I was a Dog lover, then I took a chance and decided I wanted Ferrets, researched about them and was well informed.....or so I thought. Little did I know of how awesomely unique and ridiculously cute they were! Sorry, but move over dogs, Ferrets any day, cats? PFFFFFF I swear Ferrets are like the perfect mix of Dog and Cat qualities. They are quizzical, mischievous BUT not malicious, loyal and extremely playful, self-sufficient and can always entertain themselves! I think my favorite quality about them aside of being super curious, is how fearless they are xD they'll pounce and nibble on anything!
yep, I've had ferrets and this is totally true. You do have to care for them like they are a dog though. They are smart and engaging, but sometimes people wrongly perceive of them as being ferocious and nippy when it is just lack of respecting needs of their mental hygiene (like a dog).
Everybody knows ferrets are good at stealing, Why would they need to put that up on the video. well I guess it would be funny. You are good at noticing things.
Ronin Johnston Before we moved to California, my mother had a few ferrets and one of them used to steal wallets and bring them to her cage. Whenever someone would lose their wallet, I kid you not, we would go to her ferret's cage and 90% of the time, it was there. It was always hilarious and would never get old. I honestly don't understand why ferrets are illegal in California, angers me as I'd like to have one again.
xXturbokidXx Plays I feel bad for you, ferrets being illegal in California and all... that would bug me so much, and I know they like to steal things! I have one, his name is Bandit, he is the cutest little ferret I've seen so far, and I've seen a lot of ferrets that are about as cute, but Bandit is the cutest! But i'm hoping that maybe (there is a small possibility...) ferrets will become legal in California.
Ronin Johnston Same here. I was doing some looking about that and the reasons were like, they can bite. And I thought, "Oh, ferrets in other states don't have teeth.?" I am really hoping that ferrets become legalized. I like them because they are, like you said, adorable, and just, overall hilarious. What color is bandit?
I want to give you a thumbs up because we have a ferret but I'm not gonna do it because it's borring and so i want to give you a thumbs up and down i'm so sorry.
Ferret toys? Pffft. You kidding? All the ferrets I've had only ever wanted to play with the wrapping or box the toys came packaged in. Make a cardboard box castle; your ferrets will lose their minds.
I had these delightfully wicked war dancing wiggly weasels for 14 years (rescues). After my last monster passed I took a break in sorrow. This video really made me LOL and miss the little buggers so much and brought back so many happy memories. I'll be getting a couple rescues again soon and can't wait to enjoy their joy of life.
love these little guys! I had 3 at one time my self! Can't remember when i had so much fun!! Not excluding the work it takes to keep them healthy, safe, happy and a home of there own! This could be MY house and MY ferrets!!. You did an awesome job representing these little critters' personalities. This is hysterical because it is so identical to our group.! They totally take over your house, your life and your heart, don't they?.
Looks like you take good care of your little ones. They seem very happy and comfortable in any type of situation they find themselves in.. and well behaved! As much as a mischievous ferret can be!
1. escape from cages. 2. get into things you don't want them to.(especially when it can undo zips) 3. steal things an hide them in places(usually where they have also stored spare food. food got locked in after we found the first stash) one of ours, got carried around in the dogs mouth, by the head. Thats an adult german shepherd. Her would actually harrass the dog for a carry round. eat things you don't expect. Cherry Ripe. eventually stole the whole bar and ate it. NO side effects or should that be end results.
my ferret decieded that he didnt want to get into his cage so he escaped and digged all of the dirt out of the pot of my plant in my room and threw the plant on the floor. All of the dirt was out of the pot on the floor. it was a very big pot.
