I've never cared about the Aliens franchise, but I do need some genre variety on my bookshelf. Especially for books that fit squarely in a classic genre, and aren't some deconstruction or mash-up or psychedelic-non-sense....This definitely fits into the classic sci-fi-space-opera-shoot-em-up genre, and I do like the art presented in the beginning....I may keep an eye out for this.
This is one of those books that just sit in your head. You may be able to pass up on a superhero book now and again but this guy? Dang it's a must-purchase.
This is something I'll definitely buy in the near future. I'm a mass fan of the Alien/Predator franchise, and it's great to see Marvel reprinting the 80s/90s comics. Definitely on my watchlist.
Always wanted to get an overview look behind any of the Alien series. Love the movies. Bill Paxton reference at the end....awesome. I remember seeing many different crossover events with Alien and Batman or Alien and Superman. Used to think that was ridiculous until I saw Archie meeting Aliens and even Predator. The world of comics can be interesting and downright weird. But I think that's the appeal and love we have about this world we explore often. Also, H. R. Giger's work he created from the Alien world is very much appreciated. Any of his art books are definite treasures and I'm glad I picked them up when I did see them around way back when. None of us collectors will ever run out of ideas/materials available from the content you share with us.

I can’t believe Tribes is included! Talk about purism and attention to detail. I was a child of the 70s and 1979s Alien is A supreme sci fi masterpiece . Of course it’s directed by Ridley Scott who directed THE greatest sci fi film of all time Blade Runner. Endless debate artistically it could also be Kubricks 2001 A Space Odyssey. I’m beyond a huge fan saw Prometheus at least 4 times and Covenant just as many on big screens . The franchise explores mankind’s greed, hubris , treachery, and evil against another alien specimen and the Weyland Corporation of course weaponizes these to our downfall. I have all the Dark Horse originals from the 90s and I will probably add this to my collection.
Which is exactly why I snagged the DM cover haha. I love Tristan’s astonishing art. It’s absolutely disgusting that Land would copy and paste his work for a cover and claim it as original.

Marvel didn't restore the names, they were restored in the DH reprints. Def in the 'Essential Comics v1' and the hardcovers released a couple years ago.

I remember the little comics rolled up inside the inserts. I researched it years later, and it was all supposed to be part of a kids Saturday morning cartoon series called _Operation: Aliens._ You can find some of the animation cells from the Korean studio that was to be handling the animation online. Of course, it was deemed too violent for kids and scrapped. Who knew?? I picked up the two Dark Horse hardcover trades that collected most of these a few years back, but along with preserving Hicks' & Newt's names, it also preserved the original black & white in the first trade. G'ah... think I'm gonna have to double dip. Torn on what cover to go with.

Interesting, I'm very curious to also see if Marvel's Predator comic will tie in with the current Alien Marvel run (which is going fantastically by the way). It's really annoying that there's no logo on the spine under the dust jacket. I put the dust jackets in protective storage and keep my omni naked on the shelf.
The artwork is much more modern than I thought. For some reason, I always thought Alien comic was bronze age style. Maybe a different series? Didn't plan to get it, but now probably will.

Absolutely getting this as I’m a huge fan of aliens. But disappointed that the book was printed by imak. That’s a bad printer that marvel has kept using. They need to quit being cheap. It’s sad that DC is putting out better built books these days when you consider that marvel once upon a time was way ahead in that department.
Overall, DC has better graphic design for their collected editions but lacks in actually releasing the stuff people want, in general. Marvel is good at being ahead of that but lack good design for their collected edtions, though are ahead in the extras. One other thing that DC has kept a leg up is in releasing the classic stuff from all 3 ages. how many golden age omnibi do we have including silver age but Marvel keeps people in the dark

Apologies for my stupid question but I didn't really get what extra material this Omnibus contains that is not included in the 2 DarK Horse hard covers called Aliens: The Original Comics Series. I mean other that the art/cover/novel at the end of the volume and the added color in some of the issues. Any new issue? Never read this, always preferred the first Alien movie to James Cameron's flick so steered clear when these came out. Probably still not my thing but looks like the perfect time to finally dive in and give it a try.
They mostly come out at night... mostly... But not often.. sometimes they come at midday but not often...once in a while they stay out in the day ...once in awhile... Very often they stay indoors...very often.
In the original Alien movie comic book/graphic novel adaption, that was started on and completed before the movie came out in 1979; it followed the original script. In the original Alien script, the Xenomorph could turn into a cube. Is that version of the adaption in any collection?
How does this compare with the Dark Horse 30th Anniversary editions? Content and book build wise? There was two, blue and black ones, which are thinner so maybe this has the content from both of them?

Nothing new, but I don't think the toy line comics have been collected before. Not in any of the collections I used to have.
What do you think is better? Aliens vol 1 & 2 darkhorse hardcover or the Aliens Marvel omnibus?

Never read this, always preferred the first Alien movie to James Cameron's flick so steered clear when these came out. Probably still not my thing but looks like the perfect time to finally dive in and give it a try.

They mostly come out at night... mostly... But not often.. sometimes they come at midday but not often...once in a while they stay out in the day ...once in awhile... Very often they stay indoors...very often.

In the original Alien movie comic book/graphic novel adaption, that was started on and completed before the movie came out in 1979; it followed the original script.
In the original Alien script, the Xenomorph could turn into a cube.

How does this compare with the Dark Horse 30th Anniversary editions? Content and book build wise? There was two, blue and black ones, which are thinner so maybe this has the content from both of them?
