the first place? What...does she think doing this will end world hunger, bring peace to all nations and make the world a better place? If anything, Phineas and Ferb have come close to doing all three MULTIPLE time. Meanwhile, what has Coup du Crayon achieved during the summer?
This is a weird take, however this theory makes me kind of dislike Linda as a character, and I will explain why. Linda purposely ignoring these inventions is completely fine with me, heck she’s even seen a few of them and done nothing. She is allowing her boys to thrive in their own creativity and make the best out of every day, which any good parent would do seeing that there’s no harm done. Lawrence exhibits this same trait only he doesn’t completely ignore Phineas and Ferb’s inventions, mentioning them often. This even occurs in Candace’s dream inside of Perry’s dream when she busts Phineas and Ferb from “Phineas and Ferb Get Busted.” Lawrence just shrugs off the flying car of the future, today, and even calls it “impressive”. I believe both parents don’t care however have different ways of not caring. Now onto why I sort of dislike Linda. Although she is letting her boys thrive she is dragging down her daughter by not acknowledging anything exists. Candace of course is driving her mother crazy, but Linda’s ignoring of the inventions eventually leads Candace to the mental breakdown she suffers in Candace Against The Universe. This also leads to the time paradox thing in “Last Day Of Summer”. As well as Candace becoming more and more insecure about herself throughout the series. Of course the question arises, is Candace a little inmature for a 15 year old? Yes, yes she is. So Linda isn’t entirely at fault for this, it’s a fault of them both. Candace continues trying over and over again to bust her brothers over the summer except for a few occasions. On the other hand you have Vanessa, who is older and arguably more mature, she tries to bust her dad once or twice in the earlier episodes. Eventually coming to terms that it isn’t going to happen. Instead Vanessa tries to get her dad to understand her point of view of his schemes, which improves their relationship and overall understanding of each other. Candace doesn’t see life that way yet, she admits this in Candace Against The Universe when she agrees that all her problems would just magically disappear if she busts the boys. As the busting cycle (As I call it) continues on Candace’s mental health gets seriously effected. Linda does nothing about this and often times makes Candace look stupid using her own sort of sarcasm. Which doesn’t help anyone except for Linda maybe humoring herself a bit. I feel like if Linda acknowledged what was there when she is obviously avoiding it, or just her letting Candace know she has no intention to punish the boys for the inventions. It would save Candace in particular a lot of stress and anxiety. I think of this because in one of the episodes when they time travel to the future (I forget what this episode is called but it’s on screen at 9:35) Candace busts the boys, only to be told by Linda since Phineas and Ferb are adults that they are out of her jurisdiction. However both Candace and Linda agree that on the record, Phineas and Ferb are busted. This sends a wave of happiness and completion through Candace despite not having her brothers grounded. It’s not all Linda’s fault that Candace is suffering from her impulsive urge to bust, however Linda being the adult should be able to see eventually, assuming this theory is true, that her actions are harming her daughter. Nonetheless, that was a fun half hour of writing and despite all of my mentioned solutions I wouldn’t change the way this show ran for the world, and I still enjoy Linda’s character. Especially towards the end of the series her witty, sarcastic sense of humor really started to become more and more memorable each time for me.
Isn't anyone wondering why is she trying to bust the boys so bad? I never seen someone so obsessed with trying to get their siblings into trouble. And for repeated time she has often fail. And Candace shouldn't even try to get them in trouble as well because there were a lot of time they ended up helping her for something she has done and she always has a bad attitude with them and the boys are always so sweet to her. I honestly think she wasn't comfortable with her mom remarrying and having a step-brother and probably didn't like the fact that phinease and everybody else was getting along fine with it, so she tries to get them in trouble some other type of way. And I think Candace wants to have a better relationship with her mom, because she always goes to her and not the dad(step-dad) so honestly the only thing that I don't like about Linda is the lack of communication with her daughter for everything else I think she is a good mom.
