- I have been testing a lot of new foundations and I think they are all wonderful formulas. I wanted to break down my thoughts even further so today I am presenting an overview of all of the foundations I have recently purchased and I am going through the claims of each as well as my thoughts and preferences. I have worn all of these foundations many times so my thoughts are a result of extended use. I hope this is helpful!

Hi Lexi! All of your reviews are so helpful. Thank you! I have used the KGD Moisture for years and bought the new formula but still using an old bottle. I bought the same shade as usual - 113 - so hopefully it is not different in the new formulation! I also just bought Suqqu but it has not arrived. Excited to try it with your experience being so good. Have a great day.
I am so tempted to order the pinker shade of the suqqu and try it out! It is fantastic! As for the kgd, you will probably be fine with the color. I think the problem is mostly for people whose number is not in the new formula.
Excellent and thorough review Lexi, I know how much work this was. I did a concealer video last year and did a similar concept where I showed all the concealers on different days and wear test, so much work! 👏💕

Really appreciate the review. I have all the foundations besides Suqqu... totally agree with the rundown of the foundations. Channel had to return... not good for oily skin. Favorite is Cle de Peau and Koh Gen Do.

I really want to try the suqqu one but I’m not sure what shade should I take..
nevertheless191 it is tough. You can get an estimate from findation.com. They don’t have this exact one but the numbers are similar to previous ones. This new foundation has added a zero to the numbers. The suqqu website has a color chart also but i found it challenging to choose. Good luck! I hope you can find a good match!

Great video! I’m super curious about the Suqqu (and the whole brand in general- at some point I’ll bite the bullet and get the global shipping for selfridges!) and Cle de peau. I recently got the Chanel and love it for a light day to day foundation.
I just started trying SUQQU this summer and the brand is amazing! Definitely worth trying at some point. They are now carrying it at cult beauty and I believe they have free shipping if you reach a certain total. It may be worth looking at! I am glad you love the Chanel also - they did a great job with this one!

I've ordered the Suqqu in 110 today based on your swatches. I can't t wait to try it! I'm going to wait to visit a Chanel counter before buying the Les beige to check out the shades.
I love the KGD aqua, so will definitely be trying the moisture foundation. I'll wait for the Beautylish giftcard event for that.
I think Harrods is the only place that stocks CDP in Europe so unless they have a free shipping code, I probably won't get to try that one. €30 shipping from UK to Ireland is too much!
Have you tried Shiseido Synchro Glow foundation? This, the KGD Aqua and Surratt Dew drop are my absolute favourites.

Thank you Lexi for this thorough and honest foundation round up! So appreciate it. Felt the same way about the Chanel Les Beiges. Super light & it started to wear off on me at the 6-hour mark, even with powder setting it down. I have oily skin, with dry cheeks. Loving the Suqqu so far! and excited to try out Cle de Peau if I can get a good foundation match.

Thanks for the reviews! I was considering ordering the samples of the Koh Gel Do Aqua because people love it so much, but I am very dry. I think I am comparing everything to the Chanel Healthy Glow and Water Tint and it doesn't sound like either of the Koh Gen Do formulas would offer anything better. I also suspect their brown shades are very orange based on the swatches I've seen and photos of women on the website.
Yes they are pretty different. Aqua is more like the new sublimage on the skin with that melted in appearance. If you try the dior primer sometime, i would love to know what you think. I think it would work well for you.

For me, the future skin is fairly light in coverage and really looks like you don’t have makeup on. I think the suqqu is much more perfecting and offers more coverage. Texturally they are similar but Chantecaille is a little lighter/airier in consistency. I hope this helps!

Nancy R i think you would be able to take the same shade. You could try contacting koh gen do’s customer service to verify or see what findation.com suggests to confirm. I always double check with findation when possible.

I almost got the Chanel one but it’s more light to medium. Plus many have also said it doesn’t last long. I haven’t ever gotten anything from Ko gen do but I am intrigued now.
RaRa koh gen do does foundations and face powders very well! They are worth a try sometime.

