your honest opinion and detailed explanation is much appreciated.
you are absolutely right about reversal lane ,Jarvis street in downtown Toronto has a reversal lane in the middle of the road and its confusing.

    Hi Patricia,
What a pleasant surprise to stumble across your channel like this, definitely subbed😃
I'm an early career Petroleum Engineer looking to make my move to Calgary within the next 1 to 2 years. I'm currently in Australia where the oil and gas industry is very small, so this is a career driven decision. I hope you don't mind giving me your thoughts on this please ?

    • @patricialing

Hello! Thank you for subscribing ☺️ that’s awesome that you plan to move out here! Calgary is an awesome Canadian city. Now with the oil and gas industry, there are jobs for them. I would recommend securing one before you come out here as sometimes they can be hard to come by especially if you want a certain position. (Just like any other job) I do know that people that work for oil and gas do travel a lot throughout Alberta, they will work 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off or depending on the place you work for. You usually commute or get flown into a different part of Alberta for the actual work but I know some people do work from home which may be the case for your position. Sorry I am unfamiliar with petroleum engineer and what it consists of, but I am sure you will find a position out here. Definitely gets very cold here compared to AUS but very beautiful to live here ☺️ hope this helps a little bit. Thanks for watching

Cost off living houses are very affordable, food is pricey and depending on what you buy.
The weather is amazing….. but sometimes it’s very cold.
When I moved here from T.O. I lived in a townhouse condo with a garage. I have never had a problem.
Yes I miss the lakes and tress…
The recycling fee is included with Ontario you never see it when you return it. The good thing is you get the money back in Alberta.

People get a lot of facial injections here. Also I'm not sure why people say there's no swimmable lakes to swim in the summer. I've found numerous warm and cold lakes that are fine to swim in. The Bow is great to swim in too.

I don't have much experience with Edmonton but I do personally know a family that has moved there and they would prefer it there. It is more cost efficient from my knowledge then calgary since it would be considered less desirable for some people.
