I agree with this assessment. The tank here lacked the necessary game sense, mechanical function, and overall game knowledge to be with GM (flats dps) in a ranked environment.

This has nothing to do with the matchmaker. If a player gets boosted, the game has literally no way of knowing that this account, which has been playing at a master's performance, has suddenly shifted to being a silver player at best. How is the game supposed to predict that a player is suddenly bad now??

The fact that people defend that is wild (unless they're just joking). There is no way with the mechanical skill shown they are in that game for any reason other than boosted or trolling. I've only been playing since OW2 and its blatantly obvious.

I lowkey don't think its boosted because during round 1 they hammered enemy twice and enemy was 1 hp and instead of hammering a 3rd time to finish them off they just backed away, I don't think even a bronze player would do that, with a bronze brain ur a big guy with hammer, u can 1x5, this dude is backing away as a rein, nobody knows how to press backwards in low elo

definitely a troll, the sleeping Dva is what got me, he could have pinned, ignored or even started swinging a bunch, but instead he sees the sleep drops shield, swings one time to wake her up and puts shield back up, a good player would probably have pinned and a low rank player would have either left them asleep or started swinging like there's no tomorrow. hard trolling by waking her up like that.
You've not been in low elo long enough if you don't think a shield-only Rein would just poke her once and then run away.

I'm diamond. Now, with the current mish-mash of matchmaking, I don't know what rank my Ashe was, but here is what deserves to be comedy skit:
I'm on Ana. The fight is lost, I'm reloading, no nade, I'm 1hp and I'm just running away. I turn the corner and I see my low HP Ashe a few meters ahead, also running away. Then I hear DVa boosting at me from behind, about to turn the same corner, I do a 180 insta sleep dart before the DVa can react with matrix (kind of proud of myself there) and I keep on running.
All is good until my Ashe turns around...she stops...she looks at the sleeping DVa...then looks at me...then looks at DVa again...and SHOOTS A SINGLE FUCKING BULLET. The most hilarious thing is how she jumped and jittered right after that shot, she was definitely terrified of what she's just done :DDDD
A second later we were both dead.
I think what a lot of people including flats missed, was that this individual had to look at their keyboard to press the interact button to take the Sym teleports, and that's probably why they missed the first TP to begin with. This leads me to believe one of two things: One, this individual has special controls/is completely new to OW, meaning that this is a purchased account and most likely not "boosted" but sold at a high rank. Or two, this is some kid on his or her older sibling's account. The choppy aim and constant panicking looks like that of a child who's never played on MnK before, and is used to playing on an Xbox, but wanted to play on PC. The trash talk against the DPS and the lack of awareness says (to me at least) definitely an Xbox kid who's never really been shown what good gameplay looks like, and is a high gold on console.
TL;DR
I think it's either a kid who's used to xbox playing on their sibling's PC, or this is an entirely new player who bought a high rank account and has no idea what's going on.
I had a guy throwing my comp game earlier too. Used ball and just rolled around never hooked onto anything never shot anything just kept rolling and hiding in corners until they got found and killed. ended the ranked game with less then 200 damage from some mines they put down on a nanod rehinhardt

Oh that is big issue I had in ranked. When my tank just was to scared to take space even though my duo queue popped off and got two of the enemies. He didn't take space until his nemesis form was ready as ramattra as if he only can take space in that form. The match maker screwed me there a lot as I had countless tanks just not want to tank yet they queued up for it lol.
I have the opposite problem. When I tank everyone else is too scared go move forward.

That TP at the beginning, that's more than I can say for my teammates in plat, especially on that point of Lijiang. I love playing Sym but my team only takes that TP like 2% of the time. Like they had the option to bypass their damage from the choke, but they choose to stay through it as though they don't know that TP exists.
Poor flats put his whole team on his back and still lost 😅
In a GM lobby, everyone should be decent at the game. This dude didn't even know where he left his lunch.

Sweet, it's not just me getting these players in ranked. Back to mystery heroes where players queue because they are good at every role instead of just one or two heroes.
Thats the opposite reason people play mystery heroes.
I play Mystery Heroes because it is supposed to be for fun and I'm indecisive. We are not the same.

Overwatch should do a test one day and just put absolutely everyone in GM and let the chaos ensue and whoever deranks will truly deserve the derank while the rest struggle to keep up and prove they are good enough for higher ranks.
This is the kinda stuff I deal with all the time. It was really eye opening to get a masters lobby and experience a full team of 5 players knowing how to play the game. Looks like the ow team still has some matchmaking things to work on..
I think Bliz will be a bit embarrassed when they see this high profile example of something they claimed they're cracking down on.

