4 years since YOU made this video you're still helping people. You fixed my window perfectly, followed your steps and just like your video the bolt had come loose and was resting inside the door. THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM OUTBACK AUSTRALIA 😀😍😀
Perfect! Fixed my 2013 Highlander with the exact same issue. Was able to disassemble the door as panel as you accurately instructed. Found the screw in the door as described. Whole job took me less than 1.5 hours! Saved me a ton a money I’m sure.
Thank you I got it done, but I had a big problem with the window connectors, they did not want to come out. I finally put in a flat screwdriver and worked it open. I did not want to destroy the electrical connector, in any way. So far so good.
Very helpful! This was the exact problem with my 2011. The screw on the left had fallen out and the one on the right was already very loose. I added Loctite Blue and screwed them back in. Seeing where to pry and yank was probably the most important thing to learn before going in. Without your video, I'm sure I would've cracked many plastic pieces doing this.
Very good instructions. The first time my window went off track I took it to the dealer…they charged me $500 for a new window….bunch of crooks. This second time I saw your video. Thanks!! ❤
Excellent video. It took about an hour for the drivers side and 30 minutes for the passenger side. Passenger side rear rail bolt was about half unscrewed. Thank you!
Thank you! Great step by step tutorial! Not being able to roll down my window without coming off the track was driving me crazy at the bank drive through!
Thank you so much! I’m so proud of myself lol I thought I would get stuck. It was hard to get the holes to line up but I got it by shimmying the window around. Whole thing took about an hour including having to go back because I had the green and white door lock wires crossed.
Thank you, I have to fix passenger door window on my wife's 2013 highlander this weekend, heard the bolt drop when we closed the door tonight. Now I have confidence. Thanks great video.
Retired mechanic 4 years. This seems a common problem. Happened to me .Great video even after my years mechanicin.Never herts to seek pro help.!! Great job !
Thank you very much - this was very thorough. The only complication I had was that the front and rear edges of the window were also out of their tracks, so it took some trial and error (and some choice words) to get everything set.
Many thanks for the clear instructions. This isn't hard here, but it isn't intuitive either. I wouldn't have been able to find the first screw without your help.
Try doing the steps in the video, and maybe one of the screws is loose or out. Ours did just that, and then finally popped all the way out today. Took door apart and found one screw all the way gone. Replaced it with one I found in my spare parts box, fixed it right up. Did it start to finish in just under an hour.
@ponyotram Did everything you said, worked great! Now my window rolls up slow, almost like it's jammed. Once it is restricted for a little bit the window automatically rolls down again. What is happening?
So the back screw was totally out. I put it back but the window still seems off track. It doesnt line up unless I push it towards the outside. Is this normal? Will it line up once I put the door panel back on?
@@ponyotran2996 Well after loosening both bolts and shifting it around a bit, I finally got it to go on track perfectly, then I tightened the bolts and it was still fine. Hopefully it stays that way for years. Thanks for the great video. Excellent job.
My window makes a rattle noise whem i shut the door. Like if the window is a little loose. If i roll the window down it makes a click noise and shen i shut it, it doesn't make the rattle noise. Only when its halfway up.. any idea what's wrong?
Negative - the bolt is in place, but the green plastic "thing" is broken. Hmmm.... But very useful video for other aspects of the door panel and window. Thanks.
Mr. Tran, great video. My 2011 highlander driver side window works, but it makes loud sound when the glass hits the top. Ehen I roll it down, the glass vibrates once or twice (seems something is knocking the glass). If I close the front door too hard, I can hear the strange sound (looks like the glass hits somewhere and shakes). What problem it could be? Thanks.
Hey ponyo, Thanks for the video, I fixed my glass window but now door is not opening from inside. Both cables are connected fine 100% Door locks OK but inside Handle is not opening up the door. Any idea?
I fixed it, cable was disconnected from the other end which is an actuator. I had to disconnect actuator to connect it back. All good now. Thanks again for your video.
WARNING: Make sure window is in the rubber channels front and back… look inside door not just above. Otherwise it will torque and not close or open properly. Don’t ask me how w know🥴
Thank you Ponyo Tran. very informative. I am a novice for sure but this looks doable. May I suggest showing the tools needed in a frame so us newbies can assemble it before dismantling the door. LOL

Thus guy is really good with his explanation… he has helped so many people who can easily do it on their own
Thank you so much I fix my 2013 toyota highlander he took me 25 minutes. Thank you again.
Excellent video. It took about an hour for the drivers side and 30 minutes for the passenger side. Passenger side rear rail bolt was about half unscrewed. Thank you!
Just used this video. Took about the same amount of time. Thanks a lot man. You’re a lifesaver. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for this. Got my wife’s window fixed in less than 30 minutes.
You saved me some bucks. I was ready to buy a new regulator before I found your video. Thanks!

