It sure was a brutal Friday and Saturday in southwest Minnesota. Never seen my spit hit the ground and bounce and freeze instantaneously until this weekend. For the record it was -56 on my acreage Saturday. Friday -52

I can deal with storms. Even short periods of freezing. But a week of sub zero wind chill is just overdoing things.😮

East Texas here, North of I20 and Tyler and East of Dallas. Everything is turning white and it's starting to look pretty but it's making us nervous because here in the Piney Woods this is what breaks limbs and brings down the power lines. We have plenty of water but no generator or gas heat so we are praying hard our lines and trees hold. I'm honestly less worried about the grid failing than some random limb or old utility pole snapping under the ice weight. Most folks have done their business this morning and are packing in for the long haul. Just want to give a shout out and huge Thank You to the utility workers who will inevitably be called out to turn the heat back on somewhere. Thanks for all you do as well Ryan!
Down here in South Texas we can’t even trust our own weatherman to give us a decent forecast with the hectic nature of our local climate. I truly depend on your channel since i have my own small nursery i run. Sincere thanks from the deep heart of Texas.
Most people don't know about generators. Hopefully that mild cold last year was educational but I doubt it.
@@hounddog3476 Everyone here where I live locally has a generator. Its country brush out here. It’s the Texas electrical grid system that fails when it’s too cold. I don’t know where you took off being pompous about “being educated”. We live through freezing temperatures and heat you could only imagine. I was just saying thank for his great service. 🤦♂️
Knoxville here and I CANT WAIT!!! We get out on the roads and pull people out of ditches. It's so fun and basically a winter time tradition for our family. Yay!!! 😊

Loudon here, and the jeep is ready to join the roving bands of jeeple to offer our off road prowess to recover less than fortune or capable vehicles that found the ditch. Also tow trucks don’t operate in snowy or icy conditions, so there’s that.

I've seen this before. I'm 48 and lived in the Nashville area my whole life. You can feel how deep the moisture is getting. We've dropped 3 degrees in just a couple hours. It's currently 430 pm...

Ryan was spot on once again! 12.5” of snow Friday, Friday night into Saturday AM. Cedarburg WI. (Half hour north of Milwaukee). We have 20” on the ground now.

It's hitting in Nashville now, I'm impressed with how fast it came in. When I left 50 minutes ago there was a small peppering you couldn't even see from inside. Now in just this time there's snow drifts on the interstate. Fun! We love a good snowstorm
Thanks Ryan again. I'm in Central Oklahoma near OKC and it is so COLD!! A couple days of right around 1 and -13 wind chill. Kind of spooky. i35 has been slammed with wrecks and slippery conditions and closings. Even some 4.1 Earthquakes. But I'm hunkered down at home with 3 dogs. My woodstove is really getting a workout. From what I understand, either keto or carnivore diets (either one) can very potentially reverse diabetes over time for a lot (if maybe not all) Type 2 diabetics. It can even help (even if it can't reverse) Type 1's. The main problem is getting a person to do the diet in the first place. So many people just don't want to.

I’m in Texarkana. I’m praying we don’t get ice like we got on Christmas Day in 2000. It was horrible. The electricity was out for 2 weeks. We could hear the branches cracking and breaking. It was sooo scary.

Man i know the feeling. Happened last year to us in central texas. No power, laying in bed in silence trying to sleep, n all you hear is tree branches snapping. All the while its still raining more ice. Was unbelievably sketchy, should make a scary movie about it. Anyways good luck hope u dont go thru it again. If so just pray to the trees to stay strong its what i did lol
I lived in central West TX for 8 years and really enjoyed the winters there. Moved back to Indiana end of October 2010 and had the most snow and an ice storm that out is without power for 4 days. The first couple days, we would all go sit in the car to warm up. Lived in a very tree-ey place and they were literally cracking, breaking and falling everywhere. The last couple of days we went to a hotel in another town (bc everything closeby was full) bc try keeping a 2 yr old and 4 yr old (that acted like she had ADHD) in bed covered up 24/7!
That was the worst winter storm I remember and I lived the first 28 years of my life in Indiana (I was 4 during the blizzard of 78 and only know anything about it from hearing stories).

Was brutally cold up in Ontario, Just North of Lake Erie. Blizzard overnight, heavy snow, and tons of ice. Was DEFINITELY not safe to drive last night.

I’m not gonna lie….I’m kind of bummed that North Carolina isn’t getting even a slightly flurry chance because I haven’t seen snow since I still lived in NY last year. So hopefully soon, we’ll get maybe a light snowfall.

My friend in Iowa was sending pictures from her backyard yesterday. A crazy amount of snow plus those -40F wind chill temps. Makes me even more glad to be in southern Arizona.
In Dow Iowa.theyclise with gates so you cannot travel from Iowa to Minnesota on 35w..Expensive vending machines at that rest stop..bring your own!
It is currently snowing here in Memphis. Pretty heavy at time. Everything already covered.
I live in west Tennessee and the snow started coming down today at 14:00 CT and only half a inch fell but I expect we will get 4 - 5 inches and schools will close probably until Wednesday or Thursday . It rarely snows in Tennessee but its mainly possible every February since that's the coldest month in the state

This will be the first snow of the year here in TN. In NE Tennessee at least. Im ready for it, just hope it doesnt knock the power out. Lost power 3 times in the past 6 days because of the wind.

I’m in Knoxville TN and can’t wait to see how much snow we get. I love winter but unfortunately we don’t get much snow anymore. This is going to be great.
I live in southern Alberta and have never experienced any cold like this. Temperatures overnight were approaching -40C (-40F) and windchills were approaching -50C (-58F). The cold is still here, but last night we got an emergency alert about the fact that the province was overusing power more than ever, and thankfully rotating power outages didn’t happen last night. Crystals were growing on the inside of our home windows, and the window opener was completely covered in crystals and ice. Honestly, I would not be surprised if this got in the history books.

When winter daylight savings time first started it was get dark around 4 and for the past few days it’s been getting dark around 5:30 close to 6, but the sun doesn’t start rising until like 7ish. Something in the earth is going on, very strange. It hasn’t been that cold either.

Ryan I have lived in Tennessee all of my life and it used to snow so much when I was younger. My question is has the line where the southern warmth mixing with the cold moved further north not allowing us to get the snows we used to?