I’m still in love with the Aqua. But the Cle de Peau is calling my name. Also, Koh Gen Do does not offer the new formulation, yet, of the Moisture foundation. ☹️ Have you ever considered testing out the new Trinny London BFF De-Stress? It sounds interesting for a tinted serum type foundation.
Thank you Susan! Koh Gen Do’s US site has the new and old moisture formulas right now so be sure to look closely. I have the new one linked but the correct page will say new on it and mention that it has been reformulated after thirty years. I have not tried any Trinny London products. Where do you purchase them?
Oh, I’m sorry, I meant Koh Gen Do did not have the new formulation in their samples. If you order the Moisture Foundation samples, they are the old formulation. Other than Trinny London’s website, I’m not sure where you can purchase her products. I’ve seen make up artists on YT use her products, Wayne Goss, Andrea Ali, etc. But I would love to see a Beauty Enthusiast, such as yourself, share your opinion on her new foundation. And it’s quite reasonable priced!

That Koh Gen Do moisture is just so good, it’s my favorite by far. I try not to think about the cost, lol. I would love to try the Suqqu but I need a US retailer to start carrying it, I just can’t with the shipping. I know this is not new but great video!

Thank you! I have the new Suqqu foundation brush on the way and that looks promising. I have been really loving the chikuhodo t11 and the koyudo fu pa 03 which is discontinued i believe. I also really like the little Guerlain l’essentiel brush but wouldn’t mind more surface area so i am excited to see the suqqu one! I will put up a video about them after i test out the new one. I’d love to see you do a video where you show your fav brush for every purpose: serum foundation, creamy foundation, eyeshadow crease, cream shadow, Pat McGrath special shadows, heavily pigmented blush or bronze, regular blush or bronze, cream blush etc etc ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Is the KGD Aqua foundation formulation new from the old one? I know they updated the moisture foundation, but is the aqua also updated? Or is this the one that has been around for a while?
Marya the aqua was reformulated before the moisture - i think 2019 perhaps? It hasn’t been redone again.

The aqua is available through the kgd website and some department stores. Sephora also carries it. KGD has sales periodically for 25% off so i would recommend waiting for a sale.

The westman atelier is the only one i have reviewed so far. I also have the Jane iredale liquid but i don’t think i reviewed it. I would like to try kjaer weis sometime. Btw, i love the Westman Atelier foundation and wear it often!

Lynn Hom i had a shiba who was the best dog ever! She passed away now (she was 16) and i would love to get another one but my husband is not in agreement. To be fair, she didn’t like him and he didn’t like her hair but she was the most loyal companion! I am hoping when my daughters get older, they can convince him!
This is very helpful! I was curious about Koh Gen Do foundations. I'm tempted... but I probably have 10 new ones in stock 😂. I've had foundation empties and usually try not open too many at a time.
Wait until you have finished up some foundations because if it is like the last formula, you have about thirty years before they change it!

I don't know! That is a good question!
I just compared ingredients on the two based on what lancome lists on their site and they are different but there are some similarities.

Lexi Jong I love Lancôme foundations and skincare, I’ve been buying it for years, several formulas according to your skin type. Their bronzer also has skincare properties, I use the Absolue loose powder for finishing when I’m not using the Guerlain Meteorites. Their blushes are oil free, so I don’t tend to reach for them that much.
Diane Reiser my mom has some weird allergies and only wears Lancôme. Unlike me, she rarely wears makeup but she has always loved their skincare! I think the brand doesn’t get enough love!
I paid $96 4 the koh gen do aqua foundation,where r u guys all getting it 4 $77..also dnt u think the koh gen do aqua foundation is really similar 2 the chanel les beiges healthy glow? 2 me they look the same in my skin
The prices have gone up significantly since this video. For me the koh gen do has a bit more coverage than the chanel and the radiance looks a bit more natural but of course different shades make a huge difference as well. If the Chanel works for you, stick with it! If you are interested in KGD products, I would definitely check out dermstore or skinstore during a sale or koh gen do has sales around some of the bigger sale holidays like memorial day.