Silver 2 checking in. They are definitely boosted as I can see the 'trash' plays I make when rewatching games, but they still aren't this bad.
I think a 3rd possibility has to be considered, falling over drunk/floating away high.

this guy looks at the ground like a new player trying to see where they are going.
The sad part is that even as a Console Plat player, I see shitlords like this in one out of every 5 or 6 games. Just runs into the enemy head first, has 0 spatial awareness of where the enemy is around them (or their team for that matter), spams the attack button and every ability they have while simultaneously hitting everything in the environment BUT the enemy, tries to play from the backlines at the weirdest times with heroes meant to be in the enemy's space, and then starts screaming at their DPS for being trash and their Supports for not healing enough.
Like it constantly surprises me seeing Content Creators trying to explain away that no, some players can’t possibly only have 2 brain cells dedicated only to walking forward and shoot. But like yeah play in the mud and you’d be amazed at what you see

Definitely a boosted account, I think. My reasoning: 13:40. This man is panicking on point, when no enemies are even looking at him. All logic goes out the window. He did not pin the Dva off point because it never occurred to him to do so. Instead, all he is focusing on is his team is dying and they are losing, so time to flail around with a rein's hammer and hope for the best.

Welcome to matchmaking in 2023. I see this type of match ups ALL the time of wildly different skill bases.

This guy wasn't trying to throw... He was 100% boosted or a bought account. The shield only Rein, the not understanding how the TP works and having to sit there to figure out what button to press, poor positioning, getting lost, not able to track cooldowns, not using DM correctly/trying to DM beam, playing behind the DPS, staying away from the grav... This is all stuff I see from Bronze randos in QP. I've seen PLENTY of people throwing and this isn't legitimate throwing. This is a bronze level player who's used to getting carried by the T500 players because they bought their account and they're getting pissy because they're losing.

To that guy that Flats said their comment about pro player saying how bad the player is as if he wasn't aware of players below him, shut the HELL UP. I understand that there is people who are actually like that, but Flats is defo not one of those people, he is one of the very few people I can actually trust in the OW community and knows his stuff and knows how to ACTUALLY balance things and everything. In terms of including not just OW but also every other game, this man is still one of the only few people who can actually cook and make a 5 Michelin (don't know how it's spelled) Star plate. Let alone can make a decent meal. He genuinely knows what he's talking about and knows a good amount of the in's and out's in business in general, especially in gaming businesses. He knows his stuff unlike most top players for ANY game.
People like to shit on flats for having opinions when he is entitled to his own especially after playing the game for so many years. People always say he has a bias for tank and cried consistently, but everybody does everybody has complaints about his game and he comments on every problem not just tank.
It’s also gotten worse with new players coming in from 2, I have seen so many people on his tiktok and UA-cam immediately attack his looks as if it has anything to do with his content

This is recent enough that it may just be they got a really good game and got shot up into Masters as part of the anti-smurf mechanism in competitive. I know I'm not a very good player, but I can usually do something in QP. In competitive, I get one good game and then the next few I can't do crap because I'm outclassed that hard.
when you see people walking into a wall it could be spotty connection. I had a game where i was diva had a bad connection saw myself in the p.o.t.g it was the dumbest and funniest thing i saw.

there's been so many people that are plat and below in season 2 now suddenly masters/GM with a ~50% win rate. I'm really sick of ranked inflation since there's a lot of people in my mid masters games that have no idea what they're doing
With the current state of matchmaking I don't think it really matters what rank anyone is anymore. I was in a match with a Grandmaster the other day and I'm Silver 2. Lol

Ranks aren’t inflated they are lower than their supposed to be right now.
@@robertzehm 95% of the masters players I've seen in my lobbies were plat in ow1. Ranked is entirely broken rn and ranks are infinitely higher than they should be

OW2 had a huge influx of new players, and according to Blizzard the vast majority of those players are bronze.
When a very large amount of new players starts occupying the low ranks all of the old players naturally get shifted upward without them having to improve at all.
Crazy idea but new OW2 players should've been kept in a separate pool for while. Blizzard can tell if you had an account playing OW1 and could've just kept their same ranking criteria for all of them.
@@zacheryjones6700 oh for me and this is fckin wild when I started back in overwatch 1 i was plat tank when I started I only played the last three seasons before O2 launched. But after three seasons in O2 im a masters tank. For dps i was silver the last season of O1. Now I am d2 and pretty confident on getting masters and support im just hard stuck plat 1.
looked like trolling to me. I have an alt that I wanted to be placed in silver/gold for and this guy looked like me when I threw my placements. Being around but never making an impact. doing small fake engages that lead to certain death. Waiting in the back like you're trying to group. dying right after you group. not fulfilling the basic duties of the role what so ever

the lowest elo player on your team should have an equivalent on the other team but when the your anchor is a tank and theirs is anything else the difference is massive

Tbf tho, highest I hit on tank was low diamond and they put me into grandmaster/masters lobbies too. I just didn't place there because I stopped playing after we lost 5 games in a row and I was still in masters lobbies (nowhere near my skill range)

BEGGING YOU to look up Overwatch 2 boosting services, I promise you you'll be UN-pleasantly surprised at how many there are. Seems that ever since OW2 there's been a massive influx of players who think they belong in GM and will pay someone to get them out of "elo hell". I've encountered two people who've outright admitted it because the game was so hard at a GM level that they got overwhelmed and apologized for it. Really weird that it's even a thing we have to worry about.
Higher ranks exist for a reason... to weed out bad players like that. If he was really just bad, he should not be there, and he is boosted
