super to learn about hydrophobic behaviour some of my plants been showing. I always wondered, if it's so dry, why is the water run through sooo fast. I've recently poked the soil around the plant with a little stick and water it heavily. Next time I'll try you water bath tip.

Hi Nette, I hope you will try this tip. It is the best way to re-hydrate your plant. Just let it drain well after. Thanks for watching!

Hi Shirley! Can you help me with my plant? I believe it's an azalea and it was exposed to freezing temperatures overnight. I brought it inside for a couple days and it's been back outside for a week and half now. It's still completely wilted, flowers and leaves. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be indoor or outdoors (it was sitting outside of a home improvement store when I bought it) and it's still in the original pot I bought it in. Is there anything I can do to save it?

Hi BrittanyBee, Thanks for watching. For best instructions, please upload a photo of your azalea to my Facebook page: Facebook.com/Edenmakers.
The same thing happened to me with a “ florist azalea” That I thought during the holidays. A florist azalea usually comes with a decorative foil wrap on the outside where as a landscape azalea is usually just in a plastic container.
I would like to look at the condition of your plant but below I will give you some general information regarding azalea care in this situation.
Your azalea can survive temperatures as low as -35°F. It is normal for some azaleas to exhibit leaf drop and curl at around 32°F, the lower the temperature the tighter the curl. The flowers will drop from the frost damage. So your azalea will likely survive and do fine. Cut back any brown or dead areas. Fertilize the plants lightly with an azalea/camellia type plant food and water it well. Make sure it outside in full sun at least 4 hours a day.

Stir the soil a little so the edges are filled with broken soil and the water it a little and every hour a little bit after 4 Waterings the soil takes the water
