Love to see even the MD-11s still getting love!
The MD-11 definitely deserves it!
MD-11, Mr. Bouncy. I love them too, especially watching them bounce on landing (every MD-11 will bounce on landing because of design). I always loved trijets like the 727 and DC-10 as a kid, the MD-11 was the last hoorah for them and is still being used as cargo luckily so we can still see them. Unfortunately they are being replaced more and more every year, they will soon be gone.
The same company that bought lots of 747-8s they do be respecting them services
@@shapman280 I heard Boeing is shutting down production of the 747-8F's for good, the 747 will no longer be produced pretty soon. They are losing money for each one built, so even though cargo companies are begging for them, they are sadly going extinct.
They are Lockheed L-1011s.
The MD-11s had all 3 engines on the rear, didn't they?
Or am i getting my planes mixed up?
It’s eerie to take off the paint and see reminders of its previous life.

Um, passenger service?
Explains the windows
@@paddydu5113 yes it came from SwissAir back in 91 they had it then Air Namibia then to UPS
Old bird got a face lift! Here to many more years for the BIG DOG!
ua-cam.com/video/BCu5xYBpquI/v-deo.html
Wait so is it a dog or a bird
@@bigb7965 both a bird dog of sorts
100%!!!!! md-11s for life!
@@bigb7965 🤣
Bless you all at UPS for delivering during these strained times.
Beautiful bird. The MD11 is just amazing
The MD-11/DC-10 is still one of the prettiest planes, sad that they're a dying breed at this point.
It's not one of the prettiest work on mechanic.,
The mistake of DC-10/MD-11 was the third engine.
Being a two engine aircraft could give a different history for this airframe.
@@antoniodavirbrito uhm, when it was designed ETOPS was still in effect ( twin engine aircraft banned from crossing Atlantic)
Hey! stop arguing We Know Plane can fly
Dc-10 is the fastest fuelling plane I ever worked on. It took fuel at 3000 Litres a minute. Pilots usually took fuel evenly between all three tanks
MD-11 looking sharp. Great job UPS and keep those birds flying as long as possible.
To be absolutely specific, it’s in Pipe Creek Township, at Grissom Air Reserve base. It’s great that you acknowledge the companies that to this amazing work. Especially one with as interesting a story as a $140,000 per year Ma and Pop company, to a lady bringing it up to a $30,000,000 dollar company. Great job to UPS, Mrs. Baldwin, and the employees thereof.
I live 20 miles east of this place and never knew they did this work.
lol I was wondering where they would fly that big bird into for repaints since peru really doesnt have a airfield
Thank you for clarifying where at in peru..I live in ks but am very familiar with grissom and peru as I have close family north of Peru and have been traveling there for many years.
The one person to dislike this video is an Airbus person. Poor old chap. Great to still see the MD-11 still flying.
Im a airbus person and i love this aircraft...
And the A380 dying already 🤣
@@v31.48 unlike the MD11/DC10 the airbus A380 was designed to be a exclusively passenger aircraft it is basically useless as a cargo plane
Great to see an MD11 getting a fresh coat of paint. Hope they stay in our skies for years to come
@bobagopaaa you think that freighters are going to use the 787? LOL
@bobagopaaa you’re having a laugh 😂
bobagopaaa whattttt😂
@bobagopaaa how are they dangerous lol
Don’t understand tho switch to 787s or 777s they can hold more and are more fuel efficient and are more safe
So nice to see this classic being treated with love and new paint
long live the tri-jets!!!!
My favorite wide-body jet md-11... awesome airplane
MD-11 é perfeito ❤️
Muitos anos de vida pra ele! Parabéns a UPS por mantê-los em sua frota.
That's one of my favorite planes, love it.
I always enjoy these types of videos. Fun watching experts do their thing.........thank u for uploading it.
Ahh yess, the MD-11, my favorite bird :D
Beautiful paint job!
MD-11 will always stay in my heart.
Nice to see a brown tail look clean
That paint job looks freakin awesome
MD-11 is a fantastic looking aircraft.
