Thanks for commenting. I do like the shelves since I can easily adjust them. Using five rails screwed into 2x4 studs prevents them from warping after all these years.
Awesome video and very organize shop thanks for sharing ...and where did you buy the blue digits clock on top of your shelf ? I would like to own one.thanks
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the tour. I purchased the clock from Amazon.com. It is the Ivation16-inch Blue LED Calendar Clock. It comes in four LED colors and three sizes.
+jwrelectro Well thanks for the kind comment and for watching. By looking at your layout I'm really looking forward to your videos. There is so much you can do with all that equipment. I got the same HP 8640B from an auction for $50 not long ago. I"m not sure if it works 100% as the fine tune freq nob was bent and is not able to turn. It might still be good for bulk target signals if its working at all. I took it apart when I got it because there was screws rolling around inside. I didn't crack open the cavities of course but for sure I didn't want the screws rolling over any circuits. I will test it out sometime this winter I hope.
I got it from Amazon and just checked and it seems to be no longer available. It is a Ivation16-inch Blue LED Calendar Clock. It failed a while back and I moved on to another clock from Amazon. DreamSky 15.5" Large Digital Wall Clock with Jumbo Big LED Number Display and it is still available. Glad you liked my lab setup.
Nice to see you're back making videos. Good job on your new lab! Looking forward to see more on your home-brew electronic load... Thanks for your video.
+Karl Fell Yes, I am pretty happy with the lab layout and look forward to making videos. Just put a short 3D printer one up and I am working on my first tutorial video. Hope you enjoy the channel.
It is a Botron B3123 Dissipative (anti-static) rubber mat which needs to be grounded. It is available from Amazon and I think it is a very nice product. I do not use it for solder protection. I use a piece of cardboard from an old cardboard box when I solder.
Hi Paul, Funny I was just thinking about that topic. I have been gone from UA-cam for a few months because of health reasons but would like to get back. I have a breadboard video almost done and will try and get something on panel lettering and graphics. Thanks for asking.
I purchase them from Amazon.com. Just checked for you and they are still available. I bought two different models from the same manufacturer. The 64 drawer is model 10164 and the 44 drawer is model 10144d. Rather than a link that might break just go to Amazon.com and enter a search for Akro-Mils and those two models plus others will show-up. Hope this helps.
Yes I would like to do a video on PC boards and the CNC machine. Last week I received what I think are the lasts parts to make the conversions on the CNC machine.
I checked it out online and it sure does look the same. I also found a pdf with the same specifications. I had never heard of the Tenma... thanks for the information.
The education you are teaching is very good. A lot of knowledge and experience has given us a lot of knowledge for our teenagers. Thank you very much. I live in Ethiopia. Some repairs are not available.I'd like you to help me because I want to be a big debtor
+Howelln@theMoon Thank you for your comment and hope my videos can be helpful. I really enjoy electronics and I really like that it is such a broad field and rapidly changing, so there is always something new to learn and try out.
Have you had any problems with that orange-button PS next to the stereo? I've got one that looks very similar (apparently these are common, rebranded many times over), and last time I tried to use it, the CV/CC interactions seem broken... Thx.
I rarely use that power supply anymore since I have a couple of newer ones. In fact, to get more room for a few new items it is now in a cabinet. The times that I have used it I didn't notice any problems with CV/CC.
Sure glad to help. I got them from Amazon.com and I just checked they are in stock. The 64 drawer one is the Akro-Mils 10164 and the other one is the Akro-Mils 10144 d. Rather then a link just go to Amazon.com and put in the search field: Akro-Mils. They both will come right up and that way I don't have to worry about a broken link in the future. Hope this helps you.
I hope that you please will comment on this:-) You are right in many are saying that an analog oscilloscope is important and yes Dave from the EEVblog even says that one will learn a lot by getting one, but I do not think I have heard anyone telling why it is so fantastic to get one, I mean there have to be a reason for why it is the DSO that are been made now and the analog is almost faded completely out?
I am an old guy so I was raised on analog oscopes. Yup I have heard Dave mention the same thing and I agree with him. I think he was also pointing out that an old used analog oscope would be very inexpensive and still be a great learning tool. One advantage of an analog oscope over a digital one is "oscilloscope aliasing" and you can just google it for a lot of information on the subject. Also the analog oscope can display a contentiously variable waveform while the digital does discrete steps and then it can smooth the results by connecting the dots, (discrete points). You can easily see this by looking at a saw-tooth, triangle, or ramp waveform. As you increase the sweep speed the analog will show a contentious line while at some point the digital might show a stair step pattern. Obliviously with the proper setting and BW on the digital oscope it can effectively reduced this problem. As a hobbyist looking at some modulation scheme like AM or cat-eyes I like the analog representation better. I like both analog and digital oscopes and as you mentioned the digital ones have become the dominate amplitude-time instrument. Hope this answers your question and thanks for commenting.
kabrati, if you are referring to the drill press around 3:24 minutes in the video it is a Sears. I bought it many years ago and have been happy with it. My neighbor also has the same one and he also likes it. Unfortunately Sears says it is temporarily unavailable. It is a 2/3 max HP with a Laser trac system. Sears model number 137.219000. I am sure it is made in China and there are many look-a-likes on the Internet (The WEN model at Sears and Home Depot).
