- While still operating some flights as US Airways, American has begun to paint US Airways aircraft in the new American Airlines livery. Watch the transformation as this Airbus A319 gets its new look.
US Airways is alive and kicking underneath all that AA paint. Who do you think is running the Airline now. It's not AA management.
Kenneth Ayers they removed all the paint unfortunately
Notice the N number looks like it was an America West plane also.
Hmm that explains why all the bad customer service reviews are coming after the us airways merger
Anakin Skywalker hi
@@lancetheman28 there are paint jobs 1 is America west 2 us airways 3 American airlines 4 twa pa am
Painting an excellent livery away; I hope US Airways/American at least leaves a few in the US Airways Livery!
you got your wish. the US Airways legacy livery
They are painting some new planes in “retro” livery so it’s the “next best thing”. They’re even doing America West and others!
Errin they have had them.
The US airways looks so plain and boring.
Need a USAIR livery
Its a sad sad day. Bye, US Airways
Ben Jowett when did they merge?! Am I missing something? Or am I just "plane" old stupid. (Pun intended)
JoeyLovesTrains US Airways merged 1 year ago
US airways made miracles happen
R.i.p. US Airways! Let's all not forget about true hero Chesley Sullenberger who saved 155 poeple in 2009 from death.
They should stayed there own company with that history on the hudson river omg but still it was a good merger
Ahhh the memories. I once worked on the paint crew at Eastern Airlines in Miami. Love the new AA schematic.
WHY, WHY. WE WILL ALWAYS Remember What Happened Flight 1549. R.I.P US AIRWAYS
Nothing beats the previous iconic polished silver with the red, white & blue striped AA livery of the 80's - early 2000's
true, but they unfortunately just don't work with modern planes because they are pretty composite-heavy
Will your 757's be repainted into your new livery? Thanks.
i dont think the 757s will be. american is starting to retire them because they are getting old
Sargenator99 Some of them will be around another five years and will almost certainly get AA livery once the 767s are all painted.
Jason Bogard Yes I've read that 757's with international routes will receive the new livery, though domestic aircraft will not. Whether or not that is the case, we will see.
Jamlidd Manchester Airport I agree, that's what I've heard and speculated too. Most 757s with 16 in-front vs 22/24 in-front will get the new paint job sooner or later. Don't think we'll see any domestic 757s with the new paint job.
You’re welcome
Awesome I love these Airplane repainting video , also it would be cool to see videos for every Airplane in the fleet repainted .
R.I.P US Airways (1939-2015) Allways the Best airlines
I love how clean the white looks next to the red
Guys, I don’t know what the big fuss is about. There’s still two a320s rocking the US Airways livery. Go spot them sometime.
N106US, US Airways 1549
Samuel Joseph Chen Yucong Isn’t that the airplane that went into the Hudson River?
DAVID RODRIGUEZ affirmative. There’s also the AA/US Airways Heritage a321
@@DRC319 yes

Thanks to American, my favorite airline is.......GONE
Gwyn Heriford Thanks to USAir, my favorite airline was... GONE in 2005.
Oh
Gwyn Heriford Thanks to American, my favorite airline was gone in 2001.
Oh
Gwyn Heriford Here is the awkward story....
Bascially, American Airlines went bankrupt, and US Airways bought American Airlines. Because more Americans know the name 'American Airlines', the US Air buyers decided to call the new, combined company by that name. However, the management of the NEW American Airlines is made up of mostly US Airways employees.
BRING US AIRWAYS BACK!!!
It wont it is already acuired by AA. So American Airlines cannot bring US Airways Back.
There is a plane still having the US Airways Livery
We cannot bring US airways back
I’ll get you banned from UA-cam for wanting an airline to return.
I’m UA-cam premium😎
I loved U.S. Airways =( It had beautiful colors, and it was one of my favorites!
I will NEVER fly American Airlines again,
And I urge all who read this to also avoid this airline.
Us airways may have retired, they may not have a website or check in counters anymore but their planes are still running. One time I got on an Airbus a321 with the American livery I expected to be on a new plane but when I got on it was the old us airways interior so we can't say that us airways don't exist anymore because they are still flying even though they don't do their marketing anymore.
I also did, i went from California to Phoenix and the a321 had american colors but it was us airways inside
Anita Ganzalez there's an a321 in us airways colors with an American logo painted small outside . saw it in Boston on Friday

