Nah, this wasn’t stunning to anyone who keeps up with college football. Notre Dame is at the very least the 2nd best defense USC will play (Oregon), they’re not slouches on offense, and USC’s defense is USC’s defense.

lmao, the Bears saw this game and went "yes, Caleb Williams is exactly what we need."
Games like this show how much Williams has to grow if he's going to be successful as a pro. Although very talented, Caleb IMO lacks toughness and is the ultimate frontrunner. He doesn't respond well to adversity, when things go bad early they usually continue to go badly because he hasn't shown that he's capable of adjusting his play.

SC ran into a major buzz saw in South Bend. I thought for sure this game would be much closer. But the Trojans were schooled and brought back down earth.

As an old Buckeye I enjoy watching USC get beat.
All the manic, undisciplined improvisation by Caleb Williams finally caught up to him. Dude has to shift his focus to the fundamentals of the QB position before he throws all that extracurricular stuff in there.
Why take away the part of his game that makes him so dangerous? His throwing mechanics and ability are best compared to Mahomes. They are at their best when extending plays outside the pocket and making throws on the move.
I think we will start to see more young qb’s transition to this style of play, if they have the arm strength and talent required. A qb who can extend plays, spin it on the run, throw off balance, and sling side-arms is almost impossible to defend.

Also, it’s only one game. USC has some ballers on their offense but their defense is an embarrassment. He will still go no 1 in the draft

Why the pumping up of Williams by the commentators? After a TD pass by Williams, one of the commentators said "No one does this better" and how amazing he is to watch play. I thought I missed something and rewound the play (after seeing NBC's replays), but I did not see anything out of the ordinary with how he threw the ball.
He hasnt watched michigan , because mccarthy does that stuff a lot.

I'm not even an SEC fan, OSU. Trevor Lawrence was the next Andrew Luck in the fact he was #1 high school recruit destined to being #1 draft pick and managed to at least get a National Championship along the way. Caleb Williams definitely has talent, but no way I take him over those two any draft years.

This game shows the defense is much improved but the offense needs a new wide receiver coach and offensive coordinator and a new special team coach. Notre Dame should bring in Paul Chryst or Kliff Kingsbury OC and Emmet Jones as WR coach. Levar woods as special teams coach would would mesh well with Freeman being an ex LB. Marcus Freeman needs an ex head coach for the offense and Defense so Freeman can focus on player development and building a national championship team. I believe Freeman has a better shot than Kelly but needs to adjust his staff in the offseason.

I wouldn't be too impressed with the final score as USC, prior to ND, beat teams with a combined 33% winning pct. ND just exposed them as a hype program. USC have a serious chance to go 1-5 for their final six games (including ND loss); Wash, Ore, Utah, and UCLA coming up.
