I would totally prefer 1 person in my XL vs multiple all day long, either way you get paid the same.

I have XL car, if they want to pay XL rate for 1 person they can :) same price as if they had 4-5 people. With taking products is fine too, tv was a good 20 mins away, so it was fine but yes if 2 mins then a pain. Worst is 1min trip or 0.4 kilometres had again today.
You are a complainer man. You certainly have a valid point with #1 with regard to people trying to use XL as a moving service, which it is obviously not. However, there is nothing wrong with using it to bring home a large screen tv you just bought. A tv new in a box is clean, and not going to damage your vehicle whatsoever. I did this a few years ago with a friend's assistance after purchasing two 60" tv's on a black Friday at a Target here in LA, and the driver had no problem with us using his vehicle for this purpose. Hell, for the $42 I was charged (I'm assuming he pulled in $25-30 of that) for a 15 minute ride, or 20 minutes including driving to me and a loading and unloading, he shouldn't be bothered by that.
Using Uber XL to transport a bunch of items you are moving, or an obtrusive item like a couch = bad. Using Uber XL to transport a new tv or do grocery shopping = well within a standard use of an XL ride in my opinion.
#2 is even worse. If you do regular Uber X as well, and a single person books XL instead of X, just be happy they decided to pay you more and book the XL man! lol Yes, it sucks as a driver when people want super short rides, particularly if you drove more than 5 minutes to get to them, but at least they didn't do that at the meager X rate on your nicer, bigger vehicle! haha

In my market Uber XL pays the driver more than double the Uber X rate for MILES, but it basically pays the same as Uber X for TIME. That means if you just want a 2 mile ride down the street, but you are going to spend 20 minutes loading and unloading stuff, the driver gets screwed, no matter how careful you are.
What about potential damage to the crap they are stuffing into the car? What about these things hurting riders when there is an accident or a fast stop? We all need to think this stuff through!!! You are complaining about someone complaining by the way!!!

There’s no other Ubers in my town so you pay more for XL with one period. I drive Uber XL and have no problem helping people with stuff. It’s a job of service don’t work for a manufacture if you don’t want to help.
Picked up a guy and his wife and daughter in South Orange County and took him to LAX for an International flight to Asia for a vacation. They crammed a ton of luggage into my Honda Insight and then the guy bragged in detail about how he and his family travels at 90% discount due to his son who is an airline executive. And then he also bragged about how much money he makes in his business that he manages from home. They were in a rush so I saved them time on the trip and had a shortcut to their airport dropoff. And in the end...after loading and unloading his language and listening to an hour of his BS...no tip...not even one penny...

1 year of driving experience is not enough especially during the pandemic, you have to know where you are at, the days of the week, and time. These scenarios affects your over all paid for that day. And the most important thing is, you have to set a goal, let say $250. Now you have to use all your experiences to reach that goal and never take any traffic risk, “No Customer is worth getting a ticket”!!!!

Is Uber XL (that says 6) good space wise for a family of 5 with luggage?
It depends on the vehicle somewhat. For example, many XL drivers drive the Toyota Sienna Hybrid Van and that would be sufficient. Others drive slightly smaller SUV's that would still have enough seatbelts for your 5 and some luggage room but less luggage room compared to the Sienna Van. Regardless, whichever vehicle arrives, 5 people and luggage should fit into any XL vehicle. You can always immediately cancel your driver when they pick up your ride notice because they show their vehicle and just keep cancelling until a driver with a van pops up on your phone as your driver.

I had a couple try and get me to move some dirty-ass, rolled up rugs that were outside. As soon as I saw the dude drag one towards my SUV, I said nope, this isn't Uhaul and those carpets are not going in my vehicle. Byeeeeee! I don't mind some groceries, but rent a f'n rental van people!