Youre #1 make sure your cages can keep the ferrets inside it when they are not out for play. I had my girl in her cage but apparantly I didnt close the latch well and in the middle of the night I feel something by my feet!! Guess who, my little girl. Im like how???? Another time I was bringing home another girl of mine from the pet store for the first time. They had her in a box with holes. Oh my god!!!! I was driving and this little baby girl managed to get out of the box!! I think I had to actually hold her for a few minutes before I can actually stop the car. But I love them so much!!! ❤️
Travelit in one of the old cages I had for my ferrets one of my girls kept finding ways to escape and I would wake up with her in my face or terrorizing my sisters 😂

+ladyinnominate no there albino, There fur is not white its transparent, its how the light reflects, also there eyes are transparent and the red is actually blood flowing :)
Thank you for sharing your awesome ferrets. They really made me smile and feel all warm inside - they are such amazing creatures and it's so cool to see how well they are looked after by you. Loved the "Narnia" watering can - was wondering how many ferrets were coming out of it!
I love your video! Your ferrets look so loved, well groomed, well socialized, and happy! You're making me miss my two that passed away after long happy lives....sniff.....
Have you ever let them play in water? Like a small tub, or kiddy pool inside another one? It's the best! Your Fur babies are so cute! I love their smell... You guys are Great "Fur baby" parents, they look so happy and healthy! Thanks again for sharing!
Along with the wrasel war dance, I always had to.laugh at their hissing. Such an odd sounding hiss. They have an interesting & long history with people.
I found two negatives to owning them. They don't live long enough. They can also catch people diseases. Positive: they are adorable playing chase through dryer duct. I wish I was that easily entertained.
I miss having ferrets! They're the best! We had a male albino named Kiki who even when he'd just woken up if we picked him up he would sigh and go limp in our arms and go back to sleep. We also had a female sable named Skittles that we had when I was in 1st grade and she played roleplaying games with my best friend and I. They're such awesome pets!
you forgot one thing they have a natural stealer instinct and they are good at it...except when we see them doing it...in that case we can get back the stolen thing a lot more easily
I have 3 ferretts myself. They are great pets! They are lots of fun especially to watch them play. I would have more if I could. Keep the great Garrett videos coming!!!
Another one, aside from stealing....escape artist. My ferret, Bunky, pulled of the exhaust tube from the dryer, popped off the plastic guard and was on the lam for three days. I was frantically looking for him, leaving the front and back door cracked overnight and was a worried wreck. He strolls in covered in dirt, looks at me like, "what's up, dude" like nothing ever happened. I wanted to wring his little ferret neck and squeeze him with love all at the same time.
As an ordinary(?) owner of(/provider for} 2 ferrets, I just have to say that this is an accurate representation of domestic Ferretness. They're fun, smart, and really good with kids - ours, and also much-smaller ones that they've never met before, while still having enough wildness in them to keep us (and the kids) on our toes, and forcing us to respect that we need to know/feel where they're coming from because really, they don't actually care unless it's interesting to them. Not as easy as dogs/cats (and i've had both in the past) in some ways, more easy in some ways (the 18+-hours-of-sleep-a-day thing is accurate, and they're pretty flexible with how those are scheduled), but they never fail to be entertaining. And they seem to keep learning new ways to be fun/difficult, which is cool. At the same time, they are unfailingly social in a cat-like way ("don't tell me what to do, and i'm not in this to please you, but if you're doing something that i find interesting, I want to be there.") And if a large (or small and more aggressive than their size warrants) dog starts doing their thing, even our least-cuddly ferret is quick to get up on my shoulders, trembling, while she continues to give him attitude, because she knows I'm 'safe.' Cool animals.
The most we had at one time was three! You have 5 or more? I admire your dedication! A little information on ferrets everyone should know. Most pet ferrets come from Marshall Farms in New York State. They have been breeding the aggressiveness out of ferrets. So when you go to a pet store and pick one up, it typically won't bite you or kill rodents. Our cat does not like our ferrets because I assume cats don't like prey that bites back!! The ferret only wants to play with the cat! Too much activity for the poor kitty! Kitty is 4 times the ferret's weight and runs like hell when she sees him! My wife and I have 20 years experience wrangling ferrets! Message me on this post and I may have an answer for you!!
No, Young Lady, Marshall Farms ARE NOT directly responsible for domesticating ferrets, but they DO continue to try to breed the aggressiveness out of these cute animals! Perhaps make them more domestic-er???