@@_sinco_clair_2301 that’s an interesting perspective that i’d never thought about. I don’t think the problem is necessarily with her mom remarrying, she was properly skeptical at first but she doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable around Lawrence, I think it’s just that she wants a better relationship with her mom (In her dream in “Phineas and Ferb Get Busted” she is shown as dreaming of Linda apologizing and hugging her, calling her “the best daughter any mother could dream of having”. But I think this also stems from Lawrence’s lack of care, he openly participates in several of phineas and ferb’s inventions like the monster truck and the fathers day airplane. Candace probably is aware he doesn’t care so tells her mom. But I like your theory
Well done, this is the first theory that feels like it has actually been planned out and backed with evidence and takes into consideration edge cases where there might be evidence against it
I always thought Interview with a Platypus was a big reg flag to confirm this theory. Even though Phineas and Ferb's invention no longer worked by the time Linda arrived, it was still one of the times when she outright saw one of their creations and didn't go wild, and I immediately became suspicious of her act. Also, if her husband was also taking part in her kids' activities, you would expect her to be in on the news as well but playing the innocent card for the reasons stated in the video.
Linda would have to be incredibly callous to continue the charade as Candace gets closer and closer to her inevitable stress-induced breakdown, especially if the motive is financial. After all, she has two genius engineer sons. She could simply ask them to spend an afternoon building something for her to sell, and she'd make way more money than she could ever get selling her stories.
Just noticed Something here at 9:11 the clip were their mom is at the airport and all the flights are delayed, if you search for each of them you'll see that those flights either had an incident or had crashed previously during the making of Phineas and Ferb
This was awesome, I love how you explained it all! This might be one of the coolest theories I've ever heard about any animated show, great job explaining it!
It's canon that P and F afford their activities using the money they charged for the rollercoaster at the beginning of summer. As for how they build the roller coaster... Maybe a loan? For kids? Nah! I love your theory. Excellent fodder for fan fictions.
The only thing I'm confused about is why Candace never thinks to get her dad to bust her brothers. He's seen the crazy shenanigans they get up to on multiple occasions, surely he's aware and capable enough of doing so. All she'd have to do is convince him that what they're doing is too dangerous and he'd tell them to cut it out. Definitely an easier feat than getting her mom to see it, what with the universe conspiring against her.
The money can also come from the boy's inventions. I refuse to believe that all their inventions were taken by the Mysterious Force. Tony even offered the boys a summer internship in the Marval mash up episode. He obviously fully intended to buy some of their ideas but was turned down because Phineas said their summer was already booked.
Even Film Theory has never had me so sold on a Theory like this. Very well done with really great evidence man even with displaying evidence to try and debunk it and making sure it works makes this look even better! If only Candice could hear this it would probably bring her some closure.
Not to mention, in the episode Primal Perry, Phineas and Ferb made it so that Baljeet would be able to clone himself whenever Baljeet was faced with a decision, so that he would see the outcome of both choices. Candace brought Baljeet to Linda and asked her "how many Baljeets do you see?" to which Linda replies "There is *only one* Baljeet," while winking at Baljeet, as if to tell him to play along with her. This implies that Linda knew that Baljeet could clone himself and wanted to make sure he wouldn't clone himself so that Candace would look bad.
When Candace sent her mom the picture of Phineas and Ferb as babies and she said "thanks for the old baby picture" I'm like how can she think they have an old picture of Phineas and Ferb as babies if they're step brothers?
I think it's pretty easy to realize that th moment that the dad was involved in one of their buildings he would have told Linda at the evening. Which is how I believe she found out about the whole thing
There's something you missed it was the episode where Phineas and Ferb were creating the biggest painting ever on a beach wow I can't believe still remember this but I remember the kid's father they were doing the painting for thanked Linda for her contributions in some science field I don't remember what field but she told that kid's dad to be quiet about that.
I love how the finale the mom walks out and sees everybody on stage jamming out on a giant stage and watches as Phineas presses a button and has it disassemble

