Hi Pulkit, Been waiting for so long for this…unfortunately none of the Indian retailers carry it yet…enjoy your purchase, does hifigo take care of the import charges ? If not any idea how much we need to pay…
This was a review sample from the brand bro, I forwarded it to the tour after my review. Hifigo won't take care of the custom charges bro, we need to pay them. The shipping company reaches out to us when custom is billed on the package.
Hi Pulkit, Any idea how to get EQ working when using Apple Music on this? I have tried Apple Music's Equalizer and Poweramp. However, both of them reduce the overall volume drastically.
EQ does that in most devices and apps bro. Try to cut down on frequencies rather than boosting, like for boosting bass try to lower mid and treble areas and so on.
Whats the point of this? Normal thin and light smartphones have better battery life than this even with bright 2k displays, internet, gaming, camera, etc. While this fat chunk struggles to play music for 12 hours with screen off. Its not impressive. DAPs feel like snake oil at best. Even big reviewers like Jays Audio, Gizaudio, Crinacle still use the apple dongle.
Everybody has their own preferences bro. I myself never use my phone for music because i hate getting notifications in between(and i get a lot of whatsapp, messenger, gmail notifications). So I have always preferred getting a separate device for audio purposes. Yes, I appreciate your point of view as well, that Phones provide better UI experience. But just talking about my personal take here.
@@gadgetgenerationspulkit Paying $500-3000 for just a DAP just to avoid notifications still doesn't make sense. A second phone will be much cheaper. Even the Sony Xperia or Asus Rog phones, which have solid 3.5mm jacks btw, will still be cheaper. Yes, if you are super rich then buying gold headphones will also make sense. The audio resonating with the gold will increase the timbre, the tonality, imaging, resolution, soundstage, texture, details, dynamics, refinement, transparency, slam, and so on. Even $5000 cable will increase audio quality. But as an objective reviewer and for normal audiophiles, do such expensive DAPs make sense? Especially for IEMs which are easy to drive right from a phone.
Well, it depends highly on your use case. what is normal audiophiles as per you though haha. For IEMs that are easy to drive, it depends if the IEM or connected transducer will scale with better signal processing? What does a better dap have irrespective of price? IMO they have better quality components on their audio circuitry than a smartphone. So even if your smartphone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and your IEM is easy to drive, even in that case i would recommend a dap because the better quality components tend to process signal better and provide cleaner and refined output. for simple understanding, you can play GTA V on a PC with low-end graphics card and get decent FPS in FHD mode, but now if you want to play in 4K at ultra graphics, you need a better gpu. Like I said in my previous reply, use of DAP is depends highly on yours use case and also preferences. I know of friends who use their smartphones with DAC/AMPs and are very happy with it, I personally prefer using a DAP only. This month only I bought Shanling Overture XM5, and now planning to go for another one as I need two different flavours in my source chains and most of my use case is portable. Lastly, I would only add this, yes better sources even with an IEM that is easy to power can benefit it.
The reason is simple. Sound quality. $20 IEMs won't really benefit from it. But $500 to $1000 IEMs, you get to hear the full potential of your IEM. It is best to try them first then you can appreciate them. The internet is a wild place when it comes to the audiophile hobby, if Jay and Crin were reviewing DAPs they would have a very different opinion on them. A headphone jack of a phone doesn't even come close ( including apple dongle ). More expensive dongles drain battery life really fast. Plus, dangling dongles are inconvenient, can even damage the phones type c port over time.
This is a quality content now, the DAP looks equally appealing, might get one soon
Yeah, this one is a good one for the asking price bro.

Between DX 180 vs Fiio M11 plus ESS which is better and why? Purpose: critical listening to music
Hello bro,
Sorry I have not heard m11 ess long to make a comment.
Although I would personally pick either dx180 or dx260 over m11 ess(personal take)
