I love both Leonard Cohen, and Eivor - this was really beautiful. Cohen wrote such deep songs, and he comes highly recommended especially for people who love beautifully crafted and often witty lyrics.
I grew up with my mom playing Leonard Cohen all the time. When I was a kid, I didn't understand what he was saying (I'm Norwegian) and I didn't like him. When I started understanding English, I realized he was amazing, and started listening to him more and more. Every song of his is a poem, yes often dark and kinda depressing, but also filled with wisdom. And, he certainly did have a sense of humor too. I don't think you'll ever regret diving into his collection of songs.
Nice to see (finally) more reviewers picking up on Eivor. She's so damn good. 👏 Think this is from the same concert as Falling Free. Another amazing vocal performance.
Great reaction, loved your take on a lyrical classic covered by one of the planet’s great voices. The Leonard Cohen rabbit hole defines “deep” - The Chelsea Hotel (his affair with Janis Joplin) Bird On A Wire (oft covered) and Goodbye Maryanne (he and she were a classic star crossed couple) are just a few famous ones. Or, you know, more Eivor 👍🏻🤟🏻😃

Eivor is so fantastic!!! Her music is so diverse and potent yet beautiful!
Eivor covering Cohen is just fantastic.
I love everything written by Leonard Cohen, the original was good but this is even more powerful.
This makes me cry every time.
Respect guys - the first reaction to a singer from the Faroe Islands I've ever heard !

This is the best cover of any song I have ever seen and I have seen some brilliant ones.
Interestingly, L. Cohen originally had a voice lower by 3-4 octaves :)
I love Cohen music.
Thx
Excellent review!! So pleased to hear what y'all had to say 💙🎶
I've only just found your channel but I got one for ya. Hallelujah covered by the late, great Jeff Buckley... amazing.
Give the original a crack. It's worth it...though that cover was absolutely fantastic. Nice reaction. All power to you.
I recommend to listen the Aurora's cover of this song. It is as enchanting and emotionnal as Eivor's rendition.
Heard it, and it doesn’t even come close..
Among covers of this tune, she's siding with Aurora. Absolutely great! Thanks for your reaction!
A good cover probably the 3d best version behind the original and Tori Amos' version. No disrespect intended I really liked this version.

Suggestion : check Cynthia Verazie cover of this song!

This video is cool. I think that it could be of use to research a service such as Promo`SM!
a woman appropriating a mans song .. beautiful voice but its only for men to sing
Awesome. I did not think anyone could truly do a Cohen song and do it justice until now.