Thereby, I reckon the money she earned as a one-hit wonder is what allowed her to get to where she was till that summer (economically speaking). Why would Linda not tell her, notice Candace's mental health is declining, and STILL not tell her? It's unlike her character.
True I definitely see your point. But I think the reason she never did anything to tell Candice Dispite here mental health is because ether
Or they confirmed it by telling the mom about it
Her voice actress totally thinks Linda knows about their inventions!! So we have another supporter in this theory!

Damn! It is a plauseble theory but If it's true then... Linda cares nothing for Candace's mental health at all.
Ya if it were true then that’s not a great parenting tactic
Yea but either way its poverty or no busting either way candice is not doing well
I know, it's so sad to think that even in a Disney show, the mom has spent Candace's entire life gaslighting her...as someone who has been gaslighted for all of my younger years, it makes me feel for Candace...if only she had told Candance that she knows but she is choosing to keep it a secret then maybe things would have worked out. But anyways, I know most people just want to watch this because this theory is amazing, so I'm gonna stop talking about mental health now.
Do you.. Forget it
She’s probably the villain in disguise. She did have a short fling with Doofinschmirtz, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
6:21 this has me feeling like maybe this one is right because i saw her computer and tried doing stories about her dark past
What if Linda divorced her first husband because she saw him getting mad at Candace for creating something big for her age and that became a trauma for Candace thus she’s so enthusiastic at busting Phineas and Ferb for their creativity but Linda ignores her because she doesn’t want to think that she was wrong for divorcing her first husband as she’s already deeply in love with Lawrence.
another theory that linda is the worst mom ever lol but still an interesting theory
That is such a stretch and I don't think it's a good reason to dislike Linda. There is no proof. Linda could've divorced the guy because he kissed a monkey. This is kind of a similar situation with Dexter's mom from Dexter's Laboratory. She only finds out about everything in the future (by time-traveling Phineas and Ferb) where it doesn't matter anymore as they are now adults outside of her authority.
you ate this up
I agree. I believe she’d proud and amazed
@@bigbambi718 😭😭😭
Yes but you can also make the argument, that the reason why there inventions disappear, is spasificly to mess with Candace, and not Linda
In the episode where Candace gets dragged into throwing a party, the opposite event happens where for a moment, the “mysterious force” tricks Candace into believing the same force that makes phones and ferbs inventions dissapear apply to her as well, and she happily lets her mom check it out, only for the party to return INSTANTLY, and Candace gets grounded, because her mom told her NOT to throw any parties
It’s possible that simmaler to Murphy’s law, Candace’s mysterious force is likly trying to urge her to enjoy herself and not worry so much about the things her brothers are doing, because she’s shown on multiple occasions that when she’s with them, she can do what he moms asked her to do, all the wile, enjoying more of her life, and her brothers
When you look back at it, she wasted way more of her summer then the boys did, and there are multiple times where she, her friends and even her mom acknowledge that Candace’s obsession is ripping her appart, they exspress consern, and suggest that she just let it go, or at the vary least, take a brake
And normaly she’s at her happiest when she does so fully
Just look at Linda’s parents, her mom was a roller rink champion, and her grandfather was an elobrate prankster, together they would go to some pretty far lengths to pull pranks, or archive something
Then you can look at lourences parents, the flying fish monger, and, whoever his mother turned out to be, I can’t remeber.
There’s also both parents Ex Lovers, who each most have had something strange going on with them as well
And to top it all off Linda herself is a multitalented entertainer
It would make MORE sense if she was always just turning a blind eye to the boys, because she knows there going to do what there going to do, but for one reason or another, she Dosent want Candace to know that, (again likly for a book, but I don’t think that’s enugh) it could also be that she herself is fully aware that Candace can’t be making it up, but maybe she herself Dosent actualy want to see, or acknowledge theses things, because she knows that if she saw just how intense there inventions were, she instinctually couldent stop herself from shutting down the boys for good, and instead puts her trust into Candace, who again, has actualy been keeping them safe
What episode is that
Shes actually the creator of the entire show.

It could also, simply be that Linda's family has money seeing as her sister and brother-in-law are able to afford to spend their lives traveling around the globe without either of them having a job.
that got dark real quick
wasn't doofenshmirtz Phineas' father or something. Would explain his inventions and more.

“Didn’t Linda earn enough money as a popular singer back in the 80s?”
I did want to mention it, but ultimately decided to cut this part out in order to avoid making an excessively long video x)
Here’s my answer to that:
Linda did get quite famous in the 80s, due to her song “I’m Lindana and I wanna have fun”, and this could explain the majority of her family's wealth, and, possibly, that's also the reason why she bought that house in the first place.
(For the sake of simplicity, let’s assume her first husband/partner didn’t affect Linda’s life economically speaking: neither in a good, nor in a bad way.)
As for royalties, considering how ruthless and shady Huge-o-Records intended to be with Phineas and Ferb's single "Gitchee Gitchee Goo" (profiting off of their song without the boys' consent), I suspect the very same thing happened years before to Linda herself.
At least, that’s how I see it xD Her past life is pretty blurry, so for all of you who kept talking about her song money:
many of us know about her “singer arc” but let's keep in mind that she didn’t rely on any other income (that we know of) after those few concerts in the 80s. After all, there’s approximately a 15-year gap, between her pop star years and the current summer, we know nothing about and I bet the money Linda earned as a singer wouldn’t last more than 15/20 years x) And even if it did... This is just a theory. A film theory, aaand cut xD
Brief reminder for those lovely complainers out there: a theory is just a fun mental exercise, a supposition intended to explain something (in a fun way, I might add), it doesn't have to be the one and only truth, otherwise it wouldn't be called a theory but just "facts" x)
Have a nice day, people!