Woman: Men don’t know what it’s like to be under attacked
Me: *shows video*
Woman: Oh never mind
So cool, I did this in the southeast some years back and just loved this job. 727, DC 9, DC 10 and a little on 747.
which airline?
@@hootybum I worked for Strom Aviation Lake City Fl, McDonnell Douglas Santa Barbara Ca and Air Mate Mobile Al.
Nothing quite like that tail design. Love it!!
Imagine the AAL new livery but instead of gray, dark blue!! Oh that would be so cool
The stripping process is interesting here, it appears that no chemical stripper was sprayed on. Looks like they sanded the paint completely off the old fashioned way and sanded it to the bare metal before pressure washing. Also at 0:23 you can see the old America West titles.
That's funny. America West -> US Airways -> American Airlines. It's like the food chain.
Still has a AWest tail number
Yeah, DBP doesn't strip sometimes either, it depends on customer request, which is usually based off the material of the body and the amount of paint layers already on the plane.
Interestingly the msn is 1111.
Am I the only one who loves the new American paint , and doesn't care for the grey striped livery
US Airways livery is the most beautiful A320 livery ever in my opinion.
its the A319 though.
The name may be American....but underneath we are US Airways. Happy there is at least one airbus painted with US colors
Jason Christopher Gamban yep #N578UW
Interesting thing about the old US Airways livery, it looks a little similar to the British Airways livery as both airlines used the red, white and blue colour scheme and the underbody being painted deep blue. Anyways cool watching this video seeing how an aircraft paint job is done! :)
This looks like an A319 that used to belong to America West Airlines before that merged with US Airways in 2006, due to it being registered N---AW (the AW meaning America West).
Correct that was a former America West A319. Good ole Cactus.
I'm from England however i have flown on us airways twice and i have to say it was rather enjoyable
I just got hired for a fleet service clerk. Can't wait to start at MIA!!!! GO AMERICAN AIRLINES!!!!!
Steve Nugget

