Outstanding video production, from excellent footage! After seeing the gold cup trophy clearly for the first time, I wish there were stills of all of the individual emblems on the H1 site. ... From a long time fan of the Shanes and their 1 liter successes in Region 4.
I was. At the first win for Madison at Madison 1971. Miss Madison Dean Chenowath. Also the two following gold cups at Madison. You would.not believe how small a river town it is.
Was at this race. Too bad Andrew Tate hit that roller after a tremendous race with Jimmy Shane. Great to see the Spirit of Detroit take a well-earned second place in one of the sport's older boats. These Unlimited hydros are the best, most beautiful form of motor sport. To see them run in Madison, Detroit, and San Diego is a thrill beyond description. Car racing can't come close!!!
I'd have called the U1, U6, and the U7 over early....1 minute penalty all! And what's with the strobe light going off on the U6? Winner would be the U12.
@@wahoou101 Shane was probably doing 60MPH from entrance pin to exit pin. U1 just missed judged the start, he wasn't early or flagrantly going under 80MPH ( his strobe did go off for 2-3 seconds, not 38 seconds like Shane's).. U7 looked clean to me..on this video any way.. Shane cheated.
The 80 mph is just dumb in my humble opinion. On top of that, they didn't even have enough strobes for all the teams... I appreciate the effort to make it more entertaining to watch but that was not a good way to do it.

These sailors have balls of steel
TheYiffyStick To be fair they are in the lowest place in the boat so sure whatever it takes doc.
Watch them from the 60s, 70's and 80s, open cockpit. Talk about balls of steel.
So if H1 had called correctly, it would be U7 winner, JMK 2nd, U11 3rd, Shane 4th, and Tate 5th.

6:07 JINX!!!
That's the only way Shane can beat Tate

No DMZ violation....
😁😁😁👏👏💯💯👍
Burt won this race.
Close only counts in horse shoes...This is all about the drivers ability and strategy Shane won and has the trophy to prove it
@@dougburdette2345 Looks like Jimmy is under 80 mph for a whole 30 seconds
