There is a tile view option in the Mango software player on the DX180. On the music list there is a gray bar on the left side of the screen that takes up about the middle third of the screen's height. Swipe that to the right and select whether you want it organized by artist, album, etc., and it gives a tiled view. However, the player does not default to this and you have to switch to it every time.
Honestly the fact you can remove the battery without destroying the screen makes it the only dap I would ever consider. Lithium batteries can deteriorate even with very conservative charging and use.
Exacly right. You must never keep them fully charged for longer periods, but you must also never allow them to be fully discharged. This means you need to ping pong between 20 and 80% without being able to use it! And even then, if it gets too hot, it can destroy itself. It's like a baby you can't get rid of.

I've had my DX180 for a little over a week now and it's my first ever DAP I'm 27 yrs old up to now I've just been using portable DAC/AMPS but this thing is fkin awesome 💯 sounds better than anything I've had previously in the last couple of years, Creative G6, Fiio BTR7 and a Fiio Q15 this DX180 sounds way better than all of them 100% hands down it has an absolutely gorgeous sound stage 🔥🥰. Plus it has a sexy af design and a muthafkin REPLACEABLE battery all other DAPs go fk yourselves 🤣.
Great vid. Also found the Mojo2/Hugo2 vids useful and expensive lol. I bought a DX180 to atone for the weak analog output of the Sony NW A306.. How does one get the local player(dx180) to index the music files by artist when using mConnect? I did not encounter this problem with the Sony DAP.
Ibought one recently (Ibasso DX180) online second hand. It has developed as intermittent fault where the sound comes thru. Is ir best to send to Ibasso or can I experct thorough s e rvice from Australian repairer?
i fly across the Pacific, can i use a external battery with this? do any of these work with Roon? no tile display is a deal breaker. wish Denafrips would produce a DAP
Build quality looks shocking, and 100 hours burn in sucks. Got a 20 year plus Sony mp3 player that still works fine, this won't. Not for me, and I hate the volume wheel.
CS chips need burn in. All dacs do. Just a fact. They are devices based on quantum uncertainty. Takes time to average out to the designed spec. It's not a lawn mower. I don't see why this is so hard for some people to understand.

You can power off the player and continue the burn-in after a few days. Or you can just listen and enjoy the music as your player goes through this process. For burn-in to occur a load is required and all that is needed is a set of IEMs or Headphones played at a normal listening volume. The point of burn-in is to help to form the new capacitors and other components'' .
3 reasons: 1) External control of pause/play and previous/next. Can be done easily without looking. 2) Preserve the phone battery. 3) Isolation from the phone tasks such as calls, messages and notifications. Bonus reason: The DAP can be used as a dedicated streamer and digital transport or analog source for a desktop system when out of purse or pocket.

“The only”? HiBy R4 has replaceable battery, just 2 back screws. It’s half the $, too!

You can set the volume to not work when the screen is turned off
Love my DX180. Big improvement over the 170 in responsiveness, usability, and sound.

When you’re in the all music section place your finger in the center of the screen and swipe right you menu should show up then select album.

You are lucky you don’t own the DX300. It has a Frankensteinish knob known as the knobomination. The DAP itself sounds very good though.

Why would anybody buy a DAP? just use your phone with a dongel dac for half 5he price.
