    Wow... what a cool experiment, I think I learned 3 things, Nate's Cinema photography is stunning, I loved the editing from Kara, they really detailed every step of the journey and ..... it's their personalities that make this channel. Don't get me wrong this was cool, but man I missed that vocal storytelling that is classic Kara & Nate. Great idea though, really interesting.

    That was a profoundly meditative and immersive experience for me. Thank you for sharing such pure beauty. I always like your regular content, but this was something truly special to watch. I was almost brought to tears a couple times.
    The way you shared the peacefulness of each quiet, mundane task amplified the sense of appreciation and beauty in my own life. I live at home, unable to work, socialize, or exercise due to severe Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), so it can be hard to tap into the beauty of life with so many parts I feel are missing. I also have some pretty bad sensitivities to noise / music, so my life is filled with these quiet moments alone. I try my best to be really present and enjoy each little task, like cutting an onion for a meal, or filling up my glass of water to put beside my bed. This video reminded me of the magic in all those little moments, so I am deeply appreciative of this gentle encouragement.
    I also truly miss nature walks and time in nature, so it was really special to be brought into this world so vividly. Just such a powerful experience for me, really.
    Thank you for this gift.

In todays world even when we’re “alone” we can talk to anyone. So to be with your partner and just enjoy the silence and have your own passing thoughts is beyond peaceful and hard! Monks do a vow of silence after hard times death or over coming a major obstacle and just to find peace again. I think this video was just that ❤️

    I *loved* it. So often in vlogs or even in life, people feel the need to fill silence with noise, talking or music, instead of just listening to life. I teared up when Kara was staring at the firepit alone, she seemed pensive. We do ourselves a huge favor by taking the time to sit quietly so we can "hear" what comes up inside ourselves. Not the chatter about our ToDo lists, or relationships, or anything specific, just the feels. So much therapy in one precious little video, thank you!

      For me it's the opposite. I find it so distracting. I'm not buying the fake story of him sitting and enjoying his coffee when I know he's had to get up every 5 seconds to change those camera angles and retrieve the camera from wherever he left it last time. KNOWING that it's just them makes all these different angled shots completely insane I know they're doing all that work and while I'm impressed it makes the relaxation around the fire and the slow enjoyment of the coffee or even the stroll through the woods feel fake because you know that when you watch them walk by or walk away they then have to double back and go pick up the camera. It doesn't bother me so much when it's a Solo Traveler that kind of has to do that to ever get themselves in the shop but since they're two of them I'd rather just know that they were taking turns with the camera. Lol. I'm not trying to be a hater. I think they're producing A Beautiful film it's just that I'm neurotic and I'm too hyper aware of it

    There are also two teams of marshmallow eaters:

    As someone who listens to ASMR almost every night, this was a really great video. Y'all definitely unlocked a new tingling trigger for me at 2:22 (Breaking Down Camp). Loved the sounds of deflating and rolling the sleeping pads/bags and breaking down the tent (: Excellent video guys! Will definitely listen to this again around sleep time!

  • @OscillatingEthmoid

    I *loved* it. I think without us even recognizing it, a *ton* of what being out in nature is about is in the sounds that are there, and the absence of the ones that aren't. This video showcases that beautifully, was an absolute pleasure to watch, and I think it takes a lot of humility to replace talking about your experience with that insane number of shots you set up to make this so come together so perfectly

    • @OscillatingEthmoid
      @OscillatingEthmoid Рік тому

      I never would have identified as being drawn to ASMR, but you used it for the real sounds of being in nature, not just specific crackly or pop-heavy speech, and other things I think we tend to associate with ASMR.
      Probably Kara's best idea to date, and I don't say this lightly

    One of my favorite videos of yours. The power of silence tells its own tale and is hardly used in social media. I think it's quite effective especially when it has to do with nature. Nature has no words in how it communicates. Just watching you go through the motions told of how you both relate to your surrounding and to one another. It is so in sync. It's all on the senses and how the heart/mind/spirit receives its surrounding. Love it!

    I didn't think I was going to like this, but I did. It really is because of all the perfect camera shots and editing that you did that it was so soothing to watch. The camera work took over for your voices. But all in all, I like the camaraderie that you have and enjoy your personalities, which don't show as much when you are not communicating.

    That WAS weird, Nate! I've watched every single Kara and Nate video and I'm surprised by the positive response to this video. Lately, the videos seem to be more and more focused on production quality and generating new views. I really miss the old times when Kara and Nate simply explored the world together by going to different countries (or even states in the US) instead of embarking on the constant challenges, like living on an island for 48 hours, living on a raft, etc . I am looking forward to their Spain trip - hopefully that will be more like old times. ❤️🌍

    I would LOOOOVE if you made occasional ASMR videos like this - airports, flying, a typical day in the van, walking around your travel destination, even just hanging out in a lounge/cafe/hotel quietly doing planning & email-type work.
