Thanks for watching..
Usually I'm not a big chronographs fan, but these three look really well done and very attractive. Sinn always delivers great value for money. Sooner or later I would like to add one to my collection.
Sinn is one of the few brands that I could pick three of their watches and have a complete collection that I would most likely be very satisfied with and Thanks for sharing as always my friend Be well and God Bless 👍
They’re all beautiful. I must say that the boar leather straps look incredible.
Love my Sinn 903 and 104!! These look great!!
nice watches with great proportions
My 103 sa be... is my all time fave...perfect in every way
The second I saw the video I liked... the limited edition. Of course, that is your favorite too.
Great review Pete.
Have a great day.
You know me too well..hahaha
I am heading up next week for a few days of holiday. I will drop in to say hi, whilst indulging my passion for watches! 🙂
I dropped in on Define Watches and Peter and Lydia were very welcoming. Their shop has many beautiful and well selected watches. I will be back!
I love my 856. Tagmented steel case. Great size. Also love my 356. Great brand. Great videos Peter!
Thanks David
Another high quality review Pete. Decision, decision, the white one for me
😊
All three are stunning. I'd settle for the LE one and the white one 😂
Sinn watches have to be handled they so nice in real life! The engineering, especially of the cases are gorgeous. Great video thanks.
Sinn is my overall favorite brand and these chrono's look fantastic.
Excellent release from Sinn. My overall favorite brand.
love the panda dial... way to thick for this size.
I think they have a sapphire crystal option
Sinn SpezialUhren showing big Swiss brands how a good looking sports chronograph is done.
Love Sinn used to own a 356 with acrylic and sapphire case back. The panda is my favourite but would’ve liked to see a sapphire caseback.
I still haven't sin for any analog chrono, Sinn or not.... 😋
Thanks for the presentation Pete, but i'll stay loyal to my (crazy?) preferences. Got no chrono for an analog chrono (pun intended!).
Cheers mate, be well. Also, enjoy the summer coming down under! 🙃
It’s a SINN not to have one in my collection Peter!🤭 All 3 are beautiful mate. Yes it would be nice to add one. As for acrylic? Adapt!🥱👍🏼😎
I personally prefer the sapphire version her myself, really nice job
Great watches. I own the 358 in blue since 6 months - love it. 42mm but so wearable on a bracelet. Tough watch with good height b/o the milled glass. Thx for the good review. Get going 🚀
The Fume dial one looks fantasic, thanks for the 😊great video!
Thanks for watching!
I ordered the white panda dial, I understand they should be delivered to the AD in late December or early January. There is an option to order the sapphire crystal for an extra 500 CAD on the non limited pieces which would reduce the height by about 1 mm. Thanks for the review, as always very informative.
Enjoy it when it arrives 👍
Beautiful watches Pete! Love Sinn - AR on the outside of the crystal is kind of a faux pas for a tool watch though 😂
Who wouldn't like a Sinn . Be nice to see reviews of their partner Guinand .
Absolute beauties! I don't mind an acrylic crystal if used in the right way
Beautiful watches, but I am a Sinn fan boy, so I would expect nothing less from them. My pick of the 3 would have to be the limited edition, the applied logo for me just steps it a notch and the satin finish suits this style. As for your pick, I'm going with the white dial variant, I just know you too well brother 😉
Now if I could only sell a kidney or one of my kids to buy one, do you know anyone who wants a slightly used 16 year old boy who doesn't eat much 🤣
Great review as always, a pleasure to watch on a Saturday morning with a coffee.
My pick was the LE version as well bro..👍
These so beautiful! I fell in love at first sight...but this was over pretty quickly when I heard the crystals are just acrylic! Hate that! There are much cheaper watches with sapphire crystals looking just as beautiful.
Somehow I knew Alex wasn't going to like the acrylic..😊😂
My pick would be the LE with that beautiful Sapphire and display case-back
@@PeterKotsa Scary how well you know me, Pete! Excellent choice, it would be my pick as well.
I would naturally normally gravitate towards the limited edition version. It's quite nice with the added details and subtle changes. But, on the other hand, I've always wanted then wish for a white dial version of the 104 with Arabic numerals. Which they still really haven't made, but this is maybe the closest to that with that. Panda dial version, just doesn't have a rotating out of bezel and it's a chronograph also. Also. But, the Arabic numerals on a whiteish Dial color is about as close as I may get right now.
Thank you for this comparison. Subscribed !
Thanks for the sub!
How bad is the thickness? Had a Tudor GMT that was 14.5 and got rid of it.
Dunno, hard to justify one of these (even though they're gorgeous) over a Hanhart. You can get a 39mm 417 ES Flyback chrono for like $3200aud from Define? Even cheaper secondhand. Compared to the Sinn it beats it out on almost all categories to me, except maybe dial looks with that delish brown fume. Sure, the Sinn is a special edition, but it's not *that* special.
Maybe you might like to ask Define to send you a Hanhart to review? They seem like truly lovely watches, and it would be interesting to hear your take if you think there's a reason there's a price delta between the Sinn and the Hanhart
I’ve reviewed Hanharts , just search up my past videos 👍
Exactly. Today watchmaker's standard is to invest to "bending of history marketing" (read heritage), artificially limit production and voila prices justified! The more of those sleights of hand I see the more I appreciate those oldschool independent watchmakers like Hanhart.
