I'd love to see a fully rigged BSG vs a fully rigged Omega with no laser weapons or nukes, just some missiles and canons, the fighters would be harder i imagine, so just the ships would be cool to see the turrets turning close up.
Short of an immediate kill very few, if any, classic Sci-fi ships stand a chance against a Shadow ship. Except maybe the Doomsday Machine from the original Star Trek series.
yeah no, discounting some of the lower end inconsistent outliers, most Trek ships would have no trouble wiping out shadow ships, likewise legends star wars ships would have no trouble, likewise top tier end of series Stargate ships would probably overmatch them too. Depending on calcs some covenant ships are a maybe, while forerunner and 40k ships would horrifically stomp on shadow ships.
The only thing that could have possibly made more carnage out of it would be a Shivan Sathanas (FreeSpace 2). Evenly quarter it from stern to stem (or vice versa). Actually that monstrosity could've splatted Galactica across it's "face" like the UNSC Infinity did that Covenant cruiser. One cannot know true the TERROR of one of those behemoths without personally hearing "DIVE! DIVE! DIVE! HIT YOUR BURNERS PILOT!"
would like to see Vipers vs Shadow fighters, maybe start of with two Vipers encountering a single Shadow fighter, then with each new video, more and more...
Besides the fact that you were launching rocket out of the Viper Tubes and completly ignoringes the Main Laser Turrets of the Battlestar. Overall it looks really good but giving Galactica a bit more angle when flying the curve it could feel a bit more "natural" ;)
BS Galactica have CAM driver and other railgun weapon besides lasers emitter and nukes if i well remember. This weapon can penetrate the Shadow hull....the Phaser High energy particule beam emitters from ST can do the same and dissipate Energy field.... Only human and other technologically less advaced species in Babylon5 have usless weaponary to use against the shadows (Minbari warship likes Sharlin cruisers have enough firepower to damage and destroy them)....obviously Galactica cant win against just a single Shadow bioship
@@nicholassavio2325 In the Original Series Galactica has also some form of Energy Shield when i remember correctly. Never the less I would guess that the Original Version of the Battlestar would have a chance because of her "overpowered" Arsenal. I be honest that i dont know very much about B5, so i´m not even sure that the B5 Universe is familiar with energy shields. But if tha is really not the case, battles should look like nearly every Battle between the UNSC and the Covenant in the Halo Universe
I agree with your words. I love Special Katana's videos but every now and then I wish there was less nepotism towards B5 universe. Imagine Kirk's Enterprise fighting vessels without shields, limited by sub-light technology, without inertia dampers etc... it would be like battleship USS Iowa opening fire on HMS Victory (Admiral Nelson flahship, 18th century)

I get that the Shadow beam is very powerful but cutting through armour that can handle direct nukes, seems shady (pun intended).

Short answer plot. Long answer different battlestars fought differently. Although this Galactica is from the old tv show so it should have lasers.
