- (12 Mar 1959) The Royal Yacht "Britannia" took Prince Philip to Borneo, where he visited British colonies and protectorates in the island. A Royal visit to this part of the world is a rare event. Malays, Chinese, Dyaks and everyone left no doubt about the popularity of the occasion. The British protected State of Brunei is rich in oil and the Prince went to have a look at some of the oil-fields in this territory. ® Previously, at Brunei Airport, the Sultan was present to make His Royal Highness welcome, when he arrived in his Heron aircraft. After greetings, members of the State Council were presented by the British Resident. There was heavy rain in Kuching, the capital. But crowds were out to see the Prince. The Astana (or Palace) is now the residence of the Governor, Sir Anthony Abell. Then, the Prince inspected a Guard of Honour on the wharf, where James Brooke landed nearly 120 years ago. He became the first English rajah of Sarawak, now a Crown Colony. San Dakan now, a town in British North Borneo, and a warm welcome by the Chinese people with dragons.

From 1841 to 1946, what kind of development did they bring? It was all about business and profits for them. That's how all countries interact with one another-driven primarily by money and self-interest. You should be more critical and question the knowledge you accept without considering the truth behind it. As long as you're human, there will always be hatred towards others. I am not proud to have once been ruled by former British soldiers, but that is far in the past. It is truly a shame that some people believe a tiger would never eat a sheep right in front of it. Don't consume blindly, as it will poison yourself. As my academic mentor once said, 'Anda suka yang manis-manis, Sejarah yang manis-manis, anda akan kencing manis.' The clip is on Prince Philip. His first mission was to see the Brunei oil. Then the British had the cheek to colonise Sarawak after WW2. It is not about James Brooke.
I actually didn't say Sarawak people love or dislike the British. That is a different subject. For historical interest, you may wish to visit the Brooke Gallery in Kuching, to listen to what the Brooke family said.