Nice job done there.Excellent.Long live the MD-11❤😎👍!
I've painted a couple of triples and I can tell you, its bloody hard work. Hot, sweaty, my right arm ached and you have to wear a breathing apparatus with full body paper overalls. Still, it was a good experience.
Well, that process is therapeutic for us watching and the results look amazing! Thank you guys for your hard work 👍🏼
What a beautiful plane!!!!
We really love the MD11 and you UPS for loving it too!
A beautiful aircraft.I am blessed to see UPS MD-11s flying over our area almost daily.
I wish they sent them here, they only do A300's, 757 and 767
I see every plane in the United Airlines fleet and the UPS coming into mine for maintenance , but for about a year all I saw was the the banana planes (spirit airlines $
Md-11/Dc-10 were remarkable aircraft. They have served the Cargo industry well.
MD11 still lives😍
Cargo carriers generally buy aircraft that have been retired from passenger service because they are cheap and cargo planes typically fly short distances between hubs so maintaining the older planes is not a big issue. Apart from practical purposes, I'm just glad that classic former airliners such as the MD-11 and DC-10 have found another place in the sky despite their obsolescence.
So glad to see the old lady flown and taken care of still. Always a fav
SDF is one of the few airports in the world where you can still see DC-10/MD-11s on a regular basis. I think all of the passenger versions have been retired.
MD-11’s only at SDF. Memphis you can see the MD-10’s and 11’s.
Yeah, Sdf is a great place to spot. Tons and tons and tons of trijets, also 767's are pretty common as well. The occasional a300 which is always a great plane to see. Before I went plane spotting I thought living in Louisville was the most boring thing ever.
@@edwardlandreth2959 we had a dc10 in KMHT about a week ago
I see MD11 and and 727 coming in for maintenance at my local airport twice a week(KLCQ
MD - 11 шикарный самолет, обожаю эту машину!!!
И благодаря ребятам из таких компаний как UPS эти машины до сих пор в строю а не порезанные на металл.
Круто!
Even though it’s old, UPS needs it.
Solid work horse 💙
Bruh desperate
They’re cheap and reliable
Freighters are always old.
What a max !! Just wonderful!! Completely professional thing !! And this plane is beautiful !! The colors were perfect and harmonious.
Love the MD-11 😍
I love MD11!
Make that old bird looking new like this thing beautiful~~~
Very beautiful !!! I liked a lot !!
Love how country's like Peru and India paint these awesome aircrafts. USA loves India and Peru. 🇺🇸
Grissom Air Reserve base if that helps narrow it down a bit... call sign GUS
That's real skill and artistry.
The MD11 what a beautiful old bird.
As a corporate fleet Appearance Manager (aircraft detailer) this floats my boat! 😍😘
Super satisfying
ah i love to see some old planes!
*May the Mad Dod fly high in the skies for years to come.*
That's the md88 bro
MD-11 is the big dog, I call the md80 the chihuahua because it’s name is mad dog, and it is small
Love that livery, great to see a beautiful fresh shine
Since they paint there, it’s in Peru, Indiana, and the Air Force closed Grissom AFB, and that base was used as a staging base for the refueling of the planes. And they have the hangars to paint big acft. Glad to see the old base has some useful hangars. Great vlog, great story, thanks for posting!
We can only paint up to a 747.
Sweet just fueled one of these yesterday, 12,000 gallons 😂
Jake Plays Bet that took a while haha
CrashForce you thought the pumps at flying J were fast, those trucks pump fast AF.
Only 35 minutes to dump the first 9500 gallons(10k truck) and then the rest probably 10 minutes tops
@@jaysmith1408 yeah I can imagine..
@@jakesnussbuster3565 Very cool. Do you guys have to move around to fill up the different fuel tanks on the aircraft (e.g. wings, central main tank)?
The most beautiful painting in the world
This paint at the end makes it look brand new and also can tell it a converted freighter from passenger.