In the last episode she Saw the giant flat screen.and see the video of they previous inventions, it Candace books she sold stuff in the whale,or song one,
tl;dr
Also the books, and other side hobbies.
Also something that supports the theory of their mom using Candaces rants for profit is when she played music when Candace was reaching out to her in the EVIL BOYS song. Instead of helping her stop her busting obsession, she uses her to make money of her music.
Eh no money was made in the scene she already had planned songs to play

@@SpFlash1523gaslighting her and acting like she’s crazy most certainly is- Even if she does know
i have a weird theory how phineas and ferb became very smart and how they got their knowledge on a lot of things-
maybe one day doof made an inator which makes people turn into geniuses and decided to shoot himself but then perry went to thwart him as usual and hit phineas and ferb during pery and doof's fight
but thats just a theory but id like to believe this one

0:52 i was just telling my mom about this scene
French lesson: "turn around your kids are entering a spaceship *repeats the same thing in french*"
linda: "No one is going to use that in an actual conversation."
I like to assume this too
For me it wouldn't have changed anything even if she didn't act like she dont know anything.

On the “what’s their job” part. You forget that Linda is a one hit wonder. It’s possible that she still gets paid a lot of money for her song.
Linda was a rock star. As Lindana, she made enough money for her and Lawrence to effectively retire. They probably make a little money from the antique store, but most of their expenses is covered by her record sales.
I mean, we know that the dad is aware of what the boys can do. But he also doesn't make a big deal out of it.
I’m convinced that Candace is doofs daughter. Her and his daughter look way to similar and her mom and him did date awhile back. And since candaces mom raises her that would mean she gets child support from doof. Which could explain how they have so much money also.

What...does she think doing this will end world hunger, bring peace to all nations and make the world a better place? If anything, Phineas and Ferb have come close to doing all three MULTIPLE time. Meanwhile, what has Coup du Crayon achieved during the summer?

Linda is at fault though because she's enabling her daughter's instability by doing nothing about Phineas and Ferb.
She would literally have more content to write about if she joined the boys
@@dex5727 Exactly... she'd rather torment her daughter than be a good mother.
The fact the timestamp for it is 9:11...

9:11?
Yes, please do make a second part to this, I’d love to know more

I mean, if I had children and they made reality-defying contraptions for the purposes of good Id be ecstatic.
This was awesome, I love how you explained it all! This might be one of the coolest theories I've ever heard about any animated show, great job explaining it!
Thanks, glad to hear that!
It's canon that P and F afford their activities using the money they charged for the rollercoaster at the beginning of summer. As for how they build the roller coaster... Maybe a loan? For kids? Nah! I love your theory. Excellent fodder for fan fictions.
They have investors. In Gi-ants, they made a scale model of their giant ant farm “to get the investors interested”.
@@DifferentReader and they have several building contracts with various institutes across the city. Even the city hall commissioned them at one point
poor candace... she would have gaslighted her daughter if this were true..........
3:14 “Candace, you’ve got to stop stealing babies tho.” 💀
The only thing I'm confused about is why Candace never thinks to get her dad to bust her brothers. He's seen the crazy shenanigans they get up to on multiple occasions, surely he's aware and capable enough of doing so. All she'd have to do is convince him that what they're doing is too dangerous and he'd tell them to cut it out. Definitely an easier feat than getting her mom to see it, what with the universe conspiring against her.
Not to mention that phineas asked him if they could make or modify something
Linda might find out they're grounded and unground them thinking her husband is being harsh or crazy like Candace.
That's exactly what I thought
@@shauryaverma2705 I know right
I think it's pretty easy to realize that th moment that the dad was involved in one of their buildings he would have told Linda at the evening.
This changes how I see the show
I love how the finale the mom walks out and sees everybody on stage jamming out on a giant stage and watches as Phineas presses a button and has it disassemble
