I'm assuming at 50 or so the wheels probably "hooked up" and were no longer spinning faster than he was traveling. Removing the "drift plates" shouldn't affect top speed; but they do linit his acceleration....I'm curious what a launch would look like without them.
@@matelaszlo7396 Given that most of the weight (motors, batteries, Colin, etc) is just in front of the wheels, I think that is definitely a possibility, but he could modulate the throttle to prevent it.

@@tilago with brushless motors in most EV and bikes, you are right. Voltage is fixed by the battery but amps is actually determined by the load on the motor and the pwm of the speed controller. Voltage and amps are not directly in relation.

screw hydraulic, make it pneumatic or even induction and have it shoot the bed straight up
Hey anders i love your music
Most boring idea ever
The greatest youtube channel (which i have only just discovered somehow)
Break the land speed world record for a trike?? take off the "Drift Plates" GO FASTER
I'm assuming at 50 or so the wheels probably "hooked up" and were no longer spinning faster than he was traveling. Removing the "drift plates" shouldn't affect top speed; but they do linit his acceleration....I'm curious what a launch would look like without them.
Chris Spooner Do you think it would flip?
@@matelaszlo7396 Given that most of the weight (motors, batteries, Colin, etc) is just in front of the wheels, I think that is definitely a possibility, but he could modulate the throttle to prevent it.
Single wheel wheelie bar. Solved
@@cramitdfrog69 he did also say he was only running at 50% voltage and amperage for the motor. So take the skids off to make it predictable and ramp everything up to 11!!
You know for most of the stuff he makes here my reaction is like, "that's cool but also so incredibly dangerous I wouldn't want to deal with it myself". But this is one of the firs things I've seen that I'm more just straight-up, "I want one!"
Don't you mean one of the Furze things?
As if you didn't want his 360 swing set
still dangerous... just without noise. when that plastic ring blew off the tyre it could have put him into a bit of a spin and hit side of track and flipped at speed etc... but danger is where the funs at ;-)
Now I badly want to see an electric version of the tuk-tuk!
The literal personification of what can only be described as a "mad lad" haha
Electric full power tuk tuk
Room for bigger batteries
Haha same thoughts mate!
While you at it, make a drift version as well ;)
ULTIMATE Electric Drift Trike + Homemade Hoverbike = Electric-powered hover drift-trike.
Anang Fathurisky yeeees I want it
Elon musk: I have the fastest electric vehicle on the planet
Colin furze: hold my bear
That's awesome that they sponsored you! Amazing upscale!
For a summer project/warm weather project, make some sort of high speed aquatic vehicle, like let's say a Boat/Mobility Scooter hybrid
isn't half the Voltage and half the amps only 1/4 the power? P = I*V so 0.5Volts*0.5Aamps = 0.25Watts
I'm wondering if he was running at half the amperage rated for the voltage he was at, and/or half the voltage rated for the amperage he was at?
I think I heard him say 48 volts, the motor they are using is a LMC-200 so it's an 18kw, meaning he is probably running more than 200 amps. I'm guessing though
Yes but only if you are assuming that voltage input and amperage consumption are linearly correlated, which probably isn't, in practice.
@@deegleedee these ev's and ebikes usually have a fixed voltage draw for the batteries, so there is no way they could have linear relation right?
@@tilago with brushless motors in most EV and bikes, you are right. Voltage is fixed by the battery but amps is actually determined by the load on the motor and the pwm of the speed controller. Voltage and amps are not directly in relation.
Watching the speed test, whole time I'm thinking, "wow, that's fast...should probably wear a helmet"
Its ok James he was wearing his safety tie the loon that he is !
Even when he did wear the helmet, he didn't have any arm or knee pads 😂
I love the seat of the bike!! Very well done!! I take notes for my self!! Thanks bro!!
Put it on your staircase treadmill, and THEN lets see you get upstairs.
Idea: Create some presets with different values of torque, voltage etc. and put thumb-reaching buttons on the steering wheel to change the behavior of the motor on the fly. Make this beautiful thing smart!
edit: if above is not possible, put a sturdy smartphone holder on the wheel and find a motor model that has its own app
No offense, but it would be quite hard to do so. He would need a different motor controller, and motor controllers like that probably don't have api support.
why different values of torque when you can have max torque ?
Henrik Techguy here's a motor controller that maxes out at 20,000 watts and lets you have 2 different sets of values you can switch. It has an Android app and iOS app is being tested. It can also give you info on your screen for voltage, speed, motor temperatures etc..
Put it in a go cart at full capacity. Thatd be insane
dont know why he didnt try that at the start to make a mini formular E go-kart with aero and everything
I’m pretty sure the motor maxes out at like 75 kw or 100bhp
Aka stupid fast
Colin: Now since this is electric it means it can go places the petrol engines would be frouned upon!
Me: Okay like what?
Colin: Like the post office or the shop... or even IN the shop! :D
Me: Oh no you didn- Jesus christ you did it :O