People that like US Airways more and miss it 😢

Us airways was the best airline
No continental was better
@@cancelanime1507 lmao continental was always trash
I wrote this 3 years ago, wow time goes fast
Continental was a pretty good airline i flew on a continental 757 back in 2009
Very nice! I love this new american livery.... It has now the biggest fleet in the world ! :)
Worst merger I have ever been through. Sick and tired of hearing about it. After 30 years I never thought id have to retire under that name. Horrible! Screw American (New or Old)
You are screwing US Airways then. It bought AA but decided to keep the AA name.
KB2CWN LOL
You flew for US Airways, sir? I don't mind American as a passenger, although now that I'm saying that can't even recall if I've flown on them. I *did* like the look of their metallic livery they used I think starting around the mid 70's or so. US Airways was about my fav airline. You had a hub of sorts here in Connecticut at KBDL , too.
They pretty much have the same name
You know that there practically the same airlines, right?
Love the new paint job but, US Airways will stay in my heart forever!!
The livery draftsmanship is neat. I wanna see it up close.
American airlines is actually much better and more organized than U.S. Airways. doesn't look as hideous as nearly everyone in the comments is saying. i like it.
Phew! Thank god! That US Airways livery makes me want to claw my eyes out!
I love it OneWorld rules! American Airlines is the best
Clever idea to time-lapse the paintjob! Neat!
I kind of miss the old livery with the red, white and blue stripes on the sides and the double A on the fins, but I can get used to the new livery, it doesn't look too bad at all.
Yea the old one was too edgy tbh. They only keep it on there 737s i think
American Airlines is still using the old livery? I thought they were using the new livery on all of their planes nowadays.
Love that new livery, saw a 777 in it at the airport and it really stood out among all the other aircrafts.
that airport is covered with old 747's,dc-10's, and a lot of md-80's
@@vizio2003 not anymore they all gone
@@ostiawey a good amount are still there. There’s like 2 747s, a decent md-80s and one dc-10 that’ll prolly never leave 😂. There are a lot of “newer” things sitting there
@@vizio2003 you replied after 6 years what a chad
It looks great with the new AA Livery
Cool! And I do like American Airlines new livery. Classy.
Really miss the US Airways livery but I think the American looks really nice
The music makes this airplane go away and it gives me the tears.
Thank you, American Airlines. It was an honor with your airlines and I think you had a great decision with Us Airways.
We remember the history of US Airways and we believe in the future.
#RIPUsAirways We will never forget you
Harvie Richards US Airways actually was the one who bought American Airlines. American Airlines filed bankruptcy and US Airways approached them. However, US Airways switched themselves to American Airlines as a name. Most of the current staff in AA are US Airways staff.
1939-2015 what a ride
The song is Golden by Andrew Jackson & Jeremy Abbott & Louise Dowd! I finally found it!
This new livery is everywhere. And when I mean everywhere I MEAN everywhere. At JFK almost the full fleet is in the new livery. Only 757s and a few 737s are in the old livery. Awesome
I use to have nice and quick flights with US airways, American Airlines has always been bad in service (in my own experience)
Man I remember when I went into US Airways back during winter break 2012-2013, when I went to North Carolina for vacation.
NO!!
I love the new look...
Nice time laps of US Airways Air Bus getting rebanded to American Airlines.
Even though I never flown at all, it is still sad to see people's favorite airline USAirways go away....
_Farewell USAirways..._
Why oh Why did you all paint the US Airways Legacy aircraft (PSA, US Airways, America West, Piedmont) into the standard American Livery?
kids called N578UW, N579UW, N580UW, N581UW and N582UW:
@@trainguy1045realyeah cool, just looked at the pics. Now I need the 1:400 model makers to have them in their collections'
i gotta admit, us airways was much better.
jaden jokes that is true
It’s livery is better but I think American Airlines is better
US Airways was one of the worst worse than spirit.
Is there an official name for the livery diagram shown at 0:10? I'd love to see some from different airlines.
Coover sexy paint airplane thingy
For all those who still think US Airways is gone, This was when American Airlines was nearly filing for bankruptcy. US Airways bought American Airlines. They decided to keep the American Airlines name since most Americans are more familiar of it. In the AA Management, most of them are US Airways employees anyway.
Ohhhhh. So there re painting it from us airways to American Airlines Shiny and brand new baby!!!!
How long did it take to renew it?
Rich MLG pro gamer. 21 probably 20 days or about a week
Another era passes. I was flying Birmingham-Pittsburgh on a DC-9-30 the very morning that Allegheny became USAir. The company, though the name has changed a little, has been through so much more, ever since.
This song makes me happy
plush video studios makes me sad
UmbreonErick you know there is some planes in the fleet that still this airways livery just a little different
You know model companies like Revell and Airfix, well this is a life size version of this
that
+xboxgamer and the old AA livery is better
+xboxgamer ikr
The most beautiul livery in the world. I must say. Clean. But i miss the old clear-silver though.
Greetings from Sweden.
I loved the look of us airways
I flew US Airways several times and absolutely HATED them. I guess I am in the minority here...
this is not the first complete fleet change this aircraft has endured. The registration is N809AW. This is former America West!
Wow that’s amazing
Turning US Airways A319 to American Airlines A319 but completely not an oasis
Shame such an amazing US Airways livery was covered up by this disgraceful american color.
Lol put your emotions in the locker my friend.
The AA livery looks amazing.
One of the best out there together with the majestic blue KLM fleet.
VeniVidiAjax
Jesus kom jou overal maar dan ook echt overal tegen... Je hebt wel gelijk trouwens!
Traveler it actually looks pretty snazzy
This is why AA is in TheDesignAir's top 10 of best liveries!
We all remember that day with US Airways in 2009
How long would it take to make a plane
love the new clean modern look
Would never think American would operate Airbus after the A300. It's a shame US Airways will loose its livery to the horrid new look of American livery. I wouldn't mind if it were the pre 2013 chrome livery.
What will American Airlines do with N742PS (Pacific Southwest Airways livery), N744P (Piedmont livery) and N745VJ (Allegheny livery)? Will they still have their color schemes or will they be repainted in the new American Airlines livery?
Be painted in the aa livery, such a shame...
What about the special state liveries (Arizona, Nevada...) and America west one?
I imagine that American Airlines will keep the two America West heritage aircraft painted the way they are.
One question where was the plane repainted
right down to the bare chinesium !
I can;t believe it !
Great new look
Perfect looking livery turned into awful one...
You have really dated tastes.
myNEONCITY Everyone has different opinion and taste. ;)
Happy New Year!
.:AirbusFan:. Not really
True Gamer191x1 Of course people have different tastes. I own a 7c and 5c mouthpiece for my Trumpet. Many people play a 3c but I prefer a 5c.
.:AirbusFan:. More like awful looking livery turned into perfect one
That's at least the third different livery that plane has worn. The AW tail number indicates that it was originally an America West plane.
Love the Boeing paint numbers being used on an airbus plane.
RIP us airways 😢🇺🇸🛩️
Sweet video i love the new American
R u CRAZY????? THIS IS HOW TO DESTROY AN AIRLINE IN UNDER 2 MINS!
LeMonde Airlines More like You need to shut up!
Me too, but I also love the silver planes the best and AA should keep some of them so air travelers all across the country can remember them. All airlines across North America should fly MORE Boeing's than Airbuses because Boeing is a North American aircraft manufacturer and is headquartered in Chicago and Airbus is a European aircraft manufacturer and is headquartered in Leiden, Netherlands.
I think I'm gonna cry, that looks to beautiful
I will NEVER fly American Airlines again,
And I urge all who read this to also avoid this airline.
The us airways livery looks better then all the airlines in the us
This makes me cry.
*RIP* #N809AW
Type: *'F'* To *Pay Respects*

Looks great!
Fun fact: US Airways actually bought American Airlines, but took the American name since it was better know world wide
Was this aircraft repainted in Roswell NM?
yes it was
Love Airlines!!!! Cant wait to fly
No matter how nice the paint job you can never hide the ugliness of the Airbus beneath it.
+Max W I beg to differ, US colours made the airbus's look really good, American the Boeings and Mad Dogs.
+Max W Quit hatin'! I've learned to like the Airbuses we have! They are as much a part of the airline as the Boeings and others!
yeah xd
Airbus aircraft have a special type of primer underneath the paint so yeah it is not the prettiest look when the existing paint is removed.
Max W this made me laugh
Hey if I drive my Ford in their, you think you could give it a couple coats while you’re spraying one of those birds?
Everyone who loves and misses us airways give a like 👍
Man I loved us airways. I’ll always love it
At the end I couldn’t even recongonize that was the us airways plane
That's an old America West 320! I hope more Cactus planes will still be flying!
Ah, 319. I wonder if any of the Cactus 737-300s will be painted in AA colors...
I also realized shortly after I said that, the old America West 737-300s have been long phased out. I do hope N901AW, the old Arizona livery plane stays flying for a long time!
