I think Candance suffered from big sister syndrome. When you’re the oldest, it’s like you have motherly senses for your younger siblings. You want to protect them like your parents. In reality , it seemed like Candace was mean or a party pooper but it was just her being worried about them all the time.
I read a theory that their father, Linda's husband, was an inventor who was constantly building and creating new things. When one day, something went wrong and he died because his machine malfunctioned. At the time Phineas was young but Candace was old enough to understand. So she prevents them from inventing so that they dont end up like their dad.
That... And it's just fun to get the little brats 'busted' sometimes lol.

I absolutely love how despite the numerous times Candace had made an absolute fool of herself in awkward but funny interactions with Jeremy, he always showed attraction and affection for her, no matter the severity of her insanity and obsession with him. That’s part of the reason why I adore this pairing.

I love this ship. They took their time to develop it, but not too long that we were sick of it. They genuinely care for each other and Jeremy is such a nice guy. And they treated their relationship with respect, letting them have their first kiss. Some shows nowadays tell you characters are in relationships, when they have little to no chemistry or they dont show any affection towards each other