Nice video JWR. But, I think you should cover the windows so no one can look in to see what is in there. And possibly in a way that you can open it only when you are in there.
Thanks, glad you liked the video. Only one main sliding window in the garage and it has about 12-inches high opening, someone would also need a ladder, and it is on the front of the house in the open. So without a small ladder you can not see into the garage. Also I do lock it and the house has an alarm system with smart phone notification. Thanks for commenting.
They are Harbor Freight "US General Pro" 18 in. 7 Drawer Glossy Red End Cabinet For Roller Tool Chest. I got them at $189.00 USD markdown from I think over $300.00 and now they are $169.99. With 188 reviews they are almost given a full 5 star rating. My opinion are they are very nice, fair price, and I have been enjoying them.
Really nice lab setup! Sturdy, solid and has pretty much everything you need. Subbed! Liked! Smashed the bell! Hope to see more great projects shared with your UA-cam audience.
@@jwrelectro Finally organize my lab, in my channel toy can see some of my equipment and part of my lab. I have one small things side and Hard work side. Best Regards.
Yes JWR, early 80's I saw the first Fluke, love at first sight, maybe one day I will do a video showing what you should not do in your work place. Let me tell you, I work in my house and my space is ridiculously small, plus my arranging. I don't know what I need to do for solve this jejeje. Thanks for sharing.
Incredible lab. The heathkit breadboard and the isolated variac are my favorite. I'm in the process of diy similar devices.
Thank you for the kind comment. Yeah I am a very big fan of Heathkit.
Nice job putting it all together, it looks great. I'm debating doing those same type of shelves above my bench.
Thanks for commenting. I do like the shelves since I can easily adjust them. Using five rails screwed into 2x4 studs prevents them from warping after all these years.

Hi my friend, where I find the blue base from my table? This is soldering protection?
It is a Botron B3123 Dissipative (anti-static) rubber mat which needs to be grounded. It is available from Amazon and I think it is a very nice product. I do not use it for solder protection. I use a piece of cardboard from an old cardboard box when I solder.
Welcome back i'm looking forward to your next videos. Love all of your vids. Great lab/workbench.
+Roman Berger Thanks, I just added a short video of my new 3D printer. Hope you enjoy the channel.
wow this lab looks awesome. Im just now going into electrical engineering and hope to have a lab like this one day
Congratulation on pursuing a career as an EE and best of luck in this endeavor.
You mentioned doing a video showing how you letter your project boxes. I would be very interested in seeing how you do It. Thanks
Hi Paul, Funny I was just thinking about that topic. I have been gone from UA-cam for a few months because of health reasons but would like to get back. I have a breadboard video almost done and will try and get something on panel lettering and graphics. Thanks for asking.
Awesome setup, you must be very proud. Well done you, all the very best.
Thanks for the kind comment and I am happy with how it turned out.
Loving the layout, the videos help me identify stuff I need for my own lab and the layouts I want
Great, glad it was helpful.
Your lab is amazing
Thank you and glad you liked it.
Hello
Nice lab. I would like to know where you bought the electronic component drawer units. Thank you
I purchase them from Amazon.com. Just checked for you and they are still available. I bought two different models from the same manufacturer. Rather than a link that might break just go to Amazon.com and enter a search for Akro-Mils and those two models plus others will show-up. Hope this helps.
Very interesting your installation. I have a question, what is the model of your lamp white magnifying glass please?
It is a Pro'skit Model MA-1215CA and is still listed for sale on Amazon's website. Glad you liked the workshop.
Good video quality, amazing lab you have there. Looking forward to learn something from your channel. Greetings from Brazil.
Thank you for the kind comment! I have been working on a couple of videos and hope to have them completed soon. Hope you enjoy the channel.
Nice clock mister,,, did you make it.
Nope, I purchased the clock from Amazon.com. It is the Ivation16-inch Blue LED Calendar Clock. It comes in four LED colors and three sizes.
please can you make a video about your CNC machine? I'm considering to purchase one for PCB milling and maybe aluminium machining / engraving
Yes I would like to do a video on PC boards and the CNC machine. Last week I received what I think are the lasts parts to make the conversions on the CNC machine.
brilliant I'm particularly interested in how long does I take to engrave one PCB and how versatile and useful this machine really is.
I've been having trouble finding parts drawers lately. Anyone know where to find any?
I use Amazon, lots of choices.
Nice shop. Wish mine looked half as good as yours. Job well done.
Thanks, I have been happy with it.
The mercer function generator looks exactly the same as my Tenma 72-5015, apart from the colour that is.
I checked it out online and it sure does look the same. I also found a pdf with the same specifications. I had never heard of the Tenma... thanks for the information.
Tenma is the commercial name for .farnell. , in the back of tenma is uni-t manufacturer .
Great lab . 5S at his home.
Thanks, I am very happy with the lab. Also thanks for the info on Tenma, I am familiar with Uni-T... even have a couple of their products.

It sure helps to keep it organized so I can find things : ) Only problem I keep adding to it. Thanks for the comment.
wow, I remember when my dad literally built a TV with heath kit. That was so long ago... I can't imagine anyone doing something like that anymore?
Yup I also built a Heathkit TV. I think it was a 21-inch color model with a lot of individual PC Boards. Thanks for commenting.
I hope that you please will comment on this:-)