Holy smokes tootired, not sure if trolling or just stupid? For anyone considering a ferret, ensure you go to a local rescue. Marshall are a ferret mill, and are well known amongst experienced owners to produce pets who are far more likely to develop cancers and other health issues. Make sure your money goes towards supporting a local shelter who recognises each ferret as a life, a personality, a soul, not a company who sees them as profit and statics! :)
I have one, a little nuts, he dug a burrow in the garden, likes to chew my shoes, and to fight with my brother's toy dinosaur, an indominous rex, a fight to the death, and he likes to mess with the dryer's air tube, he unplugs the tube for using it as an exit to the yard.
Worzel acts like my albino ferret, Lupine. He'll just be standing there, then he'll spazz and start hopping and thrashing his head before running (or rather skidding) in some other direction. Claudette, my brown girly, stares in confusion then proceeds to steal our produce.. (avocados are her favorite, but they don't even eat them. They just stash.) Neither of them cuddle with me, though.. Claudette just bites or nips (there is a difference.. one is painful xD), and Lupine just wants to get away.
Yeah but you'll find it easily once you find out their stash location :p It's an animal instinct for them to scavenge and pilfer items and they take em back to their "safe spot". My Ferrets had a corner in my room that they'd always drag something to :p. My Phone was the funniest thing.
my ferret died of cancer and my other one ran away and has not returned. its been almost 4 months and no sign of him :'( though I might get 2 new ones I wanna name mine mudball
We live in Boston and I took in some abandon ferrets. Landlord evicted tennents and the tennents left em behind. Landlord said he was going to let mother nature take its course. I said no, they will never make it so I have them.My # is 781-790-1194. has a big huge cage. ask 4 Steve or Anne. We'll give em to you, as long as your a responsible owner. Hey do they eat Cat food?
Lee Parker Mine used to love pig melts (spleen) raw &, of course, the rare ice cream treat. Taking them for a walk to the shops took 3 times longer as, not only did they want to explore, but everyone wants to talk to them & you. Fantastic pets!
I lost it when you're darling little bino went in the watering can and out popped a sable! Oh I need to go grab a couple of my guys and give them squishes now. This is singled handedly the best ferret video on UA-cam. Thank you so much for sharing it. It shows what ferrets truly are- Love Bugs that need to keep you on your toes!
is it normal my ferret keep on getting hyperactive, and tries to play with my fingers? Mine isn't rlly great at relaxing, mostly only like 5 mins sleeping in my arms but yea… again hyperactive xD
it's probably like that cuz u only have one.... when u have 2 or more they get the energy out with each other.... having only one ferret means spending a LOT of time with him/her. the more play time u give with only one ferret will calm it down..... or go get a second one if u don't have the time.
Here are five things I think ferrets do best (based on my experiences with my own ferret ) #1 Escaping. Mitzi didn't get her nickname The Houdini Ferret for nothing. #2 Secretly stashing food all over the house. One time Mitzi came into my room with a piece of bacon and came back out with a piece of chicken. #3 Running round like a mad thing. Yes Mitzi sleeps a lot but when shes not sleeping she has more energy than a little kid who's eaten all his Halloween sweets at once. #4 Crapping. Seriously if you don't like animals that crap a lot don't get a ferret. #5 Being adorable. Enough said.
This video sums up all the wonderful moments of ferret ownership. just sucks here in the u.s. they have a lot of health problems. just lost my female Peanut to insulinoma/ cancer. my male Miles has insulinoma but is doing very well on meds. next time hopefully i can find a responsible breeder so i won't have to go through Marshall Farms although i wouldn't have traded any of my guys so far for the world. they were all amazing.
The number one thing at which a ferret excels is stealing. Number two is smelling bad. My ferret was able to squeeze itself under the impossibly small crack beneath the storm door. I didn't want him to go out but he came and went as he pleased until one day he didn't return. Eaten by a predator, I assume. Probably a hawk.
