Feb. 2023: Thank you for the great video showing the tools that are used. I just had HTO on my right leg, 2 weeks ago. In 4 months I will have the left leg done. The doctor (Dr. Amir Jamali in Walnut Creek, CA) performed an open wedge, and had to create an 18mm opening. He filled that space in, using bone pieces from the Iliac Crest on my pelvis, at my right hip. The first 10 days was pretty rough and there was a lot of swelling in the leg. But it's now day 15, the swelling started going away at day 11, and the leg is doing much better, and looking more normal. The leg is now 1"/25cm longer, so I will be 1"/25cm taller when this is all completed.
I'm 59, and still athletic as if I were 20. I am a long distance trail runner and aggressive mountain biker. I've had bowed legs all my life, and last year, x-rays showed that inner areas of my knee joints were probably down to bone-on-bone, do to the bow in my legs. I had stem cell/PRP injections in both knees, and started searching for a surgeon to perform the HTO. I'm so glad I did this.
EDIT: As a follow up to this first post, I grew all of the new bone back in 4 weeks, and completely filled the 18mm(nearly 3/4") wide gap that had been created during surgery. I started driving at 3 weeks, walking at 4 weeks(after seeing the x-rays), and put the crutches away for good, in the middle of week 5. At the start of week 6, I started riding my mountain bike again, and on the same technical climbing trails that I ride year round normally. I got four, 7-1/2mi rides in that week, with a climb of 3.3 miles on that route. At the start of week 7, I began riding the mountain bike as hard as I could, did 4 more rides, and on the final ride, I did 20mi, and two 1,000' elevation peaks.
Surgery for the 2nd leg was 4 days later, at exactly 8 weeks post-op, 2 months ahead of schedule. It is currently only 12 days post-op.
EDIT: I had x-rays taken of the 2nd leg in the middle of the 3rd week post op. Not only had the open wedge completely filled in, it was almost not visible because the bone had solidified. A few days later, on day 90 since my 1st surgery, I celebrated by getting back on the mountain bike, and riding the same 20mi, double peak ride that I'd ridden just days before the 2nd surgery. Following the ride, I went to the track and attempted to run (jog), and was able to very slowly trot 100m. It's a bit too early to be trying to run, but it is still remarkable progress to have healed in just 90 days. I'm scheduled to have the plates removed in mid-Dec 2023.

Sir , I have bilateral valgus knee since 2005, mine left knee got dislocated in Nov 2012
1 , we got it operated on 14 Jan 2012. But the doctor said clearly that the knee correction was just 5-10% . The things changed in sept 12 knee again started loosing it's corrected place. Doctor said for operation again but I m kidney patient so couldn't go for it.
But now the Situation has worsen left with implants is in a bad position and now right knee also at very bad position.
So for any treatment is there or nothing can't be done ,
