- Meet the new camera: it's so light-sensitive that I can finally show you what a night ride looks like. The camera is set up in such a way that you see as much in the film as in real life. So from now on you can also ride with me at night at Cabview Holland. I'm really curious what you think, so leave a comment! Thanks to all who clicked on the Paypal Cookie Link, it's your camera. Well, I can definitely see the difference. The newer night videos are so much lighter and clearer. It could be the camera. Or... it could be that it is just not as dark now during the night and the people who sold you the new camera knew about that. You may have been victim of the 'brighter night light at night' scam going on all around the planet. Did your camera come with a 'mask'? Injections? Or, 'jabs' as they are sometimes referred to? It could just be natural, I suppose. Maybe that 'dark matter' we've heard so much about is migratory and headed south for the upcoming warmer months. Now that the dark matter has left the Netherlands, it's now lighter at night. It is just so difficult nowadays to separate conspiracy from fact. Anyway, I really like the videos. And, I feel better watching the night videos in either case, as I am 7 hours different from your time zone... and usually I am already in my Official Cabview Holland Dutch Railways Pajamas (the ones with the booties and hoodie). Here where I live we are having the "Oh is it supposed to be night?" effect. The closer to summer the less dark it is. In late May it will be daylight around the clock for the whole summer. I have been watching your videos for a loong time now. Keep up the great work. Mooi gedaan en ik dank je wel vir mooi videos uit die Nederlands.

I have never seen your night video before, but the picture quality itself is very great. And for me the Mitsubishi traction sounds much clearer than the previous video which most of the people may overlook.
Speaking of the Japanese traction system, how you or your colleagues commented on it? 20 years ago Japanese companies didn't have technologies on Vector controlling so 2 companies introduced Siemens GTO tractions(now all obsoleted), and I wonder how it drives like compare to the European counterparts.
Thanks. I am not really experiencing any differences, it accelerates smoothly and powerfull. One thing that does stand out is that it handles slippery tracks better than the Siemens SLT.

De vooruitgang in de techniek is niet voor te stellen wat er nog aankomt. Nikon heeft nu fullframe camera's die je aan internet hangt en de software een opwaardering geeft. What's next. Verwachtooie video's uit de nacht. Groet uit Zandvoort.

Mooi gefilmd Vincent en de kwaliteit is inderdaad erg helder. vanavond ga ik nog even richting Amsterdam Centraal vanaf Rotterdam dus wie weet zie je me wel staan op ASD spoor 2 vanavond indien je er dienst hebt uiteraard.

Very nice, do like a good view in the dark.
A few years ago I shifted my (n scale) railway modelling focus from the UK, but did look at two other options before settling on the US/Canada - Japan and its very varied intensive commuter trains and Holland (thanks to your videos) of the NS with the VIRM 9500s, Sprinters, as well as the various freights that operate...unfortunately aside from a few small diesel engines a few electrics there is nothing available, which was very disappointing to see. Is there no market for manufacturers to cater for modellers in Holland to model operations in there own country?
i have also searched for ns model trains & was disappointed with results...
There are a lot of Dutch nscale models nowadays but sadly no virm, ddz, mat64, sgm...

Prachtig! Wat voor camera gebruik je nu? Mooi vertrek tussen links Traxx en rechts VIRM met groot NS-logo. NS moet dat logo zwart maken voor een veel beter contrast (net zoals de grote logo's op de 1300 locomotieven lang geleden). Wit op geel is gewoon niet mooi.
En hoe hou je het schoon hè? :-)

Alohaaaa wat een mooie rit zeg en wat zijn die koplampen (of hoe je dat ook mag noemen bij een trein) gaaf zeg. Je ziet nu duidelijk meer, hebben alleen deze sprinters of nog meer treinen van zulke koplampen?
Ik noem ze gewoon schijnwerpers. Ook de Flirt heeft ze.
Wat een enorm positief verschil! Ik blijf voorstander van beelden van overdag, maar het is toch heel mooi om zo ook die avondritten eens mee te maken. Ik ben dan altijd benieuwd naar welke camera daarvoor wordt gebruikt?
Je lijkt een beetje te veel vals licht te versterken, je kan nergens op de stations zien hoe laat het is.
Welke camera ik gebruik is en blijft een geheim, sorry.

@@FJWH Het streven naar hoge kwaliteit is een kenmerk van mijn werk. Ik heb concurrentie. Het kost me heel veel tijd, geld en frustratie om binnen de beperkingen een fatsoenlijke kwaliteit te leveren en het voelt niet goed om alle kostbare opgedane technische kennis van de afgelopen jaren zomaar weg te geven.

Heel erg mooi. En ja wat een verschil. Toch op sommige stukken is het met je nieuwe camera nog steeds gitzwart, dan wil ik niet weten hoe weinig je zou zien met je oude cam.
Maar dan nu de belangrijkste vraag: wat voor camera merk/model/type had je eerst, en welke heb je nu?
Ja, er zijn stukken waar je echt niets ziet. We navigeren dan op de sterren ;-)
Welke apparatuur ik gebruik hou ik liever geheim, ik heb nogal wat concurrentie :-)
😊zelfs de rijdraad zie je de roodkopere kleur op de stations,er zijn heel wat nieuwe deuren open gegaan,toppie hoor,zit echt te genieten.😂

In your old night rides, I used to wonder how you could possibly drive the train safely given how dark and dim the headlights are. Now I see it was just the camera not seeing well at night, lol

Awesome! I am in the U.S., but hope to visit Amsterdam soon and want to incorporate some train travel. I am interested in recommendations for a short trip that can be done in a day that would be good for a railfan experience! One question from the video...at the 07:12 mark or so, an NS Intercity Materieel appears to pass through the station with only the cab car and two carriages and no rear cab unit. Was that just an equipment move?

@@CabviewHolland I recognize the train type from other videos. What made that one seem strange was the last car did not appear to be any sort of cab car and was only three cars long total - it looked like it was missing the back end. That is why I was wondering if it was an equipment move - moving cars around that were not carrying passengers, maybe because they were being repaired or replacements were needed elsewhere. Here in New Jersey where I live, sometimes I see an engine with one or two cars for those kinds of reasons. So that is why I was wondering if a similar thing was shown with that train passing by the station.

Allereerst leuke video,
In het begin toen ik de dubbele virm Flow zag dacht ik naast je te hebben gereden als passagier maar toen ik nog een keer mijn reisgegevens terug keek bleek het wel dezelfde samenstelling te zijn maar dan om 18:54 Richting Nijmegen.
Grappig dat hij om die tijd in de richting van Maastricht nog een keer reed.
Dank je! Meestal pendelt dezelfde trein de hele dag hetzelfde traject.
