Did you see that his movement went from 18vert and 14armside to only 13.9 and 8 in the MLB? That's down from elite to average. A video from lance bronkowski goed in depth into it's data in japan.
Loved when you posted this on Twitter. What a great thing to catch and highlight. I'm not a MLB pitcher, and while I have a decent high level understanding of mechanics, arm angles, grip, etc. it's still amazing to me that at that level the difference between pitching a 5 inning shutout with 8 strikeouts, and not being able to escape the first inning, can be an adjustment as seemingly meaningless to most as holding your glove just a bit higher before starting your pitch. Pitching is such an absurdly fascinating and difficult craft.