Nice look! I noticed that a lot of brands that are offering vintage-inspired watches are using acrylic crystals. The argument is that it’s more vintage-y it seems… is the point to build a vintage-inspired watch to modern specs? Is the cost of box/ top hat sapphire crystals so much higher? I just don’t get it. By the argument used, companies might as well toss a Sea-Gull movement in their watches because it’s the style of movement used during the time period…
I agree 100 %!
Acrylic crystal has a different presentation than mineral or sapphire, it's warmer and you can get more pronounced, vintage domes with it. It's not a cost issue really, if you wanted to put sapphire into the Sinns there'd probably not be a real price difference to the end consumer, it's just a negligible amount compared to the full watch.
Some companies do use the old Venus clones for that reason (and they're cheap) and essentially, most movements are pretty archaic tech these days, it's very incremental advancement. But the essentially: The choice of movement directly effects the working of the watch, so you'd want to choose the best option because a) pride in your own production and b) you don't want to put shoddy movements in to watches if you can help it, and the ST19 could have a better reputation. Conversely, the crystal has no real effect on the working of the watch, it's an aesthetic choice. So if you want to have a pronounced vintage aesthetic, then it just makes sense to use acrylic.
@@Horizontalvertigo Thank you for that explanation! It comes down to aesthetic choice and how it affects the watch’s aesthetic qualities. That makes sense.
The third watch you showed, you said it it looked like a brown dial, but in your video it looks more like a grey dial. Which color do you think its closer to, grey? Or brown?
Anthracite, its in between. It has a greyish look with brown tones in it.
@@PeterKotsa thanks mate! Merry christmas!
cheers you too..@@El-AYE-Ra1s3d
You can't go wrong with a Sinn, ANY SINN, they're all great in their own ways. Besides the leather straps being tough & firm, though. My one strap observation, rather than criticism, is that the outer "Suede" type of leather. Will make them absolute "Stain Magnets"!!! Smart move, shifting to a polished leather strap.
Although with what Sinn's RRP's are? a curved end-link beads of rice or mesh bracelet? Would have been so much more ideal for their look, be it aesthetically differing or not.
Nice watch
The special edition one is the pick of the bunch for me, mega shame that one doesn't come on a bracelet though whereas the other two do.
Wait - so where does this leave the existing 356 lineup? The ones with the sub-dials at 12, 6 and 9?
Beautiful, but man I wish they had a 12 hour subdial at 6 o clock
Nice piece, I still like Farer better but I might get one of these
Hey peter, did the watch straps taper down at all?
only very slightly Daniel, maybe 1 to 2 mm..if that
@@PeterKotsa thanks friend. Hope you have a happy new year!
Sinn is so underrated
I love these chronograph but I wish Sinn went with the handwind movement instead. 15mm thickness is too much for me.
Peter what happened to your musical intro??
I just thought its time for a change..I might revisit the old theme again...
I appreciate Sinn, but on the whole the far majority don't really appeal to me because they lean so toolish. When Sinn go graphic/fun or smart, those have my preference. Actually, these vintage inspired designs are not too bad, but obviously sandblasting isn't a particularly smart finish. The 15mm thickness is definitely a few MMS too much to give it my consideration, even if some is ascribed to the crystal. But the thing that most jumped out to me on these is that I find that the sundials are pushed too far into the margins for me. I can't recall this bothering me so clearly on many other dials in the genre. It must be a proportional thing.
I have the regular 356 acrylic and can attest to the fact that in wearing the thickness feels similar to all my other watches that sit in the 12-13mm area. Crystal ratio to the case. Agree the subdials feel too pushed out here. Prefer how they sit on the three register version.
@@abv1986 thanks for your comment. For me it confirms that it not only looks too thick but also will very likely sit too thickly for me. But it's moot in my case, as it's not one from Sinn I'd prioritise. Still a handsome watch overall, despite the sundials.
+1. That's the deal breaker for me. I have a 358 Anniversary and the subdials are perfectly positioned.
I want these but in 41mm 😂
Hmm that would be nice too 👍
Nice watches but I prefer the Hanhart 417 ES 1954. Perfect on the bund strap
Nice 👍
Very nice look. The 15.6mm thickness is inacceptable for me no matter the look. Mid tier strap, acrylic glass, below the average lume -> 4000/5000 AUD price tag is unjustifiable no matter how much artificialy limited it's production is.
Don’t think I would buy a watch with AR on the outside.
Just remove it with Polywatch. Easy fix.
External AR coating.....
You can get the white one with a sapphire crystal now but it's still 15mm thick. That is absurdly thick. The caseback is also a very pronounced bubble meaning this watch will never sit flush against the wrist. I've had my experiences with thick watches with bubble backs and no thanks, never again. Such a shame as this watch is gorgeous and all other dimensions are perfect.
Bro it's like 20mm thick hahah I'll pass
Love Sinn, but 38x15 ist to bulky imo.
They look cheap!
15mm?! I'm out
exactly
Yeah because you can tell 2 or 3 mm difference when on the list.
@@garyboyle695 yeah you can. thats why its important to some of us
Far too thick for me
Lovely footage! I wish they’d bring back the old 356 utc. That would’ve been a a great addition to the 25th celebration. Heck the power reserve version would’ve been cool too (356 Sa GR).
