      Well I mean he’s trying to get a rat of of his restaurant because of the fact that it is a massive health code violation and no one will want to eat where there is a rat.

    Skinner is unique among the main Pixar villains, as he does technically both win and lose, as since he cannot have Gusteau's, he gets it shut down instead, although his efforts ultimately lead to nothing, as Linguini and Colette open an equally popular restaurant funded by Anton Ego. Therefore Skinner temporarily wins, then finally loses.
    Despite being the head chef of Gusteau's, he is never seen cooking in the movie, preferring to bark orders to his employees and stay in his office instead.

    He’s in my top 10 favorite Disney villains list, just barely defeating Yzma, as while they’re both hilarious to the max, Skinner is more original, has the one of the 2 antithesises of Ratatouille’s message, and doesn’t get defeated in a typical manner like every other Disney villain. He is still a threat after getting fired, and he technically wins in the finale but Remy, Ego, Linguini, and Colette are still doing great in their new bistro La Ratatouille, leaving Skinner with nothing in the end. Yzma is still fun, has her minion Kronk, and got more appearances, but she a little predictable since she’s already in a comedy movie/tv show so some jokes still could’ve been seen a mile away, she’s is essentially a Disney villain parody since she wants the throne like many Renaissance villains, and she is often less funny than Kronk. She is still great, but Skinner is comedic villain in a movie that is more nuanced, making the comedy a genuine surprise yet still fitting perfectly.

      Ooh! I’d love to hear the rest of your list! You make a good point too, I definitely think Skinner is more realistic and therefore more relatable. It also helps that he is plausible. Not only is it realistic, but it’s pretty common too! (The over controlling but lazy boss ofc, not the cooking rat.) Love this movie, my favorite Pixar film yet.

I don’t know, maybe the comment was too long and an error occurred) Part of it is how well integrated he is as an antithesis to the “Keep Moving Forward” message of Meet the Robinsons. Check out Jambareeqi’s top 5 worst and best disney villains and Shaffrillas’s review on the movie for all the details. The way he gets defeated, then redeemed is the best part. The question mark and empty box in the binder still struck a chord to me to this day. The way Lewis saved Goob’s future by waking him up for the winning catch, showing that there’s no real bad blood as Bowler Hat Guy’s villainy was really just one incident that he couldn’t process. These are just some of the many scenes that make this movie excellent.

    Wall E, Soul, Toy Story 1&2, Cars, UP, Monsters Inc, Inside out, Ratatouille and The Incredibles are the best movies that Pixar has made and is not so much for the credibility but more to do with the complixity of the characters and how relatable that is to us.
    Toy Story-We all played with toys and then grow up and stop playing with them but wonder what would the Toys say about us when we are alone
    Monsters- Most of us especially when we were younger were scared something was going to come out of the dark. What a good plot to give us a silly reason
    The Incredibles-Parents often have to forget the good old days or broken dreams they couldn’t accomplish for the sacrifice of helping our children. Even when you had a good heart for the world we need to balance that we first save our children.
    Up- Such a creative way to cope with the loss of someone. So many details in the movie that are later used like the Grape pin or the villain that appears as a héroe and is never heard of until after the movie.
    Wall-E How to illustrate the love without words between robots.
    Inside out- We all grow up and deal with our emotions. A good illustration of what happens inside our emotions.
    Ratouille-Is just so artistic and the motivation of the characters make sense.
    Soul-Pretty much how many of us can be obsessed with a dream that we stop living
    Cars-It might not be many favorite but there’s a good character development in lighting and the Doc.
    Coco also has a lot connections to us Hispanics. Dives into the misunderstandings of family yet at the same time the value of it.

The video says alot about his actions but let's be real here, if the restaurant was actually real and things aren't doing good and things may get worse... I would do his actions but maybe doing something different. Look at mcdoandls but its a way way different story from them

    I think it was the strongest movie from Pixar, out of Toy Story.
    It had a message that was honestly natural, "everybody can cook" is honestly a good one.
    Cooking is universal, and i'd rather stick to this one, than those pro-diversity garbages we have now..
    Nobody get trully hated in Ratatouille, while "diversity" stuffs will tell how it's ok to be a jerk to anyone who are white, not trans, straight.. Which is an hypocrite move from those who are asking for inclusion and equality.
    And no, do not bring up past events, people back then knew their fights, lots of people nowadays clearly don't.
    I needed to put this out my chest, a hobby is something where we CAN be united in, not mainstream-movements.

    The fact that Skinner sort of wins in the end. You see, most movies would have the villain get his comeuppance, but the fact that Remy and Linguini decide to let him go, yet he still ends up, shutting the restaurant down, is quite a surprise that you don’t ever see in movies. Although in hindsight, knowing how the restaurant was filled with rats, cooking all those customers food, even if they were cleaned, I still don’t think that would look well for anyone. So if anything, Skinner and the health inspector did make the right decision even if those rats were cleaned.

    @tctt185_dg 8 місяців тому

    Is Chef Skinner a villain? Nah, just a Good Villain that is seen as evil. The chef rat Remy, he's the most Evil Hero in a Pixar's film. Let's start;
    - Remy who is the only rat in the colony to smell food that is poisonous. He ditched them to follow his dreams.
    - Remy never taught Linguine how to cook well without him. Remy used him to cook well like a puppet master controlling a puppet.
    - Remy inadvertently caused health violations by inviting his colony over. True, he might have washed his hands, but he's filthy as hell with what he has on his body. Some are so deadly that it is hard to remove it.
    - Remy taught the rat colony to do things that is against both their free will and their nature. True, they're rats... they're meant to run around and eat trash, and die as prey. They're not meant to be predators.
    So look at Remy's face, he might have a very happy and loveable appearance... but if you read his actions, deep down - he is actually MUCH MUCH worse than what Chef Skinner did in the film. He only took over the restaurant's legacy and started working to sell microwave meals to supermarkets - which if you look at it from a business stand point, that is actually smart to expand and continue the restaurant's legacy years later. If the restaurant shut down before they were sold, the reputation of the restaurant will be stained in legacy and no-one will ever want to take over. Oops... that is exactly what happened at the end the film.
    MatPat did a GOOD Film Theory video on it, and I do agree - DON'T TRUST REMY! - ua-cam.com/video/HB4L4Uin9IA/v-deo.html