You didn't even fucking go look for him? If you brought out a bag of treats or something... Ferrets aren't territorial, if he went too far one day he wouldn't know his way back.
joevw007 Thats being totaly mean for no reasons....You don't know the whole story but can conclude such things?you are certainly butthurt and probably because people don't enjoy your attitude (assuming from your comment). Try and be respectful maybe others will be to you?? Just try it, it's free :) Have a nice one.
***** I am sorry that happened. In future they can be microchip now. It happens more than you think. They can fit in small holes. Also you can train them to come to their name with bag of treats. Mickey get into everything but he takes forever but will come. I am sorry you lost your fur baby.
Awww! Makes me miss my Boris and Natasha. Boris especially. He was HUGE for a ferret, tipping the scales at almost 7 lbs and 32 inches from nose to tail-tip. He loved his walkies. As good on a leash as any perfectly trained dog. 10 mile hike? No problem! He'd scamper along for a while before letting me know he was ready to ride in the backpack for half an hour before good to go again. Fellow hikers give you the strangest looks when you pass with a giant, white ferret on a leash and horses completely freak out. I learned VERY quickly to stuff him in the backpack when I heard riders coming.
This has to be the best video (resource) for new owners. Giving them a better insight on what ferrets are and why it's better to have 2 or more than one. And yes, they smell like musk. But once you get accustomed to it. Clear the litter daily is what the habit should be. Thank you for sharing. :) I enjoyed the video.
Ferrets are great, I have had 2, a white one and a normal with black mask. The mask one we called Mr. Jingles (yes like the mouse in "The green mile") and the white one Falkor (like in "Never Ending Story). Falkor was deaf and was abandoned by his first owner (Such a *****!) First both were fighting, who is the leader. And funny, Falkor won! Then both liked to play with the cat. They were really cute, only my visitors said: They stink! I said: Thats normal! I allways called them tenderly: My little hairy fur-wrapes ^^ Both died 4 years ago after having a long good life. :-)
I wasn't sure I could keep ferrets safe in my apartment, so I got skunks. I will not say which are better, because there is no simple answer. Research the pets you want, check local vets, know their diets, and above all, budget for their health and possible emergencies.
I have had the pleasure of having 6 of the best companions ever. They are all gone now. I was anguished with saying goodbye to them but I was there from start to finish. I would recommend anyone to give a ferret a chance as a pet that you will love and cherish.
Thank you for the wonderful video. I have 5 ferrets and I love them all dearly. I can't imagine not living without ferrets anymore. I have two that refuse to house train but it is very easy to clean up after the tiny messes they make. I suspect they weren't raised and trained correctly. I got all my ferrets as adults with previous owner(s). I suspect ferrets, who aren't kept in a clean environment, when young, are much harder to train. I think ferrets are the best pets available.
after having a "silver mitt", a dark eyed white (DEW) and a sable I can only say ferrets are great. Not as DEPENDENT as dogs and not as INDEPENDENT as cats they are a great mixture of both BUT they do need to be trained - they do have TEETH and need training about biting. They may sleep for about 18-20+ hours a day - but when they play they play at about 120% then do the SND thing (i.e. Sleeping Not Dead), there have been MANY vet visits where a ferret has died but was found to be DEEPLY asleep. In general they are great pets.
Aw. This made me miss my four ferrets so much! They all passed away, two from cancer, one from a tragic fall, and one from old age...You missed something that they do best though...steal things. Mine were excellent thieves. I love the bit where one of yours takes the iPod! Good for him!
My best friend and pet was a Ferret named Rocky and i had a blast with him. I read in a book that Ferrets life span is 5 years well mine lived 7 happy years. He got old and he got blind and all his teeth fell out but he never stopped playing when he could with me and he recognized my voice!!! Thank you for posting this video it brought happy memories :-) I will definitely get a Ferret again!
I've got an albino, 2 Cinnamon's, and a Silvermit. The baby of the bunch is a good ratter which is why I never use baits and it's a lot quicker. All four were unwanted yet they are all amazing characters. My Silvermit is an older girl missing a top and bottom fang is my favourite. They are brave little Vegemites and even take on the Horse!
