Since we pump on both sides when we are at work. Do you need to pump on the opposite breast the baby feeds on weekends? I hope this makes sense I don’t want my supply to lower if I don’t pump on weekends.

My 5mo baby is sleeping longer at night since 2.5mo. We gave pacifier to extend the sleep. So does it consider as “sleep through the night”?
Anyways, my question is this…. I tried not to pump at night for about 3 weeks. But then my milk supply dropped. I notice that, because my baby has much less wet diaper during the day. Now that I added back that midnight pump. Then his wet diaper became normal. So what should I do?

Any advice on when to pump for night shift workers? I would pump when baby would eat meaning I wouldn’t need to pump during the middle of my shift (when baby was sleepy), but that also means I’d have to wake up multiple times during the day between my shifts to pump or feed. That meant I was only getting 3-4 hrs of total sleep between shifts. I can’t keep going with the lack of sleep between shifts. Should I pump extra on the nights I work?

Great question! It is going to be person specific- do you have a local Lactation consultant you can work with for a 1:1 plan? But in short, yes! I would pump a few times at work in the middle of the night.

What if you started pumping later in your maternity leave and only have 2 weeks left to build a stash... do you recommend pumping more often?

You could pump one more time per day, right after a feeding. I’d recommend the 1st and 2nd feeding of the day. Hope this helps!
