As beautiful and reminiscent as his daughter’s voice is, even she does not reach the stratospheric excellence as her father, who effortlessly achieved vocal perfection. As I stated previously, as beautiful and reminiscent as her voice is, even she does come close to the vocal perfection of her famous father. There is no one past or present who can touch the sheer beauty of that man’s voice. I’ve listened to his songs for 50+ yrs. There is no comparison. Luther, Curtis Mayfield, George Benson, Teddy Pendergrass, Frankie Beverly… all phenomenal. But there has not been a man or woman born who can match or exceed the genius of Mr Donny Hathaway. Period.
