I really hope this video goes big and newer players who haven't caught Shige's reign take the time to see just how stupidly dominant he is on some of these leaderboards. PP records may get broken time and time again, players will keep getting faster and faster mechanically, but noone will ever match this level of technical mastery over the game. Other top players might challenge each other with scores that others could replicate, but Shige will always stay unique with all the maps he completely owned. Props to Dsco and Toy!

The list is really good and I'm not complaining, just pretty surprised to see no Kyouaku Yomi Yori. His 99.07% 2936x was only outacced 4 months ago and he did it with HD in 2017.
imo his hdhr run with 19x misses is more impressive, cuz, technically, it was the first (hd)hr pass with difference in around 100x misses with the second hrnf play by Karthy at that time

It's nice to go down a trip of nastolgia train, I really hope shige comes back to osu! after his service, whether he chooses to play and become a top player again or not, just having him in our community is something I really appreciate, and it's a completely different atmosphere without shige.
an old score of his that i thought was incredibly nutty was his HD fc on lesjuh's through the fire and flames from august 2011. nobody else fc'ed the map with nomod until 2013, and his HD score was only matched by FGSky 8 years later.

Cookiezi/Shige was so ahead of his time its ridiculous. Like many people have said, PP records and rankings will always be broken, players will improve over time but one things for sure. Cookiezi was the GOAT of OSU. He set the bar so high and allowed a target for new up and coming players to reach.
What's even more impressive is that some of those plays are not even his best runs. Maybe someone might be able to in the future and it would such a sick fc.
If you do this again it'd be cool if you showed the leaderboard for a few seconds at least for the more notable scores, ended up looking most of them up. Great video though liked it a lot!

As cliche as it would be to put Freedom Dive HDHR as #1, I feel like it's stood the test of time far more than Daisuke imo. 5 years and virtually no one has gotten even close to it (besides Frankie recently), and even then, their score is still miles behind at that level. I would probably put Maid of Fire @ #2 then too tbh. Overall, lots of neat scores on this list. Always fun to shine light on old school material being destroyed in this game lmao
I don't know that I agree with that. While it's certainly the most legendary play of all time, it's been crept up on quite a bit. Feels like we get a new HR FC every couple months. The two things that separate it from the rest are the HD, which is definitely a big boost, and the acc, which was actually beaten by Varvalian on an HR-only 1xSB run. Of course, no one has the FC, HD, and acc all in one play, but it is getting chipped away at. Daisuke is pretty much unrivaled on its leaderboard. He's over 5% ahead of the second best accuracy, and 4x better than the #2 misscount.
@@Evillar I definitely see where you're coming from, but Daisuke has far less data to work with unfortunately, so I feel like it's a bit harder to properly rank it with players like WWW, [Toy], Woey, Arnold, etc not present on either the DT or HDDT leaderboards. FD is arguably the most competitive map in the entire game, and the fact that even with just naked HR, Varv, Abyssal, or Spare cannot get even close to Cookiezi's HDHR accuracy. Varv could probably put together a good HR FC eventually, but there's not a single promising HDHR run besides Frankie's that could hint at it. Not to mention the FD score was set in 2016 which is still nutty to think about haha.

@@EtienneYT I feel like the reason Daisuke does not have much plays is because the map is really uncomfortable to play and trying to get a decent score might be very tilting. Accuracy wise nobody even gets close to Cookiezi's score even without HD*, his combo is 250 more than the second best, and misscount of basically 2 (spinner was probably him getting mad) just obliterates every other score. I know I'm repeating what Evillar is saying but this may also be the reason no one's really trying to contest Cookiezi on Daisuke because it just seems utterly impossible. *I also feel that when compared to FDFD, HD makes Daisuke way harder than it does to FDFD HR with all those weird uncomfortable stream patterns, and that makes the play much more impressive.
Man I really can’t believe you did not include his hidden SS on cookie bouquets with HD. The way the mapper portrays that map is downright incredible and to get an SS is remarkable. Seriously underrated mapper and I am very glad that cookiezi got such a great play to shine a light on the map and make more people see it. I mean just look at the map for yourself. The rhythm, the movement, the patterns, the shapes, and the hitsounding WOW! It’s a masterpiece and was certainly deserving of a spot on this list.
Yeah that mapper had a lot of talent, would be a shame if they started making low effort content like "Top 20 Cookiezi Plays of osu! (feat. Toy)" instead of continuing to map. :P

Goddam, that was in a first place a score not beaten in years of osu from anybody, and in a second place one of the most significant moments in Cookiezy History (the time he decided to stop to play the game). There's simply too many good cookiezi plays to put in a list and this was a very good one. Coming back to this video on 7/27 to remember some of the legendary plays that shige has given us throughout the years.
One of the greatest highlights of Shige is when he said to Sotarks, "His maps suck don't play them." Shige is my hero.