I remember mine had 9 total but the hardest part is they live such short little lives and the worst is having to have the put down its really heartbreaking, the trips to the vet as they get older and develop issues, (tumors, insulinoma, and adrenal disease) and yes your ferret will more than likely get one of these and die from it. But before all that happens (lucky if they don't get those but rare) they are so much a joy to behold the little furbies !!!!
I only have two little monsters, some day I wish to have more. They're so darn cute, but they sure are little troublemakers. ^_~ I loved the one of that little fuzzy sleeping on the guy and hanging off of him. That was gold.

Do ferrets prefer to gave other ferret company or are they happy on there own with there human slave
Kristine Harkin they can be okay solitary but do better with a friend be it cat dog or ferret.
Ferrets - little spazmatic furry monsters who love stealing all of your stuff. (But they are totally worth the trouble).
Yep
and 95% snake :3

totally have a box fort for my pair. even has a little packing peanut swimming pool they like to attack from.
,,, am i the only one wondering how the white one stayed white while digging in the dirt?
Lol, cheap toys made with love is the best
Such as Carboard box castle! ^^
I know right! to Ferrets, EVERYTHINg is a toy. For Renji and Zoey, the wastebasket, empty water bottles and blankets were their favorite toys :p
Lol so funny.

What a lovely way to show these wonderful pets...I too love my 3 to bits...Forever entertaining ,forever making us giggle
I miss my ferret the one thing that is depressing about ferrets is their short lifespan 5 to 8 years.
Actually that's not a normal lifespan for ferrets, on average they are suppose to live 16-23 years old
@@Mimers217 where did you read that? Their lifespan is around 6-10 years not 16-23 the oldest ferret was 14 so idk where you found that
@@Beth_4 when I googled their lifespan that's what I had found *shrugs* still learning
That's average for Marshalls ferrets, but if you get properly bred ferrets from a reputable breeder, the life span is more like 12 or so.

I was frantically looking for him, leaving the front and back door cracked overnight and was a worried wreck. He strolls in covered in dirt, looks at me like, "what's up, dude" like nothing ever happened. I wanted to wring his little ferret neck and squeeze him with love all at the same time.
I love ferrets they are so cute and awesome!
The broom bit was hilarious!!! lols
I love a ferret war dances always make me laugh :)
Don't forget Stealing!
yeah my ferret took my lacrosse stick and hid it under neath my bed
Our ferret used to steal all the pens with rubber grips he could find. He would stash them in a closet :)
i owned a magpie, he did the same thing, but mostly stole shiny stuff
How do you think animals get domesticated???
I love when they randomly spaz out for seemingly no reason. I used to call it ghost attacks :D
i believe ferrets sleep longer than cats. :)
Yeah they do. Cats sleep on average 16 hours compared to Ferrets' 18 hours.
And then when they wake up they wreck havoc
I have one, a little nuts, he dug a burrow in the garden, likes to chew my shoes, and to fight with my brother's toy dinosaur, an indominous rex, a fight to the death, and he likes to mess with the dryer's air tube, he unplugs the tube for using it as an exit to the yard.
Top 2 things that ferrets do, 1: Be cute 2: be silly lol
Love your film! How lucky you are to have a walled in garden! I miss my ferrets.
I had one that had a trick of nipping a dangling hand when I was sitting in an armchair, & then ran away literally laughing & bouncing along.
That would be the "War Dance"!!
Thanks for sharing this! You just made a 19 month old girl (and her mom of course) VERY happy :D
Struggling to convince my dad to get me one :(
same
Kinne292 clearly if you need reminders to take care of your dog, you shouldn't own a 2nd pet :)
Did you succeed?
This is easily one of the very best ferret video's i have ever seen!!
One Thing Ferrets do Worst: Stealing.
Hahahaha, more like do best? Cuz they do it alot! ^^
LOL I love to watch them steal... like they think they are getting away with it. They are so much fun.