Who says you can’t polish a turd? Hahaha
Just kidding. I love the MD11. The amount of overtime it takes to keep them flying is going to pay for my kids’ college.
She rebounded 😍 beautiful airplane ✈️
Greetings from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦😊🤗
Ok, now I'm ready to do mine!
Thanks to this video I fell even more in love with this plane
Beautiful!
Beautiful job!
I love UPS trucks & planes 🤎🤎🤎
I used to love going to the paint shack in Long Beach and watch the Swiss Air birds get painted. MD 11s are bad assed birds. I was an avionics tech for Douglas. Talk about power, those big GEs or P and Ws put it out.
It's so pleasing to watch
Just the class !!! 👍👍👍👍
What do you know? This plane came up from Ontario to Seattle just this morning. It was part of Swiss Air fleet before the conversion.
I miss the days of traveling on a tri-jet. MD11's and L1011's were my favorite!
Beautiful MD-11 and so nice to see its getting some TLC
Beautiful Livery UPS.
Beautiful Lady being painted. My Favorite MD-10. Oops, I mean MD-11. Very nice paint job too.
Beautiful bird. Hope it will come to Cologne soon
I live 20 minutes from Peru, Indiana I gotta go someday.
Grissom Joint AIr Reserve Base. The old planes at the museum are good to see.
Oh definitely especially when they have the car show there every year. Last one was August 1st of 2020. They have really neat cars there posing with the old aircraft pretty neat.
Qué trabajo tan impresionante!! 👍🏼
Classic Airline... Nice to see her.. !!
Looks great! Beautiful plane and great paint to match.
I didn't know aircraft like this got painted in Peru. I live 40 minutes from there 😲
Why was this so satisfying to watch?
Wonderful wonderful wunderfulllll I love MD 11

Love MD 11 🇧🇷 Cuiabá aeroporto marechal Rondon internacional Brasil
So shiny and beautiful
I worked on MD11F and 747F all I can say is WOW!! 🤟🇺🇸
MD11 my Favorit. I work many Year on it
“Environmentally Friendly” LMFAO
When I still did autobody work 10 years ago. The epa mandated all paint be environmentally friendly by 2010 or so. It was way better then the oil based stuff, with a lot less oder. I don't know what the system is now, but it way better then when I left.
Nothing friendly about that paint stripper
"Environmentally friendly" while still flying a trijet LMAO
I'm Very Glad That MD11 Still Alive And Seen In 2021😁😁
Holy thats repainted! Looks good, I mean it looks so nice and neat.
Man I love the MD-11
I used to sand them down when we had leading edge open in my city..miss it
They look amazing without windows.
Now imagine waxing and clay barring this entire plane
sure if they pay me $30/h other wise HELL NO it would drive me insane but if there's money involve i can keep my self sane by thing about all the upgrades i could do to my Land Cruiser with that money.
you real think that do that lol It's special paint not required.
Jr Gt yeah they probably have other ways of keeping it clean, I know on smaller privately owned planes they get polished sometimes
I mean, Air Force personnel hand wax both jets used for Air Force One, that’s why they looks so immaculate every time we see them
Pra mim é o avião mais bonito que já fizeram!
Nice coat of clear at the end
The UA-cam algorithm has a pretty good sense of humor 😄😄
I Live In Roswell New Mexico.
Actually Worked For Dean Baldwin.

The Artist Drake Gets His Planes Painted Here;)
Beautiful colour design aircraft
Sweet Paint Work!!!
0:26 So the passenger doors are welded & sealed tight so it's no longer openable?
Yep. It's a cargo aircraft
Crew access through some
Hey I have seen you somewhere in KSP
Not welded, just made to be unusable....
The plane was converted to a cargo format meaning installing in access door for freight containers installing a rolling system to remove containers..
Painting a plane looks like it would be fun to do
thats amazing technology
what a cool Aircraft!
beautiful
No wonder so many jobs are getting outsourced. Those guys work fast.
Let me paint a cool "Worldwide Services" in a hip hop font for you.
that would be sick!
