  • The inaugural UC Berkeley Tech Policy Summit brings together world-renowned academics, thought leaders, policymakers, industry pioneers, and innovators to discuss and debate the most pressing issues at the intersection of technology and policy.
At UC Berkeley, we’re dedicated to supporting the responsible development and use of emerging technologies-from groundbreaking work in data privacy and cybersecurity to the development of human-compatible AI systems, pro-social platforms, and multidisciplinary tech policy training.
The Tech Integrity Awards recognize individuals and organizations who embody, encourage, and promote responsible tech innovation and policy. Awards will be announced at the inaugural UC Berkeley Tech Policy Summit on March 7, 2024. Awardees need not be present to win.
Awards will be given to honor achievements and contributions in the following five categories:
    • ACADEMIC RESEARCH: Groundbreaking research, education, and/or thought leadership in tech policy
    • CIVIL SOCIETY: Non-governmental organizations, activists, or social entrepreneurs working to ensure responsible innovation and accountability
    • GOVERNMENT: Public sector entities or individuals working in an official capacity to shape responsible tech policy
    • INDUSTRY: Companies or individuals in the tech industry leading on responsible technology development and governance
    • JOURNALISM: Individual journalists and media organizations that effectively inform, cover, and scrutinize tech policy issues

In all we do, we prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion across each of our research initiatives.
