Alexia sings "Stand by Me", accompanied by Cypriot and Refugee youth, living in Cyprus, along with the Amalgamation Choir, Louis Patsalides, and a special impromptu guest, Ms. Elizabeth Spehar, Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus, to close the 2019 World Refugee Day concert, honoring and recognizing all the refugee communities in Cyprus throughout its history, on 20th June 2019 at Costanza Moat (tafros) in Nicosia.

The 2019 World Refugee Day, internationally observed on the 20th of June, the United Nations High Commission for the Refugees (UNHCR) has invited Alexia to represent, honor and recognize the Refugee communities in Cyprus, throughout the centuries, in a Cultural Humanitarian Concert Event at the Costanza Moat at the historical sight of the Venetian Walls, in the capital city, Nicosia.
Alexia brings all her musical influences, to shed light to the multi-cultural aspect of Cyprus, by presenting iconic songs, from all over the World, sung in the native language of the Refugee communities - Armenian, Ladino (Sephardic Jew), French (West African), Arabic (Syrian, Lebanese, East African), Cypriot, Greek (Smyrna), comprising this fascinating mosaic of cultures in Cyprus.

ΑΛΕΞΙΑ - Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Προσφύγων
Στις 20 Ιουνίου 2019, ημέρα που έχει ανακηρυχθεί από τον ΟΗΕ ως Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Προσφύγων (World Refugee Day), η Αλέξια θα αποτίσει φόρο τιμής και θα αναγνωρίσει όλες τις κοινότητες προσφύγων στην Κύπρο ανά τους αιώνες, με ένα σημαντικό Διεθνές Ανθρωπιστικό Πολιτιστικό γεγονός, μια μεγάλη συναυλία στην τάφρο των Ενετικών τειχών της Λευκωσίας.
Η Αλέξια, με έναν πολυδιάστατο δημιουργικό τρόπο συγκεντρώνει τις μουσικές της επιρροές για να φωτίσει μουσικά την πολυπολιτισμική πλευρά της Κύπρου, ώστε να ακουστεί η φωνή και ο ήχος της μουσικής των κοινοτήτων, παρουσιάζοντας εμβληματικά τραγούδια από όλον τον κόσμο στην Αρμενική γλώσσα, στην Ισπανοεβραϊκή γνωστή επίσης ως Λαντίνο, στη Γαλλική (Δυτική Αφρική), στην Αραβική (Συρία, Λίβανο, Ανατολική Αφρική), στην Κυπριακή, στην Ελληνική (Σμύρνη), στη μητρική γλώσσα των προσφύγων που έχουν ζήσει στην Κύπρο και αποτελούν μέρος αυτού του συναρπαστικού μωσαϊκού πολιτισμών στο νησί.

We can I agree to disagree of the approach and the message we send out... Multiculturalism is not the answer to our occupied lands! Kudos to Alexia for having a heart and compassion but the message is missing so when the other 60% of Cyprus is occupied in the next invasion and sure I am typing here... its coming, we can hold hands and sing with the invaders! Our Compassion makes us the victims of Globalism and more! - As I said we can agree to disagree like the civilized people we are! The UNHCR is not the friend of the Hellenic people... but a wolf in sheep's clothings. The Hellenes are proto-european, does anyone know what that means? Where is the UN and all these refugee organizations fighting to give the Hellenic people aboriginal/indigenous status, they talk about every other proto-indo-europeans but the Hellenes, you have to ask why? we have occupied these lands for over 100,000 thousand years and yet we are treaded as if we swam across the waters and showed up with a flag to displace the local people (www.eupedia.com/genetics/haplogroups_of_bronze_age_proto-indo-europeans.shtml) - to quote Edmund Burke " “Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.”
