Thank you for posting this instructional video. After watching it, I am encouraged to remove my bathroom tub myself. The plumber quoted me between $300-600 to do this job. You are as good a teacher as a plumber with your videos. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I look forward to seeing a step by step instructional video like this one on how to install a tub soon.

Many thanks for the video. I just demo'd a fiberglass tub in my house and your video was pretty much the only reason why I did it flawlessly in an hour vs. recklessly in 4 hours. VERY helpful. Thanks again! Next video will be how to put new stuff in!

Thanks for sharing TileMasterGa! I was just starting to cut out my old fiberglass surround and I thought it best to check out UA-cam first. My first thought was why are you cutting out a perfectly good shower surround , until I realized you are a tile guy, DUH ! What a great teacher UA-cam is turning out to be , thanks to you and others like you that are willing to take the time to video and post !

I read the comments so I don't need to mention pliers or PPE. I have this EXACT same tub/shower down to the fixtures and even the replacement showerhead. It could have been mine except the finish is much more shiney on that one. Anyway this showed me exactly what to do when it comes time to rip and tear. I have spent probably 50 hours watching your videos and it seems that I learn something useful to me even when watching shower installs. There are a few details I am still unclear on, but I'll keep looking until I have all my ducks a row and my bucks are ready to go. I agree that you are a great teacher since you often mention the little details that us DIYers need to get the job done that others don't think to mention. Of course there is the video where you say, "now I'm opening the bucket..."
I am compiling a list of questions so if I ever run into you here in Oregon, I'll buy you some Wodka and pick your brain for hours.
Thank you for your time putting together these videos. When it comes time, I know where to get the fiberglass mesh joint tape.

thank you for this video. We are removing the fixtures from two bathrooms in a forty year old barn - both fiberglass - one a shower stall, the other a tub. This is exactly what I needed to prepare me. Fortunately we have already removed all of the drywall and are down to the studs - just needed to know how to work around the plumbing and what tools to use to cut up the fiberglass. And, yes, I will be wearing safety glasses and a respirator. We will likely find rodent or reptile remains, too. I look forward to watching more of your videos as I decide how to remodel the spaces.

I first cut around the exterior of the enclosure as close to the walls as possible. When the tub enclosure was removed, in about 10 pieces, I then pried the nailing flange away from the studs just a bit and with a metal blade in my sawsall cut the nails or screws holding the flange on the studs. Then cut the flange at the corners and removed it very little damage to existing wall board.