Yeah but you'll find it easily once you find out their stash location :p It's an animal instinct for them to scavenge and pilfer items and they take em back to their "safe spot". My Ferrets had a corner in my room that they'd always drag something to :p. My Phone was the funniest thing.
I'll have you know, I've stolen hundreds of things and only got caught 3 times.
Thoroughly ENJOYED your movie! We love all 4 of our carpet sharks!
my ferret died of cancer and my other one ran away and has not returned. its been almost 4 months and no sign of him :'( though I might get 2 new ones I wanna name mine mudball
Anne Hughes Raw meat is preferred but high quality cat food high in fat and protein is ok temporarily as long as it is grain free.
Lee Parker Mine used to love pig melts (spleen) raw &, of course, the rare ice cream treat. Taking them for a walk to the shops took 3 times longer as, not only did they want to explore, but everyone wants to talk to them & you. Fantastic pets!
Ian Hutchinson The rare ice cream treat is actually kinda bad...sorry...
Three years later, i wanna know if he gave you the ferrets...
At 6:00 ferret wants to make a call in private.
it is an iPod lol
Zombie Eater So he mistook an iPod for a mobile phone, give him a break he's just a ferret.
I don't understand how people can give this a thumbs down unless they hate ferrets. I enjoyed it and shared it.
is it normal my ferret keep on getting hyperactive, and tries to play with my fingers? Mine isn't rlly great at relaxing, mostly only like 5 mins sleeping in my arms but yea… again hyperactive xD
it's probably like that cuz u only have one.... when u have 2 or more they get the energy out with each other.... having only one ferret means spending a LOT of time with him/her. the more play time u give with only one ferret will calm it down..... or go get a second one if u don't have the time.
Here are five things I think ferrets do best (based on my experiences with my own ferret )
#1 Escaping.
Enough said.
awwwww :) 💕💕💕
Probably a hawk.
careless from you side.
I am sorry you lost your fur baby.
seems a lot of fun having those little thingies running around like crazy
HEAVEN ON EARTH!!! GOD BLESS AND TAKE CARE OF ALL THE FERRETS AND THOSE WHO LOVE AND CARE FOR THEM!!! BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!! THANKS FOR SHARING IT!!
Interesting how fast they can turn from a solid to a liquid state
I have had the pleasure of having 6 of the best companions ever. They are all gone now. I was anguished with saying goodbye to them but I was there from start to finish. I would recommend anyone to give a ferret a chance as a pet that you will love and cherish.
Your ferrets are so happy. So cute!!
Now I have three, but, once I had four, with a little white one like you have. The most lovable ferret in the world. RIP little Adèle !
Its a cute clip. Very well done with it going fast when needed to stop from getting boring. And good music.Well done.
Those are simply beautiful ferrets
Your ferrets seem to have a lovely happy life x lovely video
after having a "silver mitt", a dark eyed white (DEW) and a sable I can only say ferrets are great.
This is the best video which shows just what ferrets are like...well done!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a ferret for 2 years and we are happy together. He is the best friend in the world and the good mood is provided.
Thanks for the information on Ferrets. Never knew they slept so much.Great video!
Aw. This made me miss my four ferrets so much! They all passed away, two from cancer, one from a tragic fall, and one from old age...You missed something that they do best though...steal things. Mine were excellent thieves. I love the bit where one of yours takes the iPod! Good for him!
For such an animatronic ferret i am. i approve
I love the "death roll" that they do to shake the other one loose when they get ahold of the scruff.
I have to say my ferrets like to dance like this. This is so cute. I love ferrets.
You captured the essence of furbabies.
Aww, certainly makes us miss our girls. Great job, made our "Tickle Paw Tuesday" list. Thank you for sharing.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! its a reaally good description about ferrets! just like my 6
I loveeee your back yard or wherever that is.
Absolutely beautiful ferrets too!
Love those couches (and the ferrets)!
fun to watch! you can see they are well kept and happy!
best ferret video on youtube...nicely done, and your ferrets are awesome...
Ferrets are seriously the funniest animals ever. I went to my friends house and met his two ferrets, they were adorable.
I've watched this befor, and I will watch it again.