This absolutely fixed my issue and you’re amazing, thank you so much for this!
Great video. Repair was exactly as shown. Repaired in less than one hour. Prolly saved $250 vs dealer
Thank you very much - this was very thorough. The only complication I had was that the front and rear edges of the window were also out of their tracks, so it took some trial and error (and some choice words) to get everything set.
Thanks a lot! Glad I spotted the issue before it warped something. My wife didn’t think to tell me about it haha.
Bless you. Perfect result and few of your tips very helpful. Anytime I can avoid the dealer I'm happy!
Great video. Spot on with the problem and the solution. Very much appreciate the how to disassemble the door panel including the little tricks.
Lifesaver. Thanks. 2nd time I need your video. The bolt popped out a few years ago as well.
Many thanks for the clear instructions. This isn't hard here, but it isn't intuitive either. I wouldn't have been able to find the first screw without your help.
I like the way you do the work.
Thank you so much for this video, unlike others you show all the steps and tricks which I love. Again thank you very much you rock.
You welcome
Thanks, Ponyo. I fixed my 2008 Highlander following your procedure.
This video was very helpful, thank you for sharing it. It saved me a lot of money , time and trouble. Just in time before rain.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😊
Same problem here in my 140k mile 2012 Thanks for the video!
I have exactly same problem, I will try it myself and thanks for your precious video. God bless.
You welcome sir
Gracias hermano por esto. Thank you brother for this video. You saved me $250 that the mechanic wanted to do the job.
WINNING!!! got it fixed after coming across your video and great instructions. Thank you
Great video. My driver's window slams shut at the top and pushes out the door when it reaches the top. Any suggestions?

What is happening?
@ponyotran
check you glass , see is the glass still in the track
Thank you so much for your time to make this video. Worked flawlessly.. An easy job with your help.
So the back screw was totally out. I put it back but the window still seems off track. It doesnt line up unless I push it towards the outside. Is this normal? Will it line up once I put the door panel back on?
Check and see if the regulator is bend?

Great video! I was able to take apart my door and fix the problem with my window not working right.
Thanks!
how do you get the screw out of the hole on the handle
🗣Thank you, my Brother!!! I was gonna bug the Stealership... I mean Dealership(👀🤔) but I think I'll do this 1 myself!!!
GREAT VIDEO!👍😎🙏
This video is very helpful.
Thank you very much! 5 stars

I'll think the bolt came loose, just open the panel and take a looked inside.
Thanks great instructions!!
Negative - the bolt is in place, but the green plastic "thing" is broken. Hmmm....
But very useful video for other aspects of the door panel and window. Thanks.
Thank You! Went exactly as on the video. One screw off, the other very loose.
You welcome, Glad you got it fix
Finally I made it brother thanks for your video, God blesses.
Thanks for the video !!! You saved me money and time.
Awesome thanks for the help. 👍🍺👍

Sound like the bolt is getting loose inside the door.
@@ponyotran2996 Thanks. Follow your video, saw the bolt is gone, and found it inside the door. Appreciate your help.
Same thing if window falls completely off track.
It didn't break though. Just slid off the way down. Won't come up
Hey ponyo,
Thanks for the video, I fixed my glass window but now door is not opening from inside.
Both cables are connected fine 100%
Door locks OK but inside Handle is not opening up the door.
Any idea?
I fixed it, cable was disconnected from the other end which is an actuator. I had to disconnect actuator to connect it back.
All good now.
Thanks again for your video.

Great video vary helpful...... 👍
At the end: "once you do the top in", yeah easy for you to say lol. I'm still struggling to put it in
Well done - very helpful

You are awesome 👏 thanks!!!
Thank you!
Still won’t go. Doesn’t seem bent
do your window motor making any noise at all? If not than you window motor is bad
why does this happen. happens to me once every 2 years
Just put some lock tread on it than it shouldn't come back out.
👍
Nice video Ponyo Tran. My passenger window still moves up and down. But when it slides up , it will slam shut . Do you have an idea why?
I dont know what you mean slam shut, is the window still in the track? Or is window loose?
It is still on the track. When it goes all the way up , it hits the top frame really hard. I'm afraid it might break or crack.
Sorry never heard anyone complain about this before. I don't think is in the track, because if it was in track, it shouldn't hit hard when going up.
Thanks for the reply, Ponyo Tran.
@@robertsison26
I've had that problem before and it still s of track. I think the regulator is bent.
