  • Amateur Radio is more than “just a hobby”. It can motivate and steer individuals into certain career paths, stimulate the creation of new companies, and work synergistically with other interests and hobbies. This presentation will follow Roger Palmer, VE7AP through a series of technical evolutions and business experiences that all have a common thread originally based on his interest in amateur radio. It will also document some of the projects which combined his boating interests with amateur radio, including his 1 KW marine mobile HF installation. This presentation was created for a meeting of the Island HF Radio Association in January of 2024. More Information Is available here:

Very nice story. Cory here, Ve7gcc. I am back on the air. Remember your teachings back in the 90's and still very impressed. 73

    Sorry, OM !
But the letter " P ", phonetically is pronounced,
    " Pah - Pah " !
Just as you should understand, the letter " Q " " Quebec " is pronounced
    " Key - Beck " !
Even though Canadians may say it differently ?
    👍😉

Great video... a testimonial to Moore's Law. I had a similar start to ham radio in 1969 with a homebrew transmitter and a Marconi CSR-5 war surplus receiver. I could only afford one crystal, so for my first year I was stuck on 7010 or 21030 LOL. de VE7UBA
