  • Join me as I take a walk thru my evolving Secret Garden area. I'm finding success at gardening at a slower more thoughtful pace these days! I want to encourage you to try it too! As a lover of the old, the rustic, and the "story" of things I am finding that slowing down my gardening process and expectations has allowed me to garden "at my own pace" and enjoy my gardens even more!!! At times we put so much pressure on ourselves regarding our gardens, making and keeping them "Perfect" that we start to feel like we are failing and give up! Well I'm here to start encouraging you to do what you can, when you can and enjoy the process (messy or not!). Follow along with me as I do a little here, a little there in my gardens this year! We will get there at our own pace my friends....

Hello Lynn! Thank you for the update on your garden. I do not have a green thumb at all; so I greatly admire those who do! I rescued a fledgling cardinal last week. I was able to pick it up and put it safely back where it needed to go. The fledgling was so soft and light. One of God’s beautiful creatures. Take care and be blessed. Your friend, Diane.😊

Hi Diane!! I loved hearing your Cardinal story! Funny thing happened to me yesterday that fits right along with it..... I was out under our ash tree watering the lawn and something fell onto my back! I thought it was a mama cardinal because she has been taking her "baby" out lately to learn to fly and hunt! Well turned out it WAS the baby, it had fallen out of the tree and into my hair!!!! It didn't move but I could feel there was something there so not knowing what it was I shook my hair and it came out into the grass in front of me!!!! It was the baby cardinal! I took a pic and took a very quick video but then when I went to switch to landscape mode it had left.....I am sure it answered the call of the mama and scurried along! LOL They are completely adoraable aren't they! Very beautiful indeed! I hope you have a wonderful and beautiful weekend my friend! Thanks for all your support and kind words as always, Lynn

“Patriot” is darker green in the center with light/ white edges. The garden looks nice. Enjoy cultivating; definitely part of the joy of a garden 🙏😊

I remember you sharing your secret garden last year when you started it. It will always be a “work in progress” and you have a wonderful space to work in. I’m sure it will grow more and more beautiful!

Hi Kathleen! You are so right! It's definitely always a work in progress!! I finally made it back to the fence! Now to get that tamed and reclaim some space for a path back there, lol I have so many finds I want to turn into the decor in the gardens. I appreciate all your kind words! It sure made me feel happy to hear them! I hope you have a great upcoming weekend!! -Lynn

Very pretty. I love the rain chain. I have wanted one of those for a long time. My husband isn’t too wild about putting one on the porch edge because of drainage, but maybe doing one away from the house like yours would work! I just love natural, cottage style gardens. 😊

Hi Deborah!! I totally understand! I have wanted a rain chain for a long time too. I finally found one but just like yours I knew my husband was going to say no to it hanging from the house, lol. I just waited until the trees back there got tall enough and hung it up there. I do like how it looks back there. Now to get some more decor and plants in there, lol I thought about putting some sort of "water catching container" under it but need to think more on it. Thanks so much for again being so kind! I love hearing your feedback! We think a lot alike my friend! Hope you have a great evening! -Lynn

It can be so pretty in some places and a little bit much in others, I agree! I'm trying to keep it contained here, I love the bright color..... but worry at times of it taking over like you said happened to you! Have a great weekend!
