I have seen a lot of tutorials on pfsense. Believe me, your explanation is the best I've seen. It's logical, concise, sequential and NOT patronizing. Also you give your viewer time to absorb your instructions. Thank you very much.
Hi I have a router provided by my ISP its a fibre based, it has 4 ports one is for fibre-optic cable which comes from ISP. Other 2 are LAN ports one is connected to my PC via LAN cable & a telephone port nothing connected to it . Can I configure pfsense on my PC. Also what do I need to do physically on it like which port is required etc..?
1. Install pfsense on your computer's virtualbox. 2. Next, set your virtubox Adaptor 1 as a "Bridge Adaptor" and then select your real pc interface from the name drop-down menu. 3. Access your pfsense firewall and then set WAN port as DHCP mode. After completing the above configuration, pfsense will connect directly to your wifi router using your PC's lan interface.
@@Wirenetwork So bro for this method I don't need an extra physical NIC connected to my PC right? I can directly install pfsense on the VM & start to use it?
hello in the available package the search bottom doesn't show and I have message saying unable to retrieve package information what I should do plz? BY the way I'm working with GNS3.

To access pfsense from the lan interface, you need to install extra NIC ethernet card or USB Lan Interface on your computer.

Two Interface required mandatory....

interface 2 - Bridge Mode - LAN
(Virtualbox)

Configure DNS server and time zone of your pfsense virtual appliance.
Navigate to System/General setup to configure DNS and time zone.
when creating the server certificate, can I use a dynamic dns domain instead?
Yes..
